Darkfur growled:"Yes, there is still some left." The questions Nightbane was asking him were starting to make him suspect that the lion wanted a meal that wouldn't be running or putting up a fight...

Blood Scar's eyes opened completely as the tired Croc watched as several of the smaller crocs began to back away. The larger ones in the group however moved slowly...they did not want to leave their meal but when they realized how big this new one was...they figured it was getting too risky..

Gustav shot menacing glares at each and every croc that so much as hesitated to give way, soon reaching the kill. without a second's hesitation, he tore into it, jaws clamping shut on the corpse and gulping down massive lumps of it's remains. it wasn't much, but it would satisfy him...

Nightbane grunted satisfactorily. "Do you plan to go back to it?" he growled. he usually wouldn't leech off another predator, though that would appear to be what he was currently doing, seeing as this would be his second meal off this Leopard. there was little chance of him getting a third meal off of it, regardless of how easy it may be. it was by chance he had crossed paths with it again...

Blood Scar remained was now fully awake, almost forgetting about any more sleep. For a moment...he thought something had to be done but realized he reconized this croc from some time before. A deal was made between them...Blood Scar recalled not seeing him around lately but it seems he had finally returned. The Salt Water Croc remained on the bank...soaking up the sun and just allowed the new-comer to eat.

Darkfur growled:"No, i've eaten my fill from it." He was now certain Nightbane was asking him these questions because he didn't want to hunt for his own food...

Nightbane grunted. "Well then, i see that there's no problem with me getting rid of the rest for you, correct?" he growled. he was not liking how the situation was turning out. what had been a plan to steal a kill or kill the Leopard itself, had turned into a rather awkward request for food from a creature he had previously befriended...all Nightbane could think at this moment was Just HOW do i get myself into situations like this?...

Darkfur nodded and gestured with his tail in the direction where the kill was before growling:"Head back in that direction and you'll find it. However, You might want to get to it soon before another creature decides to claim it."

The lion simply nodded, heading towards the kill, planning to eat it on the spot, then leave...

Gustav had soon consumed anything useful of the kill, leaving the crocs to deal with their loss of a meal and climbing up onto a sand bank, his massive form making the croc himself seem like a sand bank all his own...

Redtail was already eating what remained of the kill, when he smelled a lion approaching. He growled to himself, "A scavenger's life is never easy, I swear..." he scurried away, carrying a chunk of flesh in his jaws, before diving into a nearby scrub with a noisy rustle, waiting until he could get to the kill again.

Once Nightbane began to walk away from him, Darkfur turned and resumed walking himself. He now was wondering to himself if he might see the lion a third time...

Nightbane soon arrived at the kill, sniffing it, making sure it wasn't too old. he picked up the scent of jackal on it, but paid the scent no mind. he grabbed the kill by the neck and began dragging it with him to a place he'd deem comfortable to feed at...

Redtail pulled his bloody muzzle out of the scrub bush, growling irritably. He barked a little too loudly, "You've gotta be kidding me!"

the Lion froze in his tracks, twisting to stare at the source of the sound, eying the Jackal in the bushes, a low rumbling snarl coming from him as he dropped the corpse, putting a clawed paw over it as he eyed the jackal irritably... he began to contemplate killing it and being done with it...

Redtail's eyes widened and he disappeared back into the bush, stealthily crawling out the other side and padding away quickly, before the lion decided to investigate.

Nightbane stood deathly still for a few moments, waiting for anything to hint he was being watched, before picking up his kill and continuing...

Gustav basked calmly in the light of the late afternoon sun, planning to head off late at night to see if he could find a better place to stay...even with his massive size scaring off any rivals for food, he didn't like being in places with so much competition...

"Stupid lion... thinks he's so tough..." Redtail muttered to himself as he padded towards the edge of a river to take a drink. "Just because he's big doesn't make him so special!" He pawed the ground, as if attacking an invisible animal. "Ooh, look at me, I'm a big, dumb lion! I'm so big and bad!" He growled angrily, making fake roars, which sounded more like yapping. Suddenly, the water's edge exploded and a crocodile burst from the water, snapping its massive jaws at the jackal and hissing dangerously. With a bark of fright, Redtail zipped away, yapping, "Stupid giant predators!"

Nightbane saw a splash of water out the corner of his eye just as he was settling down to eat, the irritating yapping of a jackal framing that single event. he fed on the kill, ripping mouthful after mouthful from it until he was fairly fed, and the meal, skeletonised, even missing bones in some places...

Nearly running into Nightbane yet again, Redtail swiftly skidded to a stop and jinked off to the side, still running off, using his agility to avoid another confrontation with one of the native predators. Once he was a short distance away, the tired jackal sat down on his haunches, panting, "What's... wrong with... me? I'm a... scavenger! I should be... sneakier than... this..."

Shredclaw was resting under the shade of a large tree, his eyes half closed. He could see a two of his cubs playing, the young lions making playful growls as they made short runs at each other and swung their paws at each other's feet, both attempting to trip the other...

Nightbane snarled as he lay down, yawning. the sun had almost completely receded, and it was time he turned in for the night. he was a safe distance away from the river, so Crocs wouldn't be too much of a problem, and he was more or less the biggest predator in the immediate area, so that narrowed down the list of risks. he looked around, reassuring himself that there was nothing that could be a nuisence in the immediate area. satisfied, he lay down, letting himself fall asleep in the early evening sky...

the massive predator heaved himself off the sand bank and back into the water, his predatory gaze locked on his surroundings, practically daring one of the crocs to try something, though he knew no attack would come with him AND another large croc in the area. he powered himself forward with his powerful tail, moving forward at an impressive speed as he moved on, looking for another source of food...one that would be less vulnerable to depletion...
