After walking on for sometime, Darkfur had now reached his territory. Through a gap in the trees above him, he could see that it would soon be night. Walking over to the stream that was not far from the tree he slept in, The leopard laped up the cool water until his thirst was satisfied. Turning to the tree, He padded up to it and let his claws slide out once his front paws touched the bark. Once he gained a firm grip, Darkfur climbed up the tree and quickly reached the large branch he often slept on...

Between the roots of a large tree near the edge of the river, a large form pushed its way out from the naturally-occurring underground cave. The crocodile growled lowly, slowly pushing himself along through the undergrowth, and then into the river. Rogue made his way into the murky water, looking for a good ambush spot to hunt for any unaware nocturnal creatures that came down for a drink, as well as any interlopers on his territory...

Now that he was safely up in his tree, Darkfur closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep...

Azure eye was now heading back to the center of his territory in the dim light of the setting sun. He hadn't been able to finish his territory patrol, but he wasn't worried as he knew that he could finish it the next day...

Several Cape Buffalo were settled in the long grass near the shore of a portion of river, which was surprisingly tranquil under the setting sun. One of the buffalo made its way to the water's edge, giving its surroundings a good look around. Nothing moved, except the occasional bird or branch that was stirred by the cool wind. Eventually, the buffalo dipped its head to the surface of the water. There was a splash and, without making a sound himself, Rogue clamped his massive jaws around the head of the unfortunate, struggling beast and dragged it into the river. The rest of the buffalo looked up at the disturbed area where their comrade disappeared, now just a ripple and a pool of blood. They looked away, continuing their silent grazing, as Rogue dragged his prey back to his own personal strip of territory, a small reservoir that emptied from the side of the river...

Gustav walked through the trees seperating the main river he was swimming in, from another, minor one, which branched off to elsewhere in the reserve. the massive creature was somewhat out of place walking between trees, looking like some prehistoric beast from another age, the heavily armoured hide, jagged teeth, and arched, semi-erect legs making him look like one of his much more land-bound ancestors. it wasn't long before he had crossed the small batch of trees and was walking down to the river, the moonlight above reflecting off his armoured hide and making him look even more like the ancient beasts from whom he was descended. a low rattling snarl rolled in his throat as he neared the water, mulling the idea of going on a hunt for something to eat, in his head...

Rogue dragged his prey into the reservoir and began his feast, death-rolling to rip chunks of flesh away from the buffalo carcass, swallowing them whole and swiftly biting down again. The water churned and turned red with blood, but Rogue wasn't worried about other predators. They rarely ventured anywhere near his territory...

Tyretros suddenly bolted toward the herd of Zebras, seemingly appearing out of no where from within the tall grass, quickly closing the gap between himself and his prey. The Zebras, now aware of the threat, began galloping away from the approaching predator, which was exactly what the maneless lion wanted them to do. Soon the weaker members of the herd were identified...one particular Zebra lagged far behind the herd, one of its legs apparently broken. Tyretros zeroed in on the sickly Zebra, speeding toward the injured animal...

Gustav moved forward through the water, the sounds of a water struggle catching his attention. glancing in the direction of the source, he saw nothing, at first. a closer look and staring beyond the massive amount of vegetation seperating him from what he wanted to see, revealed to him a hidden body of water, a light swirl of water to one edge of it, an area of it perfectly calm in the midst of several waves, marking it as the center of whatever struggle went on mere seconds earlier. seemingly fed by the main river, though seperate and isolated. it seemed perfect to him. he would move in, find out whatever it was that had caused the noise moments ago, and drive it out or kill it, and claim this place as his home...

Nightbane yawned as he woke, staring out at the darkness, his eyes well adapted to the darkness of the evening. the sun had been down for a few hours by now, and night had totally fallen over the continent, the searing sunlight giving way to a cool, soothing evening. the nocturnal hunters would be out on the hunt now...Nightbane made sure to keep his senses tuned for any potential risk...

It didn't take long for Rogue to finish his meal, dragging the remains of his kill onto a small mud island near the edge of reservoir. The island was mostly bare and was essentially a small hill, but the top had a small grove of trees, which marked where the tide stopped whenever it rose. At certain times, the rest of the island would be completely submerged. Rogue dragged the buffalo to the top, planning to make the longer journey to store his kill in his underground cave in the day. The croc pushed himself back into the water with ease, patrolling the surface of the water and keeping out for anything that would be foolish enough or hungry enough to try and steal his prey.

Blood Scar having warmed up and rested was back in the water, patrolling his vast territory. The lone crocodile from earlier was somewhere back in the territory. He didn't mind as long as the deal between them was honored. The gigantic creature continued its patrol, there was always problems...

the predator drifted below the surface, only his reptilian eyes and nostrils breaking it as he moved further into the reservoir, in search of the predator that had killed the creature whose blood he could smell strongly in the area...

Sensing ripples through the water from an approaching animal, Rogue turned in the direction of the entrance to the reservoir, sinking all of his body except his nostrils and eyes to wait for anything that stumbled upon him. The croc stayed deathly still, patiently awaiting new potential prey.

Sarra yawned as she finally reached a boulder at the edge of the plains. She had lost track of Kita some time ago and decided to head to another part of the plains, perhaps to find a more suitable, permanent home. "Oh well, maybe tomorrow," she growled and yawned before lying out on the rock that was still warm from the sun's heat.

As the injured Zebra tried to hobble away, Tyretros came crashing down on its back, sinking his claws into its hind quarters, adding even more weight on it. The Zebra tried to kick its attacker, but as such was forced to put weight on its injured leg, causing the herbivore to stumble and fall. The maneless lion let go at the last moment, immediately pouncing on the now fallen animal, sinking his teeth into its throat. The herd of Zebra thundered away, leaving the fallen herbivore to die, the injured Zebra's breathing starting to slow...

the Croc drifted through the water silently, senses sharpened to a razor edge, trying to pinpoint the position of the predator. the fact it was in the lake meant the only logical possibilities were that it was another croc, or a very large snake, though even an Articulated Python wouldn't cause it's prey to bleed so much as to leave this much of a scent. that left a croc as the only option. but now he needed to find it, before it found him...there was no telling how big it would be. he had long ago learned not to assume he was the only giant croc around. Bloodscar and several others he had come across in the past had already taught him that...he also knew the dangers such a large predator would pose to him if he wasn't careful...

Rogue, knowing the intruder had only one way into the reservoir through the water let out a rumbling warning growl, which echoed through the water. The other predator would surely pick it up, and f it didn't leave Rogue wouldn't hesitate to attack if necessary...

Tyretros dug into the fresh carcass, the Zebra's last attempts at freedom having ended quite some time ago. The maneless lion ate freely from the corpse, blood soon covering his jaws. He knew there was a chance others would be attracted by the smell, but from what he had scented before, only the Zebras were nearby...

Gustav felt the ripples of the water, his keen senses pointing out where they were coming from, and diving down deeper, into the murky depths of the reservoir, where the other croc was less likely to spot him, intending to use the downpouring light from the moon above to show him his target, his various senses assisting him for that very purpose...

Meanwhile, Nightbane stalked the grasslands slowly and stealthily, eying a herd of resting wildebeest, one of which was sitting slightly out of the others' reach, and, from what he could see, was either injured or sick, or both, it's scent being abnormal and it's slow grazing walk showing a prominent limp, it's right hind leg being kept off the ground as much as possible, a number of moderately sized, deep gashes visible on it's hind leg, half way up, and what appeared to be a slid bite mark on the back of it's neck, most likely from another lion from an earlier confrontation. the mere sight of it sent Nightbane on high alert. the distinctly lion-like wound patterns meant there was a chance he was in a pride's territory. he'd have to be extra careful. if he was lucky, he'd be able to get the jump on the male that led the pride. if he could achieve it, he considered challenging it for dominence, attempting to take over the pride. it'd give him a more reliable survival rate, seeing as he wouldn't have to depend solely on his own kills to feed him. it would also give him the chance to find a mate, and finally start his own family. but he decided it was best not to get ahead of himself. for now, he was hunting for a meal...

Though Rogue was aware that the other croc was still in the vicinity, he moved onto the small tidal island in the middle of the reservoir to wait out the intruder. He would either have to show himself, or leave Rogue's territory...

Blood Scar proceeded to swim around, waking up from a long nap. He thought about feeding but he was going to do that later. Things had been safe in his vast territory, there were problems but they were minor and usually dealt with quickly. Competition was rare but so was conversation...everybody was against each other. Snarling as it went under, the immense croc disappeared under the surface of the water.
