Vergil reached the stronghold and helped Jack up the rope he'd thrown down for him earlier, then climbed up, gesturing for Taban to follow, as he scrambled to the top. he was positive there was a file cabinet or a large locker in there. he had glanced it through the corner of his eye when he got in there last time. not far behind them, the rasping, ratling growls of the Reaper were getting louder, it's speed giving it an advantage over the humans...

Jose chuckled as he pushed the last of the barricade in front of the door. "Hey guys, i'm gonna go down into the basement. gonna see if i can't find a lead pipe or somethin to put through the doors' handles. give us that extra bit of protection. If you need me call" he said...

"Dont get lost again" Alec said, sorting through his ammo, deciding it would be wise to ration how much bullets he uses per encounter before running..

Taban pulled on the rope, to make sure it was firm. Then, he ascended upward. He had climbed ropes in the past, several times when he was a little boy. He heard the approaching creature, and climbed a bit faster, but still keeping a firm grip.

"I won't. Just try not to get stabbed again, eh holmes?" he retorted with a chuckle as he walked towards one of the doors in the hall, opening it and entering, drawing his axe and keeping a hand on the butt of his gun in case it turned out he wasn't alone...

Vergil pulled Taban in just as the Reaper rounded the corner and got into the street, staring at where the two had gone, a massive dresser crashing down in front of the window as a deafening shriek echoed through the street, Vergil feeling a startlingly powerful thump against the dresser, the creature having seemingly leapt at them, knocking the dresser a distance from the window, Vergil's bracing the only thing keeping the creature from getting in. a ratling hiss came from behind it, Vergil looking at Taban and pointing at a moderately sized table. "Push it over! quickly!" he said. just as he said that, a blade-like tail tip tore out mere inches from his head, having impaled the dresser entirely...

Further down the hallway that Jose had now entered, a creature's head jerked up in the direction of both the door opening and the footsteps being made by the human. The creature had wandered away from it's group to look for a meal and during it's search, had made it's way into the police station through a broken window not long after it had heard the slasher flee from the building. Without making a sound, the licker began to make it's way in the direction of the sound, crawling on the walls slowly to make it's approach harder for it's possible prey to hear...

Charles, having pushed the desk against the barricade as well, sighed and sat down on a misplaced office chair, which was now seemingly in the middle of the room...

Jose continued walking down the hall, axe at the ready, nearing a corner that turned off for a set of stairs that led to the basement...

Taban pushed on the table. It was heavy, but manageable. His adrenaline helped his strength as he pushed it against the dresser, pushing as hard as he could. He scanned the room for more objects to block the creature's way. Hopefully he could get enough to block the creature's entry...

The licker's senses of hearing and smell let it know that the human was coming closer to it. It continued to crawl on the walls, getting itself ready to attack as Joses's footfalls continued to get louder...

Jose went around the corner, carefully moving down the stairs and into the basement, the garage in clear view now. there wasn't much to see here apart from the garage door and the side entrance which he had blocked off personally. he looked around the room, beginning to search for a long, prefferably steel-made object to seal the main entrance...

Vergil moved away from the dresser just as the bladed tail top ripped through it again, right where his spine had been mere fractions of a second ago. another powerful thump knocked the dresser, a loud ratling sound being heard as clothing, hangers and various other contents clattered to the floor of it, but it wouldn't budge. a low snarl was heard from the creature behind it, before all fell silent...

The licker, now realizing that Jose was getting further away, silently continued to follow him through it's sense of smell, now aware that the sound of the footsteps had stopped. It didn't take it long for it to reach the area in which the human had gone down the stairs and it followed the scent downward, soon noticing that the scent was once again getting stronger and realizing it would soon be close enough to be able to make an attack as long as it's possible prey didn't realize it was being followed and decided to remain silent...

the wreckage of an overturned police car, which had most likely flipped as it skidded into the downward slope that entered the police station garage, seemed to have some noteworthy bits of rather thick metal that could be of some use. out of curiosity, he checked the driver's seat, making sure there wasn't something dangerous hiding in there before he tried to salvage anything from the car's upwards facing bowels. inside, trapped among the wreckage from all sides, was a a pair of twisted steep pipes, and a heavily decayed, mangled police officer's corpse, his eyes having shrivelled up into his skull from decay, bloody teeth in full view, half his faced torn off. the pipes' condition was difficult to determine, locked within the wreckage of the car, the majority of the vehicle's weight on the front, meaning the odds of getting the object out were slim to none. deciding it best to just ignore it, he looked at the car itself. after several minutes of searching, it turned out that there wasn't anything there that wouldn't be extremely difficult to remove. it'd need alot of tools, and in some cases, would be too heavy for him to move alone. giving up, he began looking towards the walls, looking for a few pipes which he could pull or knock loose. two or three medium sized lead pipes were just as good as one large one. though being alone after feeling the security of being with other people for the first time since Ben disappeared had made him nervous and slightly on edge, completely alert to his surroundings, almost expecting a sound...

The licker still had Joses's scent and it now knew that he hadn't moved from his new location yet. After crawling along the wall for another minute, it reached the basement and the human's scent was now very strong. The licker didn't drop to the floor, but instead quietly moved up the wall it was currently on and began to crawl on the ceiling, now using it's sense of smell to follow the human, which wasn't making any loud noises at this time...

Jose finally founded a few pipes that seemed suitable. the reached down from the cieling and went into the wall, with one of the sealing points of the pipes being just above a series of valves. he put his axe away and pulled his sledgehammer out from behind his back, spacing himself decently from the wall and glancing right and left. he had a nasty feeling he wasn't alone. he decided to get it overwith before something happened to make his job more difficult. he took a powerful swing at the pipes, a loud clang echoing throughout the garage with deafening intensity as one pipe was knocked loose, clattering on the floor noisily as the other two were brought to near breaking point. the noise was so loud it still rang in his ears, but he wasted no time, taking another blow, an even louder clang being heard as he knocked the other two loose and grabbed all three, turning around to leave...

The clangs made from Jose stricking the pipes caused some minor pain to the licker's ears and made it pause for a few seconds while the pain subsided, with the noises being very loud to it's sharp hearing. It crawled closer to where the scent was coming from and without a sound, the licker's mouth opened and out shot it's tounge, which crossed the distance between it's owner and the target with suprising speed before the tip pierced Jose's right shoulder, although it wasn't enough to deal a crippling blow with one hit. Jerking it's head towards the floor in it's upside down state, the licker jerked it's tounge loose and brought it back to it's mouth before dropping to the floor, turning itself so that it's belly faced the floor when it landed...

Jose gasped from the sudden pain. he KNEW he wasn't alone. he swung around and swung the sledgehammer down on the licker, hitting it in the back to the side of the spine, the immense force at least enough to shatter a few bones as he swiftly ran past the creature, hammer in tow, pulling it up and charging back up the stairs, trying to get back to the others, trying his best to ignore the pain in his shoulder...

The licker snarled in pain from the blow that the sledge hammer dealt to it, although it didn't do anything fatal. The creature wanted to pursue Jose, but it was wary of the powerful blow and knew that it could possibly end up having a fatal blow dealt to it. Hissing angrily, the creature headed in the direction of the garage door and after it reached out with it's left front foot, realized that there was a surface to climb. Climbing up the garage door, it soon reached the windows that were above the door and it once again reached out with it's left front foot to test for any opening's and it felt that one of the windows was broken. The licker crawled through the opening, although it just barley managed to fit through it, and out into the open once again, intending to hunt for less dangerous prey...

as soon as Jose got through the door and into the hall, he leaned back against it, looking at the other two. "Looks like we've still got visitors" he said. he walked over to a chair and yanked it over with his intact arm, putting it at an angle under the door handle, so that pushing it open would be impossible, even IF the creature could figure out how to open it. Jose took off his bag and dug around inside for some first aid supplies. he had 2 or 3 bandage rolls in there, but decided to use ony one. he looked over at Charles, seeing as he was the only one of them intact. "hey, could you gimme a hand, esse?" he asked...

"Ya...sure...this day is looking worse and worse." Charles mumbled, two of the three of them now injured. Pulling out the rubbing alcohol once again, Charles took another tattered, yet clean, cloth from his pocket, putting a small amount of the alcohol on it before dabbing at the wounds on Jose's back, cleaning them once again to prevent infection. Taking the bandage Jose was holding, Charles wrapped it across his back, covering the wounds as best as he could, to prevent further exposure or harm, before stepping back. "There...try not to let anything happen to it until it heals. Don't go wandering off alone unless you want to die next time." Charles commented, said comment aimed at both Jose and Alec...

"Sure thing, Doc" responded Jose sarcastically as he carefully put his sledge hammer back where it belonged, taking the metal bars he retrieved from the garage and putting it through the handles of the main entrance's double doors, the three long bars easily enough to ensure that anything that wanted to get in would have to blow the doors off completely. the fact they were solid oak meant that the odds of that morning's attack happening again were slim to none. "Now that the front door's secure....let's make sure the back door is too" he said, walking back towards the chair he had pinned against the door, digging in his bag again, pulling out a hammer and a couple of nails. he then began hammering the first nail through the bottom of the chair's ground-placed legs and into the ground...
