Out at sea, a group of pirates manning a mangled, out of date naval vessel they had attempted to reconstruct, sailed on, the group exploiting the chaotic nature of the world, visiting ruined cities to find anything useful. Though they were reckless, they were not outright stupid; they avoided the more monster-populated areas completely. Now, many of the crew on board began pointing at the sea around them, which now took on a sickly green, glowing color, but not simply in one spot. The pirates remained cautious, makeshift weapons at the ready, just as the water began to churn violently.
"Get us the hell out of here! NOW!" yelled the captain, knowing full well they had stumbled into yet another monster. It was common...but nonetheless frightening. A few crudely salvaged weapons mounted on the deck opened fire, tank-like shells crashing into the roaring waters in an attempt to drive whatever it was away. A dark shape began to emerged as the vessel chugged away, a few shells exploding against its emerging neck. The reptilian beast's head was now visible, teeth baring at the sight of the pirates...its mouth began to fill with a white, blinding light, the pirates acted more panicked with each passing second.
Just as the beast was about to open its maw, a single tank shell exploded against its bared fangs, smoke covered the monster's face for a moment, before the glowing stopped. The monster, eyes still fixed on the ship, slowly lowered itself back into the water, the churning stopping almost completely after the last of its bulk disappeared. The pirates relaxed in unison, shaken from the encounter, although they had escaped unscathed. Just as the captain was about to bark an order, the entire ship shuddered violently, causing its crew to freeze. Without warning, the ship broke in two, both parts being yanked into the water as violently as they were broken, hurling the crew in all directions, the large vessel torn apart like it was nothing but a toy. As the occupants burned alive in the boiling hot waters, a deep, otherworldly roar echoed in the abyss...
