John looked at Vergil and said,"That mall? They had the best hotdogs in the world!" He made sure he was prepared to leave and got ready at the door. He started to wait for Vergil. Going alone would be suicide.

Vergil unhooked the chain holding the door shut, and pushed it open a crack, checking for anything that might cause trouble. finding nothing, he pushed the massive steel door open, pulling out the large key that locked it. once they were out, he locked it, then headed for the entrance. handgun in hand, the key zipped shut in a handy pocket inside his longer coat so that it wouldn't fall out if he fell for some reason. sure the odds were slim, but these days, it was the 'just in case' decisions that made the difference between life and death...he didn't intend to end up with he latter because of a lousy wardrobe choice. "Let's go" said Vergil, as he headed out of the building an down the street, using the safety of brick walls to cover him from one end while he kept his eyes on the other...

Once the Hellhounds had left the area, the undead gorilla let out a disappointed growl when it saw that the Leaper was out of reach. Turning around, it began to walk away once again in search of something else to serve as a meal...

Rachell ran. She had to get away. Her heart was pumping as she vaulted over the cars. The beast following her looked hungry. She ran through a riuned restaurant. The door had been torn off its hinges. The restaurant was filled with blood and the leftovers of a creature's feast. She ran into the kitchen hoping there was something she could use against the monster. She knocked down a nearby stand. She hoped it would atleast slow the creature. She picked up a nearby kitchen knife. It was her only weapon now. The beast tripped over the nocked over stand and hit the wall with a CRACK! The crack came from the creature's back or neck. Just to be safe, Rachell stabbed the monster in the head multiple times, to make sure it was dead. Rachell dropped the knife and walked into the dining room area. She then said to herself,"I can't believe I made it!"

Vergil stopped when he reached one of the Mall's many parking lots. "You go ahead. i'll cover the rear. keep your eyes open and don't forget your sides" he whispered to John, and wrapped around his gun in his jacket. he had found that alot of the zombies and monsters were capable of learning, and the ones that knew what guns did typically attacked as fast and silent as possible. since one event that nearly killed him, he always avoided drawing his weapon before he could see an enemy...

John nodded and crept to the mall's glass doors. The doors were smeared with blood with only small spots that John could look through. When he saw what was inside, he was absolutely horrified. Zombies were everywhere. Some were fighting for rotten corpses, while others were gazing blankly into parts of the mall unseen. John turned towards Vergil and whispered to him, still in shock, "There's a f*cking zombie convention in there! I've never seen so many zombies in my life! Unless you want to fight our way into there, I suggest we should look for another place to loot."

Mumbling in his sleep, The Leaper shifted around, trying to find a comfortable spot to lay as his arm slowly regrew.

Sniffing,The Slasher growled as no new foes have appeared yet. Jumping back into his nest in the same way as before, The Slasher quickly fell asleep after rolling into a ball.

"Relax. only reason we're here is because this was the easiest way to get this close without being eaten. there are easier ways to actually get enside the building...it's only this entrance and another on the opposite side that are this crowded. most of them are alot quieter" whispered Vergil...

"Okay, as long as they don't lead us into a parade of zombies, I'll go." John replied to Vergil.

walking along the wall of the building, among the unused shopping carts, Vergil soon reached a second entrance. blood smeared the ground and what glass was still intact, the doors mangled beyond recognition, bullet holes all over the walls, metal and some of the intact glass that hadn't shattered from the shots. despite the state of the place, not a zombie could be seen. a heavy haze was still floating in the air from the early morning cool weather. "Here we are...now...first up...we need to find some food. we'll leave medical supplies till last. everyone makes them high priorities, so pharmacies become feeding grounds for the zombies waiting for people to horde there for it. it's the place we're most likely to end up being chased at. so we need to get what we can of other supplies before taking on them. you got anything you need in particular?" he whispered...

unknown to them....something WAS watching....but for now, simply watched...

"Where'd it go?" asked Jose confusedly. the creature had simply fallen silent...and possibly even left...

John whipered back to Vergil "I don't need anything right now. Except for survival." John then asked "How are we going to get some suff through the stores with the alarms? I know food doesn't have the barcode stickers but, what about the other things we need?"

Vergil chuckled lowly, genuinely amused at the comment. "These scrap heaps haven't worked for ages. electricity went out in the first few weeks of the outbreak. the alarms won't go off" he said. "now, we need food, water, medical supplies, and a few random extras. food's best canned, but bottled works too. powdered eggs would work if you can find them, but if not, nevermind. the less preparation the food requires, the more valuable. we need to avoid needing to cook things if we can help it. we don't want things tracking the smell of smoke to our safehouse. drinks of any kind will do, but if you're lucky enough to find water, make it a priority over anything else. soft drinks and other majorly artificial drinks are better. they keep longer. band aids and other general medical supplies might be available on the shelves in the hygiene section. if you see aerosol cans of any kind, bring them with you. same for lighters and matches. put those two together and you have a mini flamethrower. good for killing and sanitising smaller infected pests like rats. duct tape, a small mirror or two if you can find them, any kind of alchohol, rags for patching up wounds. don't lose track of me for any reason. if you see something moving let me know. tap on the shoulder. no voice contact unless absolutely nessecary. weather's gonna get cold soon. Autumn's coming in. you're gonna need something heavier to wear. leather or denim, or something equally durable. last thing we want is one of us to drop because of a common cold or flu in a situation like this. Remember that most of these things we probably won't find. we'll be lucky to find anything at all. whatever the case, if we can't find what we need here, we move to the next place. if you have a watch that's still working, 1:30 PM we head back for the safehouse"...

A very quiet voice, echoing from within the mall, sounded, obviously in the distance, but definitely not a zombie: "Yes yes good yes very good yes yes very good yes good very very good yes yes yes..."

John replied, "Nice to hear the alarms won't work. I'll keep an eye out for the supplies you mentioned." John then thought to himself, That is a really long list of things to watch for, I wish I had a notepad and pen handy.

Vergil moved forward silently, hearing the voice but ignoring it....for now. it'd be a zombie magnet. whoever was making the noise was as good as dead, and he had no intention of putting himself on the line because some fool hadn't learned how to survive by now. distant shuffling could be heard, and a strange, rasping, gurgling breathing could be heard a few dozen feet away, most likely a zombie who'd lost it's throat or had it's face caved in, judging by the sound. what he DIDN'T notice however, was the spy from the shadows several feet away, on a higher floor, listening in to what little noise there was from their movements, hiding in the darkness of a jewelry shop. following his mental map, he went right, in the opposite direction to where the voice was coming from, heading in the direction of the food supplies in the general purpose department store within the mall. there he knew the isles should have everything he needed. he didn't expect to find much, though minor things like hairspray and other aerosol products would likely be somewhat more abundant than vital things like food and water. the odds of finding lighters were slim, as were the odds for matches, as fire was a very handy tool. tape would also be very rare if there was any at all. there were many uses for adhesive materials like that. he knew that there would likely not be any water, in any form that was usable. a mirror they could probably find, seeing as not many people would think of a use for something like that. his previous experience getting medical supplies had taught him that if there were any left, it was likely there'd be hell to go through to get to them. he had no choice but to hope for the best and prepare for the worst...

The slasher slowly awoke.Time to visit some old enemies. It jumped out the window and stalked through the shadows, heading for the old police station, his eyes absorbing the light as his heavy feet were surprisingly quiet.

Down below in the dark there is no use in sight so mainly they used their other senses to find their prey but their hunting ground had nothing left they had to rise to the top and find new prey. So they found an opening and forced their way through to the top. When they entered the open they spread out like a wave searching for new hosts for their offspring though they tried to keep together. They found the occasional zombie which they ripped through and turned into a corpse and then moved on, but they needed fresh meat to breed great numbers. So they continued on wandering about for such a host using their telepathy to detect brainwaves like a homing beacon, the Ripper Worms had risen.

arriving at the department store, Vergil began to slowly walk across the isles, making sure to check before rounding a corner, and keeping some attention above in case something was on the top of the shelves waiting, all the while trying to find a sign of something remotely useful...

Wandering about in the darkness outside, The Berserker searches for prey. His jaws ready to bite into a victim, and his limbs bulging with impatience, the berserker, along with a couple of Assimilators, wander about and find a department store. Hoping to find some prey in there, the berserker knocks the door in with one punch. the door hits the floor with a loud thud. the berserker and the assimilators wander into the building, looking for prey........

The sound of manic, gibbering laughter reached Vergil's ears, and a hunched-over figure scurried past one of the aisles....
