@ Dm: due to Mini-shot's abandonment, you have the green light to split off his character from mine. no killing, but something to split it off. if you don't do it soon though, i will...

Vergil turned his head to face towards the source of the noise, spotting it through the corner of his eye...

OOC: That's what Jockies are good for. :P

Suddenly, a hunch-backed humanoid figure leaped over one of the shelves near Vergil and John, laughing maniacally as it pounced on John's shoulders, wrapping its arms around his head and tugging at him, making him stumble away from Vergil, all the while trying to claw the man's face...

An assimilator hears the tussle and clambers over to an aisle. It spots a human (vergil) and slowly slithers towards him, its crab claw head opening its mouth to chomp on him........

Vergil moved, trying to get towards the supplies while evading the Zombie that had attacked his friend, and the worm, which he noticed almost at the last minute, kicking it away before taking aim at the Jockey, just as it went around the corner, taking the friend with it, a large amount of shuffling not far away hinting that there was little chance of him rescuing John. cursing, he moved onwards, knowing he had to keep moving if he wanted to get the supplies and get out without being killed. as he passed several isles, he found the first of numerous things he needed; a fallen, foldable mirror. grabbing it, he put it in his pocket, and continued onwards, a thump not too far away making his blood run cold, freezing to stare back at the source, though it wasn't visible yet...it was a fair distance away, but whatever it was, it was big. deciding he didn't want to hang around and find out, he moved onwards, being as swift and silent as possible...

Not far behind, something large was tracking the human, having come down from the second floor and looking towards where the human went. a low aknowledging growl came from the beast, as he began to track his target...

The assimilator, knocked off the shelf but otherwise unhurt from the kick, shakes its head and slithers after Vergil with surprising speed, hungry for prey.......

The Berserker hears the action as well, sending the spare assimilator to hunt on its own. The Berserker slowly lumbers towards the source of the noise, and tears down a shelf blocking his way towards Vergil......

OOC: If you want to kill the assimilator (the worm thing that first attacked Vergil), that's fine, since there are a lot of them.

Vergil's attention is drawn by the sound, the man suddenly turning his head towards it. this wasn't good. hearing the slimey riggling sounds of the Assimilator, he turns to look at it, before grabbing a stray shopping cart and rolling it at the creature in an attempt to crush it, dashing down a random isle without bothering to wait. he knew that he had at least one large enemy after him, possibly two. he didn't have the time to waste with a worm...

the tall, coat-clad beast walked towards the source of the noise, silent aside from the steady thudding of it's large boots against the ground, the beast speeding up after the sounds, not intending to let anything come between him and his meal...

The Assimilator is hit by the shopping cart and hisses in pain as a peice of metal hanging off the cart impales it. Stuck to the cart, it attempts to free itself. The Berserker runs past the assimilator, in hot pursuit of the human.......

Near the back of the store, a storage closet's door opened, and a frizzled-looking man poked his head out, seeing Vergil running down the aisle. "Over here!" he called. "Get inside!"

glancing towards the call Vergil ran towards the storage room, diving in and pulling the door shut behind him, just as something large slammed out of an isle behind the charging Berserker, swinging a powerful arm into numerous abandoned shopping carts which flew out and slammed into the isle across from it, a low rumbling snarl coming from the Nemesis as he glanced towards the Berserker, which was charging directly at him, the Nemesis having entered between the Berserker and his intended target. the beast's eye narrowed as he stared menacingly at the Berserker, having no intention of letting it take his meal...

The Berserker glares at the Nemesis, not willing to let this thing take his prey either. The Berserker lets out a deafening scream, and charges Nemesis with a enough speed to knock the Zombie back a bit.

The inside of the storage room was lined with shelves, al stocked with various things, apparently pulled from elsewhere in the mall. The areas of wall space where there weren't any shelves were covered in graffiti, specifically "Better safe than sorry" and "The blood is the life" written over and over. The man, a crowbar in one hand and a crude black notebook in the other, smiled sheepishly, as if embarrassed. "I do apologize for my children's behavior. They have been very unruly as of late." Putting the crowbar in a worn-looking wicker chair, the man extended his hand. "R.M. Renfield, my friend! So good to meet you!"

"your....children?" was Vergil's only respond as he shook the strange man's hand, staring somewhat bewildered at his surroundings...

Nemesis snarled as he braced himself for the impact, catching the charging beast and skidding back several feet before stopping, before tightening his grip around the monster, snarling with the effort as he tossed it sideways, causing it to stumble from it's efforts to charge, sending it colliding with the corner of an isle, the Nemesis snarling irrtably at the attacking Berserker...

Renfield nodded solemnly. "Yes, yes, and they have been very naughty, haven't they?" Chuckling, he sat down in the wicker chair, saying, "And who might you be, who has wandered into my humble abode?"

The berserker spins out of control as it slams into an aisle, knocking down all the shelves in it. The berserker pulls itself to its feet and lets out another deafening scream. With surprising speed for a creature of its size, it delivers a devestating punch with enough force to knock the zombified titan back from the strike. The Berserker then attempts to jab Nemesis with his long, sharp tusks.......

"Uh.....call me Vergil...." said Vergil simply, being wary of the person across from him, his hands in his pockets and gripping his guns tightly....he didn't want to fall victim to an opportunistic pickpocket now...

Nemesis snarled as the creature tried to jab him, wrapping a powerful hand around one of the tusks as it was thrust at him, yanking up and to the side before delivering a powerful punch in the creature's neck, knocking it back before kicking it, knocking the creature backwards several feet...

"Well Vergil, you may want to sit tight for a bit," Renfield said, hearing the crashes as the two behemoths fought outside. "A bit of sibling rivalry, I'm afraid." Opening up the notebook and pull a pen from his pocket, Renfield began scribbling away in the pages, muttering, "Yes yes very good yes very good very very good yes yes yes..."

The Berserker yelps in surprise as he is knocked backwards. It raises itself shakily back to its feet, hissing angrily at the zombie. The Berserker roars and grapples the nemesis, slamming him to the ground, all the while thrusting his tusks at the zombie's gut........

Elsewhere, a lone human waits in the shadows, a coupls of assimilators wandering about the small drugstore he is hiding in.......

Nemesis snarled as several spear like tendrils thrust forward from his hands, impaling the Berserker's shoulders for several feet, the beast snarling as the tendrils pushed it back, Nemesis rising up and slamming the Berserker into an isle, knocking the isle over and slamming the Berserker down several times, before tossing it over his shoulder, the tendrils retracting as the Berserker was thrown away, re-entering Nemesis' arms and disappearing fro view as the behemoth turned around, a low gutteral snarl coming from him as he began to make his way forward towards the creature...

Vergil was getting more disturbed with every minute he spent with the guy in front of him. trying to distract himself from the eerie ramblings of the man, Vergil began to look around at his surroundings for anything useful...

Wounded, but not ready to give up yet, the berserker lets out a screech that can be heard throughout the store. Suddenly, the extra assimilator (the one not impaled to the shopping cart) comes and lunges at the Nemesis, wrapping its tentacles around the Zombie's neck, pulling it down to the ground. The Berserker tears a metal support beam for one of the aisles and uses it as a spear against his vastly superior foe in both strength and intellegence. He gets the support beam and stabs it down, impaling both Nemesis and the assimilator's head, which accidentally kills his ally.

Victor, walking slowly behind one of the counters in the drugstore, looks around the side and spots an assimilator coming straight towards him. He readies his machete to action. The assimilator sticks its ghastly, crab claw head over the counter, only to be met with a machete to the neck, slicing the horrid thing off, killing the assimilator instantly. The other assimilator sees his ally go limp, and slithers over to the counter. Victor makes a break for it, pulling out his pistol and runs from behind the counter. The assimilator slithers fter the human, hungry for flesh, tentacles lashing about. Victor slashes off a couple that come close to him, and he shoots the assimilator in the chest, hurting it enough for it to retreat, allowing Victor to rest against a wall.
