Nemesis snarled, purplish blood trickling from the wound, the beast slowly raising an arm up and wrapping his hand around the support beam, the beam being crushed with startling ease in the Nemesis' grip, before bending it and pulling it loose, tossing it aside, the beast kicking the Berserker back several feet, straightening to his full height as he unleashed an enraged roar. infuriated, Nemesis charged forward, swinging a massive arm into one of the Berserker's in an attempt to force it to fall, tendrils extending from Nemesis' arm and ripping into the Berserker's, trying to cripple the limb...

Renfield glanced at Vergil from behind his round spectacles. "Well, aren't you going to sit down? You must need food and rest, no?" He waved his hand at a shelf with lines of canned and sealed food. "And don't worry, I can lead you safely away from here," he added.

the Berserker screams in pain, and bites through the tendrils with his razor sharp teeth. Feeling that fighting isn't worth it, the berserker grabs the corpse of the assimilator and flees to a safer area to eat his fellow zombie......

However, the assimilator stuck to the shopping cart was still alive. It tears the cart to peices and follows the berserker out of the department store.

with a groan of pain, Nemesis went down on one knee, the tendrils in his arm writhing violently, a yellowish liquid being secreted from the wounds...

Vergil reached for several tins in supplies, placing a few in his coat pockets and taking a seat, opening a tin of peaches, eating a couple of slices before freezing, listening to the eerie silence outside. "the fight's stopped...we need to get out of here...quick" he said in a forced whisper...

"In a hurry, are we?" said Renfield with a grin. "Very well. Follow me." Standing up and putting the notebook away, he snuck over to the door, crowbar in hand. Opening the door a crack, he could see the wounded Nemesis, its back to them. Renfield swiftly crept out the door and in the opposite direction, beckoning Vergil to follow him as he moved towards the entrance...

The Berserker finds himself a secluded spot to eat the dead assimilator. He bites into the zomibe, tearing bits of flesh off the creature, blood pouring out as the beast violently eats it.

The other assimilator, lost in the city, tries to follow the sent of the berserker. It meets a wounded assimilator and the 2 of them stick together, searching for prey.......

as the two survivors walked out of the storage room, the Nemesis stirred, adjusting as it raised it's head to look back, Vergil's skin going pale as his blood ran cold at the site of the crouched beast, which had it's back to him. without so much as a word he moved into the isles, pulling Renfield with him and trying to be as quiet as possible, as Nemesis made an irritable snarl, slowly rising to his feet, the sting of the wounds to the tendrils still slowing his movement...

Renfield peeked through the shelves at the Nemesis, clenching his fists around the crowbar and waiting for the monstrous zombie to move off...

the Nemesis straightened, his attention mostly caught by the click of the door a few seconds earlier, turning towards the storage room thinking they might be inside, trying to sneak away, walking towards the allmost closed doorand slamming an arm into it, shattering it, staring inside at the empty storage room. snarling, the beast looked around, taking in the scents, trying to trace the humans...

Vergil meanwhile had no intention of staying there and letting it sniff them out. he began to move further down the isle, pulling Renfield with him, being careful of where he stepped and making sure to be absolutely silent, thankful the tins of food in his pockets weren't sharing the pockets he kept the guns in, meaning no unneeded clanking was heard as he moved carefully down the isle in a beeline for the exit to the department store...

the low thudding of the beast's heavy footsteps could be heard as it began to move towards the isle, considering the fact that all the other isles were just too close to him for him to have missed them escaping...

Renfield quietly pulled a jar from the jacket he was wearing, which was filled with a greenish-yellow liquid. Has he moved with Vergil towards the store door, he placed the jar on the top of a shelf at the very edge, so it would eventually fall by itself as the pair snuck away...

Victor walks quietly out of the drugstore, trying to find a new shelter.....

He sees the horde moving about and quickly jumps into a dumpster, hiding from potential adversaries. He loads his magnum and lights a cigarette he stole, hoping for the best.......

as the two reached the end of the isle Vergil turned, pulling Renfield with him just as Nemesis entered it, though the beast had more or less detected them, increasing it's stride and moving towards them. the door was within sight, Vergil hoping he could get through it before the Nemesis began his pursuit, though a snarl made that hope fade as the Nemesis walked out of the isle, staring right at the two...

The Nemesis' thudding footfalls was more than enough to cause the jar to topple off the shelf and shattered, releasing a green cloud from the liquid that pooled on the floor. The liquid was Boomer bile, and Renfield doubted even the Nemesis could resist staying near the stench of the liquid for very long. On top of that, it seemed every zombie in the area was also converging on the department store now, and would probably brutally attack the Nemesis if it got in the way...

OOC: Dm, zombies are attracted by Boomer Bile, but here, they won't abandon living, breathing survivors right in front of them for a puddle on the ground. these things aren't very intelligent, but they're more so than bad AI. forget whatever L4D taught you about Boomer Bile. here, it lures them toward you, not away from you.

Nemesis snarled at the two, giving a momentary glance at the strong smelling liquid, before roaring at the two. "Let's MOVE!" said Vergil, gripping Renfield's arm tightly and pulling him as he charged out the door of the department store, willing to abandon the plan to collect supplies if it would keep him alive. Nemesis snarled and charged after them, knocking aside a shopping cart as he pursued them...

Alec recoiled from the door way. He had been on alert incase the zombie came back, but it seemed to have gone off, as strange as that was. It was, to Alec, about to sound the alarm for the Noctournals and all other damned spawns of hell that were around the police station. "Damn damn..." Alec muttered to himself. He had a feeling their wasnt about to be so safe any more...

Renfield relented and let Vergil drag him along, shouting, "Through there!" he pointed at a door to the side of the mall, which led to a service corridor. Shamblers were congregating on the department store, but those who spotted the two humans running off shuffled after them instead...

Vergil turned towards the service corridor, wrenching the door open andyanking it as he ran, slamming it behind them to try and stall the zombies...

Meanwhile, a couple of runners had joined the pursuit, turning towards the door, unwittingly entering the Nemesis' path. snarling, the Nemesis swung an arm into the closer of the two, the sheer force of it smashing it's upper torso apart in a shower of blood, the wounds already on the body being stretched obscenely by the broken bones, broken ribs jutting out of what part of the chest was hit, the zombie barrelling sideways and smashing right into a large concrete plant pot, several shufflers congregating on the mangled zombie as the Nemesis continued onwards, closing in on the door, the other zombie, and the survivors...

Renfield ran ahead of Vergil, shouting, "I believe this is the way out!" He kicked the door at the other end open, only to back up in fright, accidentally bumping into Vergil. However, the only sound in the adjacent area was the sound of a woman weeping...

Nemesis swung his arm into the second zombie in his path, sneding it tumbling off and into a Christmas tree set up for the previous year's christmas...just as the Outbreak started. Nemesis reached the door, snarling as he gave it a sharp punch, leaving a serious dent in the metal door...

"What're you stopping for?!" said Vergil, barely containing a forced whisper, as a loud bang was heard at the end of the service corridor, Nemesis breaking it down...

Renfield jumped at the thud, thought for a moment, then ran inside the candy store that was just outside the service corridor, not saying a word as he headed closer to the weeping...
