Nick took the gun, flipped off the safety, and pointed it down the hall. "Alright, follow me, and let's get this over with... uh, what's your name again?"

Vergil looked at the man for a moment, as he removed his handgun's clip and slipped two more bullets into it, before replacing the clip, finally saying "Vergil. you?"...

"Name's Nick. Nice job out there, Vergil," Nick replied. "Now then, let's do some pest control, shall we?"

"Sure....but don't shoot if you don't need to...the less noise we make the better" responded Vergil as he began to walk, his eyes by this point having adjusted reasonably to the dark...

Nick followed Vergil into the apartment, eyes darting around the shadows. "Whitaker, the guy I was talking about, is a floor up. Let's see if we can find him. The faster, the better."

"That really depends on his condition" answered Vergil, moving onwards warily, a combat knife drawn from a sheath under his trench, held forward under the handgun to make stabbing easier...

"Hey, look on the bright side," Nick replied quietly. "If he's dead, we can just take whatever hasn't already been stolen out of his room."

"I'm worried about having to fight him for it...one way or another" responded Vergil quietly, as they neared the stairs, Vergil being careful to check the corners and doorways before passing them, his ears focused and searching for any sound of breathing, shuffling, snarling, bleeding or even salivating, anything that may hint to the presence of a zombie of any kind...

Before Nick could reply, he heard the muffled sounds of gunshots from the floor above the two. "Did you hear that? Let's check it out!"

Vergil followed close behind, but remained careful, not wanting to be caught by some stray zombie seperated from the horde...

Nick jogged to the other end of the hall. All the doors were shut and probably locked on this level. One door at the far end was ajar, and Nick opened it all the way, only to bump into the back of a shambler, which was staring up the staircase on the other side of the door. It quickly turned around however, moaning horribly as it moved towards Nick, who had stumbled backwards in surprise and fallen on his back...

moving forward, Vergil tilted to one side as he avoided an attempted scratch and jammed the blade in the creature's forehead, before kicking it back, the creature falling backwards as Vergil wiped the blade off on a small table cloth at one side of him, before reaching a hand for Nick to grab onto. "Slow and steady man, slow and steady. you don't want to be scratched or bitten by one of those things" he commented...

Charles tried to keep pace with Alec, looking around uneasily. "Uh...isn't it a bit...you know, stupid? To be out in the open like this? I...I really like living." Charles questioned nervously, looking over his shoulder. Sure, nothing could hide from them...but at the same time, they couldn't hide from it either, whatever horrors awaited in the park...

"As long as you DON'T try and maroon me, and pay me back for the ammo i spend saving your ***, we can call it even" responded Vergil simply, getting back into a stance that'd allow him to move forward easily, holding the gun with his left hand, over the arm, which was holding the knife, checking the room for any sign of something hiding in a corner, before continuing...

Nick simply nodded and followed Vergil up the stairs. There had been a few more gunshots before the shambler had attacked, but all seemed to be quiet now...

The creature stalking Alec and Charles had moved out of the cover of the buildings, and towards the outskirts of the park to the side of the two humans, ready to set up an ambush...

Vergil moved carefully, eying corners and doorways as he moved onwards, stopping after a few feet and signalling for Nick to lead, Vergil not knowing where to go...

Jose meanwhile, was using vehicles as cover, walking through a semi-empty street, the occasional shuffler visible in dark corners, swaying almost drunkenly, rotting jaws agape, teeth jutting in random directions, their milky eyes staring endlessly into the dead abyss that was the city ahead, chunks of flesh missing from various points across their bodies, some of it eaten off by other zombies while the rest had rotten off as a result of the condition. Jose shuddered to think of what they had felt in their final hours before turning into the undead walking corpses that they had fought off for a period of time ranging from a few days to a few months, some of them, like himself, having heroically fought off the creatures for a whole year before becoming victims of starvation, a lack of weapons or one close call too many. he held his hatchet close, knowing a gunshot would be the end of him if he risked it here...

(OOC: Hope this is a good first post for my character. I'll edit it if anything is wrong. This is the first time i ever did a human-like RP.)

Somewhere in a semi-empty alley. A small group of the more dumber and slower zombies were staggering and stumbling around like drunk people with no jobs. they knew there was fresh still living prey near by, but were unable to get it. Due to they're horrible lack of intelligence and stupidity, but even if they knew how too they couldn't, for the fire escape ladder was already covered.

Who was up there? Riker S Callard. Ex-Corrections Officer, Ex-Mercenary and finally. Survivalist. He had been up there for over fifteen minutes, not due to the zombies being too much for him to handle, but mainly so he could have some peace and be out of reach so he could read the paper map he had unfolded and was looking at. This was not some huge atlas map though, it was only a map of New York City. He a non native there and not been there for long. Hell, before he was even able to buy a new home and apply for a job, these smelly walking freaks started to show up, he didn't know how this all start, all he knew is it appeared to be some short of infection or something, for whenever one of these freaks bit someone, that person suddenly started to smell like roadkill and tried chewing your throat out. Though really. He didn't care how it came to be this. He never cared too much for medical crap.

He really didn't know where he was going. All he knew was he was looking for either a Police Station or a Prison. Even though both places are either full of zombies or survivors likely raided the places, he did have an idea that might work. At lest to his thought, but when he finds the paces he is looking for, he'll find out weither his plan will work out or not....

Nick headed up the stairs, and opened the door. The second floor was identical to the first, and Nick paused for a moment, before one of the side doors exploded outward. A horribly deformed, mutated zombie charged through the opening, its left arm shriveled and useless, but its right gigantic, thick-skinned, and scarred. The zombie held a somewhat old man in its meaty hand, slamming him into the wall before repeatedly smashing the screaming human into the floor. "SH*T!" Nick shouted, raising his pistol and firing on the Charger...

Vergil opened fire at the Charger, making use of it's distraction with the human to plug it's face with bullets, firing three rounds, the first hitting it in the lower jaw, the other two hitting their mark, ripping into the side of the creature's upper skull, right through where the brain would be...
