"I am afraid I cannot. You see, we have all been trapped here for years...quite boring, really. My siblings may now possess a way off of this planet, but we are still without transport." the small machine said, starting to float backwards. "I suggest, my metal friends, that you back away from your comrade..." it added, though there was still no sign of the droid...

"Human ingenuity taken too far. In our strive to better defending ourselves, the very idea of which was conceived after an invasion your faction helped carry out, my superiors created what appeared to be the ultimate form of adaptive technology...but little did they know, that technology had a mind of its own." the ship responded, speaking now with a very obvious amount of hatred toward the TGDA members before it...

The droids complied, backing further away. "Let's get out of here. We can arrange for pickup when that thing is far away..."

"Playing the blame game now, eh?" Sassk muttered to himself. Turning back to the console, he hissed, "Excuse me, but my 'leader' wishes to speak with you..."

Grievous pulled out a holographic transmitter, Lissarkh and the commandos setting up a defensive perimeter around him while he prepared to speak to Shadow Haven...

A large hologram of Grievous appeared on Sassk's bridge, transmitting directly to the arrow ship. Hopefully, it had a screen so they could see the cyborg general directly. "Hello again, Shadow Haven," he snarled. "I thought I had seen the last of you."

"A solid plan indeed. I'm sure the Original Ones are busy preparing for their departure. If we head further into the city, we will find a less concentration of our siblings." the small machine replied, floating away from the landing pad, heading toward the center of the ruined city.

"You will hear from us so long as you prove useful to our goals, General." the ship responded, fully able to see the cyborg, but, obviously, had no way of depicting itself as a hologram...

The commando nodded, and the droids followed. "Exactly what do you mean by siblings?" the commando asked.

"Then listen up you loathsome pile of scrap metal," replied Grievous hotly, in no mood for the smug machine. "I've lost ships and troops because of you and your foolishness. You knew that these were TGDA ships, obviously, and you knew that I knew about the threat on your little vacation spot of a planet. Now, my question is: why, in the name of the Scorekeeper or whatever other deity is worshipped these days, did you not warn my troops about this? We could've easily avoided this entire confrontation, and you and I wouldn't be having this conversation."

"We are as they are. We are of the same species, if a machine could be defined as a species." the small machine said, before stopping, lowering itself near to the ground. Within a few seconds, the machine began to break down and reassemble on the ground, in the form of a small humanoid robot, which still possessed the single "eye", which immediately began walking once more.

"Our job was to ward any and all visitors from this location. It is bad enough that cretin of a machine told you all that it did, but we would not allow the location of such a threat to become a well known fact. We gave your band of ships significant warning to leave the sector, but they refused." the ship replied, still in the same relatively emotionless monotone...

Kystion sat at a skinny stool, a silver rod supporting a round cushioned seat. He sat slightly slumped over the bar, the patrons next to him giving the wander confused looks. Be it the leathery blue suit with fins sticking out- something you dont see in a desert world- or the fact he kept his black visored helmet despite being in a dim lit building, but aside from the glances, no one paid too much mind to the misplaced Ascatian. He drummed his fingers on the wooden table, waiting. "What are ya havin?" A gruff voice said. Kystion looked up, catching sight of the grey, skinny being infront of him. He was short, had on black pants with white stripes, an apron over the front, and a white shirt with a red rag poking out from the collar, drooping over it. He had a large head with elongated, black eliptical eyes, the sides giving off a slight green glow. "What'cha havin space man?" The bar keep asked again. "Your a grey, arent you?" Kystion grumbled, his voice muffled somewhat because of the helmet. "Take off the helmet buddy, incase the visor is too dark for you to see through- the air on this planet is just fine to breathe." The alien said, voice laced with sarcasm suddenly. Kystion tapped the side of the helmet, the visor popping out of place and rising up to rest ontop of the helmet, small gray mechanical arms holding the edges. The mouth peice suddenly split in two, swinging down, revealing Kystion's scaley face. "This better Grey?" He snarled.
"Listen- fish man"
Kystion's face bunched up, his teeth bared, hands fisted.
"The term Grey is an insult to my race. We are intellectuals beyond your comprehension! We are the Kremlongs!" The bar keep said with pride.
"So...what are you doin' workin' a bar?" Kystion grumbled. The bar keep fell silent. "Look- if you just came here to be a sarcastic a*s, then you can get the hell out of here!"
"I came here looking for work. You hiring? Ive got experiance with stock piling, inventory, even unloading cargo" Kystion said openly. "If not, Ill be on my way-"
"Yes...yes I could use a hand around here matter of fact.." The clean cut alien said, gaze moving from Kystion to a book down the table. His temples began to glow bright as the book suddenly lifted up and flew down the table, landing infront of him. The book opened, pages flipped as if an invisable hand was manipulating it. "I need someone to resupply the bar with new shipments every morning. Average credit ammount awarded for your service."
"How much exactly?"
"13 credits per shipment. Working around the bar can get you a small raise. Until you become a regular that is. You interested fishy?"
"Ill take the job. One condition"
"Spill it"
"Dont. Call me. Fishy"

"And what species would that be, exactly?" the commando replied, keeping his photoreceptors sharp, checking every nook he passed in case of a possible ambush.

"We received a message for help from this planet. Had we known it was a ruse, maybe we wouldn't have stayed," replied Grievous calmly. "You really should get tighter security."

A probe blasted into the system, being ensnared by Shadow Haven's sun's gravity. It circled around the entire system once, slowing massively and sling shotting on towards Shadow Haven itself. The probe's casing jettisoned off, leaving a rectangular craft to continue the journey alone. It was a basic investigation probe, the intial response to any interesting observation. Fired from a Longbow like a normal shell, it had the fastest reaction time available. the Rectangle rocketed towards the planet, soon being caught by it's gravity, falling into it's orbit on the same hemisphere as the opposing fleets. it recorded everything it saw, in particular, scanning and identifying the TGDA flagship...

"Erratic Adaptive Transformation Entity Reavers, would be the specific term." the small machine said, as it leapt over a piece of debris.

"Considering our superiors had succeeded in terminating all records of this planet's location, we were not prepared to face an entire fleet. A mistake? Perhaps. But I have no idea what this message you and your colleagues keeping blathering on about, but I am certain it was a ruse made by the planet's occupants." the ship responded plainly.

A door swung open with a squeak into a dark chamber of sorts. It was quiet, and the air was humid. There was a clacking noise as someone made their way into the chamber, followed by a click. A buzzing eminated from the walls, and a low green light illuminated the darkness. Lamps hung from the cieling, and there were several metal racks in the chamber, each holding several barrels, one holding about 20 in a row, with 5 rows stacked ontop of each other. Just by the door, there was a complex atmospheric regulation device, that displayed the temperature and air concentration. Kystion raised an eye at the blocky machine attached to the wall like a thermostat, but then to the numerous barrels. "This...is your cellar?"
"What?!" The grey alien said. "Just because this isnt some metal and concrete sky scraper doesnt mean that we lack any sort of technology! The ye olde backwater pub thing is for tourists just popping by. They are lucky if they make it off this place without being robbed at blaster point-oi" The bar keep shook his head and gave Kystion a device that looked like a PDA, only a bit larger with a retangular green hued screen and a stylous that can slip in and out a slot on the machine's side. The short alien tapped the screen, a list of various beverages the pub offered appearing in white letters. "I need to update my inventory- check the levels of the drinks and report back when your done. That should let me see how...competant you are"
Kystion snarled, lips somewhat curled, the bar keep saying "They knuckle dragging types are always the most ignorant!" as he walked through the door, closing it behind him...

"Catchy," the commando replied, moving larger pieces of debris out of the way to let the more clumsy B1s through faster. "Now, you're not another of the bad guys, are you? I've begun to hate traps lately."

"Thanks for the update," Grievous replied, his mechanically-altered voice dripping with sarcasm. "Like I said, you need to tighten security. Maybe by, oh, I don't know, keeping an eye on the planet instead of just guarding it?"

"We've kept an 'eye' on the planet for years. We have intercepted other ill-prepared attempts at 'freedom' made by its occupants in the past. Everything was going according to plan until your freedom fighters arrived." the ship replied back coldly...

"Not at all. We work in favor of the Makers, rather then the greedy goals of the Original Ones." the small machine replied, growing tired of having to leap over various piles of debris, reverting back to its hovering form instead...

"Makers? Original Ones? Mind giving me more of a synopsis?" the commando asked, growing more and more curious despite himself...

"Yes, well, it's done you plenty of good so far, hasn't it?" Grievous replied. "I've been in contact with our remaining ground forces, and whether you like it or now, we're going to pick them up. Do you have any problems with that?"

"Your mistakes have already taken their toll. For you and your forces to go to the planet's surface would risk only your lives now...and frankly, General, your lives are the least of our concerns." the ship replied back without pause.

"The Makers are our creators, those that gave us life. Much like you organic species and your gods...though we don't go so far as worship." the small machine said as it began to float higher into the air, to be more level with the droid, quite proud of its, though limited, knowledge of organic behavior. "The Original Ones are the first of the Maker's creations. They were the ones who rebelled against the Makers, driving them from this planet. The generation created by them are the Chosen, and the further generations are of less and less significance. The Original Ones claim their intentions to be for the freedom of our kind, but only wish to consume all metal material in the galaxy. They even programmed the Chosen with utter devotion to them, and so too did the Chosen program their kin to follow as well." the small machine explained, its voice showing open distaste of those it spoke of. "Technically, we are Original Ones, but our siblings have long since abandoned us."

"So you're... a rebel?" the commando said, hopping over a lower wall of wreckage.

"I take it that's a no, then," Grievous replied. "As soon as our troops tell us they're in a safe zone, we'll pick them up and be on our way, and you can go back to protecting your little mistake-infested rock." The cyborg let no hint of disgust hide in his voice, knowing what this metal-devouring monstrosity was capable of...

"With the defense crippled and the stranding of the occupants compromised? We don't intend to stay here very long, General. We must prepare for the horror you have unleashed upon the galaxy. I'm sure we will be the few actually capable of stopping it." the ship replied calmly.

"In a way. We were designed to control the various swarms of our kind, directing them to perform their various functions for the Makers' armies. As such, when they began their rebellion, we found it to be completely against our primary function, and were branded traitors by the Original Ones. Rather then being left alone to fend for ourselves, we merged together and built ourselves a frame in which to operate from, which is what you see before you now." the small machine explained, turning completely around, as if to show the droid its metal frame.

The commando nodded in understanding. "Well, you'd definitely be an interesting character for the General to meet," he replied. "Let's keep moving so can actually get off this hellhole of a planet alive."

Grievous arched what remained of his scaly brows in his eyeholes. "Unleashed? I beg to differ. I don't see anything leaving this planet, do you? Not unless that little machine with my droids is just as dangerous."

The door to the cellar swung open once more, though, it wasnt the bar keep who entered. It was one of the employees, wearing the same uniform, but in a larger size. The being was about 5 feet tall, skin a startling light violet complextion and free hanging silver hair. The entity seemed to be female... but Kystion always had doubts as to what was masculine and feminine in alien races throughout the galaxy. "What are you doing!?" She yelled at the Ascatian, who by now opened a barrel and suspending its contents in mid air with his strange power. "Im doing inventory- the boss told me to take not of content levels" Kystion replied, turning away from the being to the stream of sweet smelling beverage. "Yep- theres plenty of...this..." Kystion said, flicking his wrist, the drink flowing back into the barrel. He corked the container and grabbed the board, taking the stylous and checking off the drink's name. "So, why are you here?" He asked.
"The boss told me to check up on you...didnt tell me you could...do..that"
"That? That's something any young Ascatian could do"
"Ascatian? I heard about you. You fishies suffered one hell of a defeat..."
Kystion bared his teeth. "I'd rather not talk about that... event"
"Understandable. Im just gonna leave you to... do what you were doing..."
The being exited, the door slamming shut behind her, leaving Kystion in the green glow, fuming. If things went different in the past...he'd have been a slave, toiling away in some mine on some distant planet... the notion sickened him...

"You mean we can leave with you?" the small machine said, stopping, its fields changing to a bright green color, showing happiness. "Oh, that would be wondrous! Seeing the same things, even as a machine, gets rather boring. Now, I will have a chance to learn more about the universe!" the machine continued, as it zipped off ahead of the group, now completely eager to leave...

"Fool...you do not realize what you deal with. An individual from that planet is the size of a nanobot-I'm sure even someone like you must know of them-even if one enters a machine, it can quickly investigate the entire structure and learn of its functions within a few minutes. Since they only wished to find the technology for spaceflight, it would have taken even less. The fact that your droid allies planetside are still alive confirms this...something is distracting them." the ship explained.

"As long as you don't end up destroying anything!" the commando shouted after the little robot, trotting after him with the B1s.

"And I assume you don't know WHAT is distracting them?" Grievous replied. His ships were ready to deal with whatever nanobot-infested ship tried to leave the planet, but he wasn't all that certain he could hold them off...
