Enigma immediately flapped his wings, the resulting momentum in the opposite direction allowing him to slow enough to avoid the projectile. With a snarl, the fire wyvern flew higher into the sky, no longer simply hovering, but was now circling high above the area, gliding through the air effortlessly...

Thundertooth snarled angrily now that Enigma was at a far enough distance to avoid projectiles. However, he was aware that Rathalos would circle, then turn and swoop down upon their prey or foes. The laigcragus also knew that the wyvern would find it harder to hit him with fireballs now that it was circling, something he could use to his advantage. As a precaution, he sent electricity coursing across his body, never taking his eyes off of the his foe, keeping himself prepared to move in case fireballs were sent at him...

As the fire wyvern made another pass, he suddenly altered direction, swooping down from the sky while simultaneously launching fireballs in rapid succession, stopping his dive some feet above the ground, soaring overhead at an extremely fast speed, a series of explosions following in his wake, made by the firey projectiles, tracing their way toward the sea beast.

Thundertooth used a burst of speed to slide forward on his belly and manage to escape the fireballs, though two of them did come close to him. He hissed in annoyance, trying to think of a way to lure Enigma back into close range combat. Glancing to his right, he saw the ocean nearby and suddenly darted toward it, moving into the water until only his head was still at the surface. The Laigcragus was still close enough to the Apatonoth corpse so that he could quickly get to it if the Los decided to try and fly off with it, but if the wyvern wanted to stay where it held the advantage, then he would do the same until it chose to break the stalemate...

Enigma stopped in mid-air, once again hovering some distance above the ground, making sure to distance himself from the water. Rearing his head back, the fire wyvern sent more firey projectiles at the sea beast, knowing they wouldn't be quite as effective in the water, but aimed at chasing the creature off...or at least forcing it back onto land.

Seeing Enigma rear his head back, Thundertooth opened his jaws and fired a trio of electric balls, deciding to do this in order to try and suprise that Rathalos that another creature was starting to mimick it's attack patterns. Lowering his head, he ducked it underwater, closing off his nostrils to hold his breath, not intent on exposing his head again until there was a temporary cease in the fireballs...

Enigma dodged the projectiles with a large flap of his wings, bellowing loudly in frustration. The fire wyvern quickly descended, still keeping some distance from the water, wings folding on either side as the scarred Rathalos scanned the water...

Thundertooth could not feel the heat of any fireballs nearing and knew that they had stopped being fired. From his position, he had seen Enigma descend and realized that now he possibly had a chance of catching the Rathalos by suprise, seeing that it hadn't come near the water and was possibly expecting him to charge out. Pushing his snout into the sand slowly, he prepared to fire an electric orb and with a quick movement, raised his head out of the water and fired the projectile at the land creature...

With one large flap of his wings, Enigma was lifted just off the ground, the projectile soaring under him, drifting back before thumping back down, backpedaling slightly before regaining his balance. The Rathalos unleashed another ear splitting bellow, trying to coax the sea beast out of the water...

Thundertooth snarled at Enigma, not yet intending on emerging from where he held an advantage. Rather, he opened his mouth and fired two more electric orbs, one aimed upward in case the Rathalos decided to take to the air or fly backward and another one aimed at it's head. Once he fired the second projectile, the amphibious reptile made mock movement as though he were planning to charge out of the water completley, intent on causing it to make the error of chosing to be hit by an orb rather than a charge...

Once again flying back, the fire wyvern unleashed his own firey projectile, which completely smashed through the less-solid orb of electricity, though the attack was thrown off course, slamming into the sandy beach ahead of the sea creature. Now hovering over the ground, the Rathalos stared hard at his enemy, waiting for its next move...

Thundertooth carefully watched Enigma, looking for the slightest sign of an indication that an attack was being prepared. The fight had gone on longer than he had expected and perhaps more so than even his enemy expected. Deciding to try a sneakier tactic, the electrical creature made it seem as though he would fire another orb, but rather than firing, he suddenly charged forward, planting his feet into the ground and bringing himself to a stop once he got to the very edge of where the beach met the ocean, then releasing the orb, which hit the Los in the chest...

Enigma, reacting instantly when he saw the charge, launched another firey projectile. The attack, however, gave him no time to dodge the attack, the electrical energy causing the wyvern to emit a pained growl, but at the same time, his own projectile smashed into the sea beast's head, reaching its target almost before it had launched its own attack. The resulting explosion jerked the Lagi's head to the side, Enigma soaring forward suddenly, using the distraction to his advantage, soaring overhead as he rained down more fireballs...

Thundertooth snarled angrily as the fireball struck his head, his wet scales reducing the damage, although he still felt the heat. Shaking his head to clear his vision, he fired electric orbs into each of the fireballs that was sent his way, causing them to go off course. Once the last one had been stopped, he considered his options:Neither of them had currently gained an advantage over the other and both had not inflicted a serious wound. The Laiga's patience was starting to wear thin and even if he decided to try and drag the dead Aptonoth into the water with him, Enigma could simply hit him with fireballs and this would have the risk of permanently blinding him. Deciding to go off in search of easier prey, Thundertooth hissed angrily at the Rathalos, then turned and darted back into the ocean, soon submerging as he swam off in search of a new meal...

With a triumphant roar, Enigma moved back over the carcass, lowering himself to the ground, before digging hungrily into it, trying to consume it quickly, least any other predators arrive to challenge its ownership...

...A very boring fight, IK <.>

Mostly my fault. Poor choice in a monster to face yours, considering both wanted to lead the other into their element, which wasn't really possible. With Enigma in the air, and Thundertooth in the sea, it just came down to them flinging projectiles at each other >.<

Not exactly a prime example of a good solid fight, but the actual fighting that took place was somewhat good on both sides.

It was a good fight, but I agree with you about how both were trying to get the other into the element where they would hold the advantage.

REVIEW TIME!

Razortail VS Destroyah

Quite a good fight, really. IK, you seem to have gotten the hang of counter attacks. Its dangerous ground, as you have to react, but can't ignore the attack that was just dished out to you, either. You kept this balance quite well.

As for the both of you, the fact that you kept most of your attacks as "fired at" rather then "exploded against" is a serious step in the right direction. The fight became a matter of skill, rather then just cheapshotting each other.

MegaMouth VS Razortail

First, I'd like to say: MM destroying a city? HAHA! That's a funny joke :P

Second, the actual review: Its a bit...disappointing. CS, your attacks were pretty clever, but you used a lot of underhanded tactics to achieve them. You blinded, dazed, or knocked over Razortail in almost every post. That's not how a fight goes. In most cases, dazing/blinding/whatever is used extremely infrequently, and mainly used like limb/weapon removal: When you get a really good opening. With MM, he fabricated those openings, and it didn't seem the least realistic.

As for the destruction of the railgun, you know what I think CS. The whole feeling something wrong with the attack was rather clever, and you should've stopped with that. The total destruction was another fabricated opportunity, instead of a real opening in IK's strategy.

As for you, IK, I think CS hit the nail on the head. Razortail should've stayed in the air, as MM is WAAAAY too strong for him to fight safely in close range. To be honest, I think the fight was decided by a tactical mistake by you, IK :P

Rockscale vs Thundertooth

Location:Ocean of the MH Tri jungle island

Thundertooth's anger filled eyes were locked onto the subadult plesioth. He had been patroling the bay he called his territory when he saw the wyvern inside of it at the western end. The Laigcragus had made several warning signs to try and frighten it away, but the shark like creature had responded by ignoring them. Electricity crackled around Thundertooth's jaws as he made it seem he was going to fire an orb, but he did not, waiting to see if the Plesioth was experienced enough to recognize that this had been a mock attack...

Rockscale dove into the dark deep as the electricity formed in the Lagi's mouth, his speed and agillity incredible because of his relative young age. Hidden by the shadows, the Plesioth could assess the battle at his own pace...
