I thought it was some weird thing with people from Nightworld being able to cross over to Earth and such. Still think it would fit in SSRPG, since its the exact same premise if a plot isnt made

Again, no. The idea is that anybody around a person could be a member of the Night World. A best friend, secret crush, that one quiet kid in the back of the classroom...a teacher. Someone in the government. Anyone.

which could fit into SSRPG

the only difference is that everyone knows vampires, werewolves and so on exist. Still wanna see a plot that could define it as its own stand alone RPG and keep people interested

CS: Done.

GF: Well...not necessarily. When vampires die, they kind of turn mummified, and then usually they're burned. I assume the other races would burn their dead as well.

well, considering they manage to live amongst people without their knowledge, their deaths would look like an increase in urban violence. attributed to muggings, gang violence, acts of terrorism, psychopathic homicide...etc etc etc...

i still think this whole thing could fit into SSRPG, with a few minor adjustments. it'd be like SSRPG in it's early stages. before things became obvious...HF, i've already pointed out other things that'd need minor adjustments to fit. the yooung age this is a no go, i'm afraid. limits things too much...

Without entering the debate too much...
Why would the young age group limit things 'too much'?

well, say someone wants to make a Vampire character that has the appearance of a 40 year old man [classic, esteemed looking character. maybe a few stray grey hairs, maybe entirely silver hair for that seasoned, experienced, wise look], but didn't want to be tied up in the politics of Vampire 'families'. the only options are to either have him be a rogue against the families, born by them but not agreeing with their lifestyle and going off on his own [which in itself limits the player and forces him to follow that story rather than invent his own history], OR, have the young adult dye his hair and do various other things to make him look older :P

and that's just one example.

Lamia can have children, and can choose to stop aging – or start again – whenever they like.

There are vampires who decide to keep aging. Say, they've been around for 70 years but looked thirty. If they wanted, they could stop holding off the aging process - in which case it would all catch up at once. They'd look their actual age.

i point at your quote again. according to that, like i said, it'd have to have been born a vampire rather than a turned one....

Tremors RPG

This will not be tied to the movies in any way, allowing complete and utter creative opportunities for all involved

Story: The town of Perfection seems to be smack dab in the middle of the Nevada desert, also known as the middle of no-where for its inhabitants. The town was founded on the mining industry, but has expanded, becoming residential and business based. Like all towns, there are stores, houses and so on. However, not much other towns are terrorized by giant vibration sensing, heat seeking worms are they!? (Insert hysterical/insane laughter here)

Gettin' back to Perfection! HAHAHAHA I made a punny >: D

Plot: At first, no one will know of the "Grabboids" that skitter about underneath the sifting sands (For logical reasons. I mean, why would anyone wanna live in a town where these man eaters run wild if they know about them) BUT this does not mean they spontaneously appear. Withdrawing information as I want most of the plot to be a suprise and reactions genuine

Profiles

Name:
Age:
Gender:
Personality:
Description:
Past: (If any)
Talents: (If your char has built up a particular speciallty because of something that happened in its past. You could start off with no set talent, to development as the RPG progresses)

Thats my pitch for a new Survival oriented RPG. Mulling over if the players could get Grabboid characters or should that be off limits. What do you guys think

LET THERE BE GRABOIDS! and behold, it was so...

I tink that people should be Graboids. Now, some people might object to this, thinking, "Well what exactly are we spposed to do instead of killing humans?" Well, they could patrol around the outskirts of the town, eating up wildlife and scarring a few people driving by, so that there's a myth about them.

And id we were able to be Graboids, then would ***blasters be available to use? then we'd be able to fly around and spread the legend of Pterodactyls in the area, drawing in trophy hunters and the like.

Too similar to ZORPG in my opinion. Just replace zombies (Which can fly, walk, run, burrow, depending on what someone can come up with) with grabboids (Limited to the worms and other forms, which only number like...3-4 in total). ZORPG already suffers from inactivity from those who aren't involved with others (As whats the use in saying your survivor sat in a fortified house if no one is there to attack it/survive with them?)

Survival RPGs are only good if A LOT of people contribute to them. Lets face it, many people are too lazy to come up with sh*t by themselves. They'd rather intrude on someone else's plot (Which isn't always a bad thing), or completely forget about the RPG if no one actually makes the effort to be involved with their characters.

Its also a very difficult thing to balance how dangerous a situation it really is. If you make it too dangerous, no one will want to venture outside of their safehouses because they believe the grabboids would be too tough. One would think this would be good, but taken too far and people are left with sh*t-all to do, and thus stop posting. But don't stress the danger enough, and people evade grabboids like someone would evade a boulder rolled at them, and even go so far as to KILL them. As I said, its a very difficult balance.

yes the different types of Grabboids and such would be in the RPG should it be made, but then theres the matter of people taking it too far and having worms bust out of the ground every post chasing people around going om nom nom nom

so Im leaning to no grabboid chars for now

@TT: It may be tough, but Ive been giving this RPG some thought. I'd like to see how things go and run it so that it DOES keep interesting, while at the same time not making things ridiculous
