Lissarkh, lacking a grappling hook herself, simply used a Force Jump to leap all the way up, landing lightly on top of the bridge. She immediately took cover behind one of the many strange, triangular structures on the bridge as a patrolling Brute lumbered past, sniffing the air. She cautiously leaned over the edge and waved at the rising troops, silently telling them to hurry up...

It wasn't long until all the troops were up, Serephir having put away the Rifle and drawn his sword, deciding it was best to secure the bridge before taking out the troops behind them. afterall....his little surprise would likely kill any attempts of pursuit...

Huka and the other Covenant quickly recovered, and Huka barked, "Get up there, you lowly insects! Kill them!" The Drones chirped and chittered chaotically, and eventually took off down the tunnel, unaware of the bombs planted at the entrance as they buzzed outside...

as soon as the enemies were in range, the explosives went off, the Singularity Mines pulling the drones, as well as the rocky surroundings inwards, crushing them before a massive blue explosion blew off in both directions of the tunnel, washing out in a cloud of dust on the bridge end and in a blinding flash of blue energy on Huka's end, being closer. Serephir glanced down at the cloud of debris washing out of their escape route, chuckling. "Poor ********" he commented before walking away from the edge, sword at the ready, perpared to take out the troops on the bridge...

It was obvious that every single alien on the bridge heard the explosion, because a whole platoon of Brutes, Jackals, and Grunts ran across the bridge in the direction of Serephir and his troops. Knowing they would quickly be discovered, Lissarkh simply dove from cover, Lightsaber active. However, before the Covenant could even fire, the lead Brute toppled as a sniper round tore through its shield, armor, and skull in one shot, toppling the beast. The Covenant stopped, confused for a moment, and Lissarkh spotted a lone figure on one of the distant sniper perches, only to lose it as it seemed to disappear into thin air...

the Vardian troops took cover, opening fire on the Covenent while they were distracted, the shot having hit the Brute too early for it to have been aimed at them. so whoever was shooting was against the Covenent....or a horrendous shot. Serephir brought a hand forward, his blade pointing at the enemies as one of the Brutes was suddenly pulled towards him, the massive Covenent soldier getting impaled on Serephir's blade, ripping right through the shields, as Serephir swung a second blade at it's neck, beheading the creature and tossing it back at the troops, knocking several back and forcing a couple off the edge of the bridge, as all around him, his men opened fire on the opponents...

Lissarkh sprang forward, cutting down a pair of shocked Jackals and the final Brute in the troop. The Covenant line faltered, and the Grunts began to scatter, the Jackals desperately trying to keep them in line...

Huka emerged from the dust cloud in the tunnel, Plasma Repeater in one hand, a small, pistol-shaped device in the other. He was breathing hard and had several cuts on his body, but nevertheless raised the pistol and fired a stream of blue-green liquid. It hit the bottom of the bridge and instantly hardened into a strong rope. The Sangheili Major swiftly and quietly ascended, unseen and unheard thanks to the chaos above...

The coms were rife with chatter once more, order having broken down quickly after Kodiak went offline. The Captain of Stray Wolf stressfully sent commands to the others. There just had to be a way out of this. It couldn't end like this, torn apart by a pair of soulless backwater guard drones. Suddenly another alarm went off, followed by a warning screen opening up and showing him a starboard view of the ship, the drones visible in the background. Just as he was about to ask the ship what it was, something streaked past, leaving an orange spiral behind it, the camera twisting around, showing a tiny orange orb speeding off into the distance... Artillery fire.

This really was it. After all this, they were going to be decimated by plasma shells. The computer was watching for it this time, and bleeped as it detected another round being fired, the tac map zooming out and estimating the range at less than a parasec. In less than a second, the shell entered the sector, but it wasn't on a collision course with the exodus, in fact, it was the drones taking the evasive action. The drone took a sharp turn, dodging a second shell, before a third and final shell hammered into's central body, penetrating and engulfing the machine in an explosion..

Meanwhile,

The raka-anra scout sped along, drawing close to the ground, back towards the mountains where the workers lay, hidden...

The Hopper that had raced to intercept the Scout, brushed inches away, viciously snapping its pointed mandibles as the Raka-Anra passed. With the other two behind it, the Hopper continued its pursuit, willing to follow the intruder into the mountains and out of Arachnid territory...

Lissarkh laughed as the Covenant retreated, cutting down the Jackals foolish enough to stand and fight. "That's right, run, you sons of--" Sensing something wasn't right, she spun around, spotting Huka after he had climbed onto the bridge...

With a mighty war cry, Huka charged at Serephir from behind, firing a concentrated stream of deadly blue superheated plasma at him from the Plasma Repeater...

Serephir turned around, glancing at the Elite, leaping from where he stood, over the stream of plasma, landing closer to Huka, drawing a sword. from what he knew of the Sangheili Elites, they were honour bound....he'd exploit that...

Meanwhile, the crosshairs were already locked on Huka...if not for the General targetting the attacker personally, Huka would've been shredded by gatling gun fire...

Huka stopped firing as he closed, instead swinging the Plasma Repeater like a club ar Serephir's head.. His immense strength could crush Serephir's skull in a single blow, even without the Energy Sword of the higher-ranking Elites...

Serephir's sword swung flat against the repeater, haulting it in place as Serephir's boot hit Huka in the chest, knocking him back and off his feet, the General taking on a defensive stance...

Huka rolled backwards as he fell, getting back to his feet quickly. Staring at his Repeater for a moment, he simply threw it aside and stood straight, glaring daggers at Serephir as he warbled something in his own, aline tongue. Lissarkh, unable to understand, quickly pulled a small translator out of one of her belt pouches and put it in her earhole. She tossed a second one to Serephir as well, so he could hear what the Elite was saying...

Huka glared at the human vermin standing before him, fists clenched tightly. "It is your move, human," he snarled, never taking his eyes away from Serephir's...

Serephir's eyes narrowed, sheathing his sword, the Identification system on all the weapons he was armed with programmed to lock until drawn by the General, to keep them from being drawn unintentionally. Serephir eyed the Elite, clenching his fists, a couple of faint cracks audible before the General approached, while the rest of his men kept their eyes out for more attackers, two sharpshooters keeping an eye at the hole below, just in case someone attempted to used a ranged explosive weapon to hit them from below...

Huka cocked his head slightly to the side as Serephir approached, at least a head taller than the human. He clench and unclenched his four-fingered fists repeatedly as the human got closer, his eyes never leaving Serephir's...

Meanwhile, on several of the distant sniper perches, a few clutches of Sangheili in teal armor, their heads encased in sealed helmets with transparent upper halves, waited patiently. Most of them were carrying pairs of Plasma Rifles, but a few were armed with odd, long-barreled rifles that bore a passing resemblance to Beam Rifles...

once Serephir had neared, he assumed a defensive stance, comparable to some martial arts, the General eying the Elite warily...

Huka's vertical pupils flicked back and forth as he assessed Serephir's stance, then took a step forward, which brought him within striking distance. The Elite moved startingly fast, taking another step to swing his hoofed foot into Serephir's foot, overbalancing him, before giving him a vicious uppercut that would have snapped the neck of any normal human being...

the uppercut was caught as it came, Serephir using the momentum to flip himself over and behind the Elite, twisting it's arm over the Elite, a sharp blow to the middle of the lower arm, a kick hitting the Sangheili in the back, sending it flying forward and onto the floor, Serephir reassuming the stance, a half crouch, one leg ahead of the other, Serephir's arms held forward, one ahead of the other, waiting...

Huka rolled over and leaped to his feet, chuckling at Serephir. "You are good... for a human." He took a small leap forward, towards Serephir, then crouched and sidestepped, took another leap forward, grabbing Serephir's right arm as he passed. Tearing him from the ground, he swung the human over his shoulder and slammed him facefirst into the ground in front of him. The whole maneuver took only 2 or 3 seconds. The Elite straightened and stared contemptuously down at his foe, growling, "Get up, human! I'd hate to see you lose so quickly!"

Serephir's hand came forward as he almost struck the ground, his legs bending and wrapping around Huka's neck, arching so he was forced face first into the ground, the General launching himself back up into the air, flipping and landing onto his feet, before glancing at the Elite, which was suddenly pulled towards him, hit in the gut with a shatteringly powerful punch as he neared, launching him back in the opposite direction and skidding along the ground for several feet, Serephir reassuming his stance. "Your confidence will kill you, Sangheili" warned the General as he eyed the Elite...
