"Indeed" responded Serephir as he sheathed his blades, the weapons already dry, their extreme workmanship meaning that even liquid would not stick to them. the General drew his assault rifle, moving forward, the Commander of the assault troops giving the order to move out...

"Blue Suns, attack!" the Legionnarie barked, now able to see the cargo bay through the smoke more clearly. The mercs opened fire, peppering the pirates' position with rifle fire. The Turians soldiers began to move into close combat, one of them falling under enemy fire as they approached. The Blue Suns Heavy, who was hanging back behind a crate near the door, popped up and fired a pair of missiles, which sailed over the heads of the Blue Suns mercs and slammed into the pirates' position...

Lissarkh followed Serephir through the door and into another corridor. The Geth was at the other end, near a console sticking out of the wall near another door. As they approached, blue, translucent walls of energy appeared in front of the group, with the Geth outside. Lissarkh stopped and cautiously poked the energy wall, receiving a mild shock in the process. She jumped back with a yelp and shook her hand. "Ow! D*mmit!" Suddenly, the Geth turned to the console and hovered its hands over the holographic panel. Thin stream of red energy projected to the panel, even as the door behind Serephir's group opened, and a number of Covenant troops, varying from Grunts and Jackals to Brutes and even some Elites, streamed out, raising their weapons at the group...

Suddenly, the energy wall dropped, and the Geth turned to run through the door, only to be met with an even taller Geth soldier wielding a shotgun. A single blast from the weapon overloaded the Geth sniper's shields and floored it, leaving a large hole in its chest, though the dim glow of its eye was a definite sign that it was still active. Several more of the tall Geth emerged from the door, moving towards the group. One picked up the disabled Geth, throwing it over its shoulder. The Geth were followed by an even larger Geth Prime, as well as several Elite Honor Guards brandishing Energy Swords. One of the Honor Guards, dressed in white instead of red, barked, "Put down your weapons, all of you! Ripa wishes to... speak with you." Lissarkh whispered to Serephir, "Maybe we should do what they say, for once. We'll be able to get to Ripa and end this..." She was shocked that they were working with Geth, and even more shocked that the Geth had attacked one of their fellows, but made no comment...

The explosion hit a the ground near the four with SMGs, killing two of them and knocking one of them out; the last one was meagerly damaged, and retreated back to his cover in the alcove.
The pirates ducked behind their cover, responding with their own hail of bullets. The Koult Squad Commander leaped to his right, diving behind a crate next to the wall. He looked to a soldier on his left, nodding and giving a slight hand-signal.
Nodding in response, the pirate hurled two grenades toward the other side of the building, the first a flashbang, to temporarily blind and deafen them, the next, a fragmentation, to kill.
The pirates nearest plugged their ears and closed their eyes as the flash went off, and stayed behind cover as they heard the tell-tale cling of the frag hitting the ground, along with the familiar beeping getting faster and faster.
The Koult SC took the time while they were blinded too squeeze off a few shots, killing the foes on the front line nearest to him.
Meanwhile, the shuttle had moved back into the ship's small hangar bay...

"Grenade! Get dow--" Several Blue Suns were thrown sky-high by the grenade explosion, but the grenade had missed the Turians who were by now at point-blank range, shotgunning any pirate that appeared out of cover. The Legionnaire and Heavy were a safe distance from the blast, but temporarily blinded by the flashbang. The two mercs took cover while the effects wore off, leaving the remaining Blue Suns to finish the boarding party off...

The shuttle was back to it's position by the freighter, in contact with the back of the freighter, loading a second, much smaller heavy defense and artillery squad.
The SC made his way around the stack of crates he had been behind, diving behind a crate fairly in the open, slightly too small for him. Crouching behind, he popped his head up, gunning down three more of the Blue Suns.
Meanwhile, the right flank line had moved forward, and split, half going to each side of the room, creating a gap in the center of the room.
The emergency doorway was blasted completely open, and 4 figured filed out. They had massive metal, bullet-proof shields, with small plexiglass visors for the occupants to see. All four of them were armed with RPG and mortar launchers, and were equipped hugely for defense.
Slow moving, almost lumbering, they made their way forward, forming up side by side to form an enormous shield wall...

The Legionnaire spotted the incoming shield wall, shouting, "Take those b******s down!" The Heavy popped out of cover, firing three more rockets at the shield wall. While the shields might block the explosion, it would certainly knock them off their feet...

All four of the heavy defense units were blown back by the rocket's explosion. One managed to keep his footing. The other three were blwon off their feet, and hurried to recover. Seizing the distraction, the soldiers on each side of the room came out of cover, unleashing a hailstorm of rapid-fire bullets on the enemy on the Koult's command, giving the defense units more time to get back in position, and giving the Koult SC time to get back to his original cover by the wall. Making use of the opportunity, the artillery soldier who had stayed on his feet pulled the top trigger on his double weapon. A mortar was launched out, and lobbed through the air, on target toward it's destination of the Legionnaire, who appeared to be leading the opposing forces...

The Legionnaire cursed and dove to the side, the mortar sailing past and exploding against the closed door. The explosion overloaded the Batarian's shields, but he was content to hide behind a nearby crate to let them recharge while the Heavy continued to bombard the pirates. One of the remaining Turians got in close, sidestepped around one of the heavy defense soldiers, and blew him away with a shotgun blast. The remaining human troopers stayed back and peppered the unprotected heavy defense troops while they recovered...

in the time it took for the Covenent and Geth soldiers to show themselves, Serephir's forces had circled around him and Lissarkh protectively, weapons aimed in all directions. "Commander....hold your fire" ordered Serephir, as he set down his weapons, covertly hitting a button on the underside of one of his gauntlets in the process, an energy beacon activated for a second, coinciding with the deactivation and disarmament of their weapons, the men putting them to the ground, all Serephir's forces putting their weapons down, Serephir himself putting down his assault rifle and side arm, as well as the two swords he killed Noga with. the third sword however, remained on his back...

Lissarkh put her saber hilt down as well, and some Grunts waddled forward, collecting the weapons and trundling quickly away, squeaking and gibbering at each other. Noticing the third sword, the Honor Guard Ultra snarled, "Your sword, human. Put it down."

As soon as the heavy unit was blown back by the Turian, the last remaining human from his group of four popped out of cover, a burst of bullets coming out of his SMG at close range, aimed at the Turian.
The SC took the time to lob another grenade in the Heavy's general direction, shouting to his squad, "Take that thing down!"
It had been a class A flashbang, capable of even temporarily immobilizing anything that was too close to it as it went off. As it did, even on the other side of the large cargo bay, the Koult could feel it's effects, with a slight ringing. He snarled another command to his heavy units, knowing that the effect would be ten-fold on the other side of the room.
Also under the slight effects of the flash, a heavy unit misunderstood his command, and fired off a shot at the group of humans clustered by the crates.
"No! NO! Not the humans! The rocket launcher! Take down the rocket launcher!" screamed the Koult...

The Legionnaire and Heavy were certainly stunned by the blast, but as they fell they ended up behind cover, fully protected by anything except point-blank attacks. The Turian jerked backwards under SMG fire, before finally toppling backwards, dead. The rest of the troopers were stunned by the grenade as well, but to varying degrees. Those farthest from the blast continued fighting, while those closer had to stop and shake off the effects...

The heavy units spread out, one going to the left, the other two going to the right, the last one still knocked out by the shotgun blast. The one on the left fired off an RPG shot, vaguely aimed toward the enemy rocket launcher, but that attack was a feint. While the enemy was focused on the RPG, the Koult SC rolled out of cover, going behind the same crate as earlier, and sprayed a massive hail of LMG-fire at the enemy heavy unit...

The RPG exploded violently against the crate, but the stunned Heavy was safely behind it. She recovered around the same time as the Batarian, who stood up as the Squad Commander burst from cover, pounding the Koult's chest with several three-round bursts from his battle rifle, while the Heavy stayed in cover, away from the LMG fire...

The Koult fell straight backwards, dying almost immediately from the numerous bullets wedged within him. His death meant an immediate rank up for everyone; the new Squad Commander, a human with a gas-mask on and an AK-47, had slugged the Batarian with a storm of bullet-fire as it had killed the Koult, hitting it in it's stomach area and arm.
Meanwhile, the heavy units, safely behind their shields, were now blindly firing mortars upward, in the direction of their enemies. The room was racked with explosions and smoke, and shook multiple times from the blasts...

The Legionnaire's shields had recharged, and he swiftly ducked behind cover before the human drained them. Crates were knocked flying by the explosions, and most of the Blue Suns troops were scattered by the heavy bombardment. Eventually, only the Legionnaire and Heavy were left, safely behind cover near the door...

"If this sword leaves it's place and is not in my hand...it will destroy your fortress, and all in it. I won't risk my men's lives with such a foolish move" warned Serephir, getting a few worried glances from his men, disbelief amongst the youngest of them. they had heard legends of the Dynasty Destroyer, but they had never seen it in action. "You take me as i am...or you don't take me at all. either way, the sword doesn't leave my possession" he said finally...

"Hold fire!" shouted the now human SC, sneaking a look, and seeing that there were only two left. The heavy units ceased their bombardment of the room, and the machine gun firing stopped.
He slowly peaked his head out, not letting it become a large target, to see their reaction. He may have been dubbed a pirate, but he would at least give them a chance to surrender, and keep their lives.
With a subtle hand signal, the remaining fighters slowly peaked out of cover, their guns still locked in a firing position, ready to shoot with the slightest indication that the enemy would retaliate...

The Honor Guard stared at Serephir for a moment, before finally snorting. "Very well. Ripa can handle one human armed with a blade. Come with me." He turned and walked through the corridor, the Geth following him, with the Covenant troops herding their captives from behind...

Hearing the attack stop, the Legionnaire peeked his four-eyed head out from cover, before snarling, "Get out of here, you d*mn pirates, before we blow you out the cargo bay doors!"

"I don't think you're in much of a position to be making threats," the SC responded from behind the two crates he was crouching by. "We have our orders. We've intercepted a message from you guys, labeled with 'precious cargo'," he said across the room with a slight smirk. "What is it?"
