"That's good," Selena barked. She turned and poked her head into Rose's chosen shelter, seeing the pale tiger striped raptor curled into a tight ball. Her sides rose and fell evenly as she breathed. Not wanting to wake her, Selena left her to sleep and padded back to her own spot.

Siri, having paused to snag a compy for a quick snack, was almost finished with patrolling and marking this border. The scent of the pack was usually enough to keep other raptors out. But sometimes the pack had to fight for what was theirs. She was hoping that this night wouldn't be a fighting night and that she'd manage to grab something worth bringing back to her family.

Aircrest's jaws hung open as he walked. His nose was stuffed up, and it made his head feel as if it was as dense as a rock, which was ironic. Hellfire would call him air head. He pointed his snout upwards and tried to pull in the scents. He only heard himself sniffle. "Perfect" Aircrest hissed softly. He couldnt pick up on the scents around him. He continued on contemplating finding a place to rest for the night, unknowingly heading right for a boarder

The black female, catching an unfamiliar raptor scent tainted with faint sickness, paused and looked around. Her soft violet eyes scanned the undergrowth. it didn't smell like the sick raptor had crossed the border, but he was definitely nearby. She stood staring across the border, waiting for him to appear.

Soon enough, Aircrest parted the bushes with a rustle and poked his snout out to look ahead. What he saw was another raptor staring at him, female by the look of it, though with his sense of smell impaired, he couldnt be completely certain. Another loner? Probably, though as to why it was staring at him was confusing. Either this raptor was another strange randomer, or it was standing guard...

"I suggest you turn around, stranger," Siri growled. "This territory belongs to me and my pack."

"Guard duty? Got the short tailed compy, I see" Aircrest growled, glancing to the raptor's snack. He would have started chuckling at the joke, but he let out a loud sneeze before he could even crack a smile. He sniffled as he raised his head to look at the black female, wondering how he ended up at a pack's border. He must've deviated from the lagoon when he moved into thicker cover

"Patrolling, actually," the black female responded coolly. "Making sure no one decides our territory would make a good place to spend the night." She gave a barely-visible wince at the male's sneeze. She was wary of disease-ridden strangers; the last thing the pack needed was an outbreak of illness.

Aircrest looked about the area, looking to the shrubs and the trees, even the vines and moss that grew over them. "Looks like crap. Who would want to stay here?" Aircrest growled simply. Only his reptillian grin showed that he was joking

Siri grunted. "Why are you standing around chattering with complete strangers when you should be doing the sensible thing and finding a place to sleep?" she growled, turning her head to look in the direction she'd been heading. She wanted to finish the patrol and hunt before her pack started to worry.

"Excellent question" Aircrest barked. "The answer is quite simple" he continued to say, scratching an itch on his neck. "I enjoy being a smartass to complete strangers. Even when Im sick and tired, nothing cheers me up more than sharing my sarcasm with those I meet. I think its a gift that keeps on giving!" He paused for a moment, as if waiting for himself to start laughing like he normally would in that situation. Despite being in good humor, he wasnt in the mood to joke around. He was ill and weary from the day's events. "Eh. F*ck it" He growled dryly, pulling himself back behind the bushes, which swayed back into place.

Siri blinked, then turned and started on her way, glancing back over her shoulder before completely leaving the area to be sure the sick male had gone. She tore a last bite from her small and, admittedly, not very satisfying snack and dropped the carcass, leaving what was left to the compy's fellows. The black female was hoping that during her patrol she'd stumble over something more filling than a few compies...her pack needed more than the precious few scraps salvaged from their last kill in a dash for safety, especially now that they had four new mouths to feed.

Aircrest found himself laying at the base of one of the mossy giants of the jungle, curled up amongst the undergrowth that sprouted from the ground. He was laying on a pile of fallen leaves, and was for the most part comfortable, save the chills that would run up and down his body and his blocked up nose. His mouth was kept open to compensate, taking slow raspy breaths. "If Hazel was here...she would say 'I told you so'. That just adds insult to injury..." He thought as he waited for sleep- or exhaustion- to take him to the next morning's light

Gothmog nears where he had left his triceratops kill, only to find that a couple of young Carcharodontosaurs were feeding on it.

"Get out of HERE...... NOW!"

The smaller carnosaurs see Gothmog and back off slowly, letting the Giga eat his kill........

Time passed and the dead of night fell upon the island. Aircrest had deifted off into a slumber, laying on his side now with his arms and legs stretched out. If it wasnt for the slow rising and falling that accompanied his breathing, one would think he was dead. He was dreaming, but it was like the last one. It started with him walking along the jungle floor. It wasnt sunny. It was dark and a fog hung close to the ground, rolling through the undergrowth. He wandered through the shadows, ignoring the wispy sheet at his feet, head up to the branches above. He didnt know what he was looking for. Was he searching for a perch? Was he trying to see through the breaks in the tree top? He continued on like that for a little while longer before he came across a raptor sprawled out on a wooden tendril, seemingly asleep. One of its legs hung off of it and dangled lazilly, its toe talons flexing occasionally. This raptor was a dark green, if it had been a little higher in the tree, it would be practicallly invisable. It was also a male, he had a black stripe running from the tip of his nose down his back, with other stripes branching off and running down the sides of his body. There were also numerous black speckled scales dotting his hide, barely visable in the shadows. "Oh hell..." Aircrest hissed. The other raptor's eyes opened, a dull amber in the dark cover of the trees. He raised his head off of the branch and looked down at Aircrest. He dawned a reptillian smirk and swung his hanging leg up and onto he branch, claws scraping against it. Aircrest cocked his head as the other raptor stood up and then stepped off of the branch, falling into a thicket of plants below with a loud rustle. He let out angered snarls and grunts as he fought his way out of the foliage, tumbling out of the leaves and staggering a few feet forward before regaining his balance. Aircrest gave the raptor a blank stare. "Uh...hi" The raptor growled before arcing his back as he stretched out. "...Nice moves, jackass" Aircrest replied. "....Who are you?" He asked with a bark. "It isnt obvious?" The other green raptor said, straightening out. "No" Aircrest hissed flatly. "Really?" The other raptor growled. "Seems pretty obvious to me"
"When has the obvious explanation been the most absurd?" Aircrest barked. The other raptor shrugged. "Dunno, but Im standing right before your eyes. Pretty obvious to me. Are you stupid?" He asked.
Aircrest widened an eye at the raptor."You expect me to accept that there is a raptor that looks exactly like me?!" He hissed. The other raptor shook his head. "No, I expect you to believe that this other raptor is you"
"....Was that sarcasm?" Aircrest asked. "Yes, Im only f*cking with you" The raptor hissed dryly. Aircrest fell silent at that, staring at the raptor that was supposedly himself. "You self absorbed b*stard! Think about something that isnt you for a moment, thank you very much!" The other raptor snarled.
"....Oh the f*cking irony" Aircrest growled rather plainly

"I need to finish the patrol. you three get something for us to eat" growled Crusher as he eyed Hunter, Lightning and Fury. Rampage eyed her mate with some conscern, before following him as he went to finish his reclaiming of the territory. Hunter glanced at where his parents and sister went, then at Lightning and Fury. "You up for a hunt, Fury?" he growled with a smirk...

Fatalis stood, stretching. he eyed the siblings with conscern. he could feel the discomfort in them...but he was at a loss at how to help ease it. deciding the best solution would be to talk to Rhojis, he began to walk towards the Raptor. maybe he could encourage him to speak to his sister...

By now, Aircrest and his double had wandered out of the jungle and were now treading across the open plains. Herds of giant herbivores lumbered across the green expanse under skies overcast with dark gray clouds. Corythosaurs and their long horned companions, Parasaurolophus grazed along by a lake. Near the edge of the jungle were Brachiosaurs, though a few were suspended off the ground, flipping end over end with panicked bellows. The other herbivores in the area seemed to ignore it, and so did the two raptors. Stegosaurs and Kentrosaurs moved as one large group, trumpetting every now and then. "So where'd you come from?" Aircrest growled, breaking the silence that had gripped the two since their last conversation. Aircrest had walked off, and his doppleganger tagged along. "Where'd I come from?" The other raptor growled, cocking his head. "Yeah. Y'know, how the hell did another me end up running around the island?" Aircrest hissed. "...I dunno" Was his response. "How the hell do you not know?!" Aircrest hissed. "...I never thought about it?" The raptor growled. Aircrest gave him a bewildered look. "What...the hell..." Was all he could mutter. "I just appeared here. Then I run into you. Now Im here!" The raptor grunted before shrugging. "I dont see what the big deal is"
"Wait, so you just popped up randomly...ran into me...and came to terms with the fact you were looking at yourself?!" Aircrest hissed. "Mostly correct. You found me, remember?"
"I must be dreaming" Aircrest growled to himself. He looked down at his clawed hands, flexing his fingers a few times. "Its the only explanation..."
"You you talk to yourself often?" The raptor asked. "Im pretty sure that isnt a good habit"
"Shut up. Im rationalizing" Aircrest hissed, glancing to the raptor before looking to his hands again. "Looks like your admiring your claws. You self absorbed as*hole!" his double snarled
"Definitely dreaming" Aircrest growled, oblivious to the wailing Brachiosaurs in the distance

"Ah..." Rhojis glanced down at the rocky cave floor, having feared Howler would say that. His hand moving again to scratch nervously at the back of his neck, he hissed halfheartedly, "Guess you're right... Better to just get it over... Thanks Howler..." He didn't immediately move however, still having no idea how he was going to explain everything to Sylicora. After a moment, he glanced up, noticing with a slightly unpleasant jolt the approach of Fatalis. For some reason this only made him more tense, as if he was about to be reprimanded for doing something horrible...

Switchblade's eyes flicked from the expanse of sand back to Thorn as she came back to the present, nodding. "That would be good, thanks." Haze also gave a small nod, hissing in her quiet tone, "Much appreciated..."

Howler scratched his scarred face awkwardly, hissing, "You want me to, uh, back you up in case it doesn't go exactly as planned?"

"Would you?" Rhojis hissed slightly more quietly, surprised to hear how hopeful his own voice sounded. "That'd be... really helpful I think, thanks..." His yellow and amber gaze wandered around the cave, eventually resting on Sylicora, as he continued to scrape his claws distractedly over his scaly skin, plucking at the short, jagged row of off-white quills that normally lay flat against his neck, concealed by his light-colored stripes. "I uh, guess it's not too difficult to guess who I'm going to be talking to..."

"Don't worry," Howler hissed as encouragingly as possible. "I'll be right behind you." He nudged Rhojis forward, trying to urge him on...
