Sylicora continued padding quietly away from the cave, out of earshot and unaware of what went on behind her. She took enough notice of her surroundings to remember which way to go to get back to the cave, then turned and walked off into the forest, heading more or less toward the shore, soon losing herself in thought again...

Renegade's head snapped toward the entrance of the cave, his nostrils widening slightly as he sniffed the air.
"I smell him too," Pulsar growled. "Fatalis..." he could smell the raptor nearing their place of residence, and was hoping the pack leader would be able to fill him in on what was happening...

"Finally," Howler growled, overhearing the other two raptors. He trotted out of the cave, planning to meet Fatalis halfway. He was curious as to what had been going on...

Renegade's gaze followed Howler across the room and to the entrance of the cave, as he left, an eyebrow raised. Figuring he may as well too, he stepped toward the entrance, following in the other raptor's wake...

Aircrest looked around at the surrounding trees, scratching at his lower jaw as he tried to make sense of his enviroment. "Crap" He growled to himself. "Must've wandered away from the coast. I miss being able to smell..." He thought, but then shrugged. "Ill find my way back. I always manage" He continued, settling his mind. "Might as well make this worthwhile...maybe find something to eat" He mumbled as he started to walk off again, hoping to come across a kill with a little meat left on it

Rhojis looked up from his spot on the cave floor, wondering where Fatalis and his sister had been for so long, but deciding not to follow Howler and Renegade's lead. His curiosity still didn't outweigh his dread about inevitably having to face Sylicora again...

The olive raptor pushed her way past some close-growing bushes, distant yellow gaze drifting from the ground to the trees in front of her, mind roaming far away from the forest she walked through. Although she was starting to come to terms with parts of her harsh reality, it wasn't improving her mood. She still found it painfully difficult to accept what Rhojis had said and often found herself reliving their argument in her mind, claws curling as anguished resentment welled, fresh and unbearable as the first moment she felt it... For a second, a trace of what could have been identified as a raptor's scent drifted past on the breeze, but engrossed in thought, she took no notice of it...

A sneeze escaped the ill raptor, the spray scattering about on the vegetation around him. He raised his head back up and sniffled, reorienting himself. He cocked his head at a nearby rustling. His lips curled and he let out a low growl. He couldnt tell what exactly was making the noise through scent, so assuming the worst, he crouched down. His tense legs suddenly released the pent up energy stored in their muscles, springing him up into a tree branch with a soft rustle as he shot out of the undegrowth. He dropped down onto the branch, nestling himself amongst the leaves and keeping his senses sharp

Fatalis landed in front of Howler as he arrived. "Ah. Howler. How've you four been handling yourselves while i was gone?" hissed the Raptor. having not seen them since the previous afternoon, he was interested in learning of anything worth noting...

Renegade walked forward, seeing Fatalis talking to Howler a some feet away up ahead. He quickened his pace, his head cocked to one side in curiosity. "Why were you gone for thisss long? I'd have thought you'd catch up to her in no time..."

Howler shrugged. "We haven't really done much. Rhojis is pretty depressed, though." He cocked his head as well. "Yeah, what happened? Where's Sy?"

"She's with friends. she needs time to think. she took a real nasty blow with the whole incident Rhojis told her about. she needs time to recover. I intend to stick around with her most of the time to make sure she doesn't do something she'll regret later. I need you, Renegade and Pulsar to make sure Rhojis doesn't do the same. I'll be checking in on you four from time to time. But for the most part i'll be keeping an eye on Sylicora and trying to help her deal with the loss...when she's ready, i'll bring her back. after that, I'll see whether you guys want to stick around, or head out somewhere" explained Fatalis as he walked towards the cave to check on the others...he had to see them for himself...

Banescale accepted the drink, he was still feeling like he was ebbing away, back into the dream.. he could see the sand, and the bodies, but then would see the others and the cave.

He calwed at the ground and walls in frustration, growling and hissing with anger.

Rhojis could hear voices outside coming closer to the cave entrance, one of which was definitely Fatalis. Thinking his sister couldn't be far behind, he shifted so his back was to the stone stairway and lay his head down again, staring at the gray wall...

The preoccupied raptor's gaze flicked to the side momentarily toward an odd noise she only half-heard over her own somewhat loud footsteps. She wasn't even trying to keep quiet, shuffling through low growing foliage more recklessly than she would usually. Stepping around a shattered, fallen tree, she nearly tripped as her foot snagged on a snaking vine. Lip curling, she ripped it free with such force that her outermost toe jammed straight into the tree stump. The noise forgotten, the olive raptor let out a gasping growl of pain while doing an odd sideways hop, trying not to step on her throbbing toe as she tried to keep walking. Through the pain, the same scent came again, closer than before, enough to put at least a small part of her on alert...

In response to Fatalis' comment, Renegade glanced back at the cave, hissing, "Yesss, the other one is back at the cave with Rhojis, doing jussst that. By unspoken consent," he added. "Her reaction certainly didn't help with hisss anxiety, if I heard everything correctly..."

Aircrest narrowed his eyes when he saw the olive raptor cross his path, recognizing her features. He knew he met her after his encounter with the red-backed fish eater, and with a moment's more thought, was able to muster a name for the raptor. "S...S...Slicoria? Sylionria? It has a syl, that much I know" He thought, cocking his head. He stood up, knowing the raptor wasn't a threat and walked along the branch casually as he tracked the female's movement below. He barked aloud to her "A bit far from your friends, arent'cha? Or did pack life lose its appeal?"

Still irritated from her encounter with the stump, Sylicora's head snapped up sharply at the voice, glaring at the raptor above through eyes gleaming with annoyance, snarling almost automatically, "Come to think of it, pack life did lose some of its appeal... Hey, how'd you know I..." She faded out as she took in the raptor's patterning. His voice was familiar too. She tried to slow her racing thoughts enough to remember where she'd seen him, slowing her pace a bit. "Wait, you're the loner who chased that spinosaur away from my pack's cave in the human forest, aren't you?"

"The very same" Aircrest growled as he neared the end of the branch, leaping over to another tendril shortly after. "So whats biting your tail?" He hissed as he walked down the mossy limb, turning his head away to sneeze when he finished speaking

"Let's just say we're in a delicate situation at the moment" hissed Fatalis as he eyed the two Raptors, walking into the cave, eyes scanning the surroundings, falling on the grey raptor in the corner and heading over to him. "How're you holding up, Rhojis?" inquired the Raptor...

"Relax, or you'll open your wound again," Viridis growled, watching out of the corner of her eye as Inculta took over sentry duty. Silver, Astus and Mwuaji had left to hunt, leaving Siri to watch the three hatchlings. Looked like Inculta was going to have to keep an eye out for Sylicora and Fatalis while Viridis kept watch over their wounded packmate. She settled into a crouch and let out a quiet sigh. The cave felt strangely constricting; the walls and roof seeming to close her in. She'd seen them every day of her life. She knew every crack, every crevice, every inch of their territory by heart. She wanted to see what else there was to the island. She wanted to see new faces, explore new places. Viridis glanced from Siri to Inculta. She loved them, she really did. And she knew they only wanted the best for her. They wanted her to be safe; they didn't want to lose their only daughter. But she also knew that joining Fatalis' pack was her best shot at the freedom she longed for in a relatively safe form. I just don't know how to get my parents to see that... she thought. Speaking to Banescale, she growled, "Rest is the best way to get your wound to heal quickly. It's deep but you should be able to walk again soon."

Without shifting or looking up, Rhojis made a low, apathetic grunt along with a kind of half-shrug, muttering tonelessly, "Could be worse, I guess... At least I didn't cause her death too... if what I heard is right..." He added the last part with a hint of hopefulness, having been worried that she may have come into harm's way...

The olive raptor blinked at the sneeze, but was quickly taken back to her previous thoughts. "Uh, that would be... a little complicated." She paused, picking her words carefully. "Something... bad happened, and my brother didn't tell me for a long time. I don't know if he thought it would protect me, or if he was just scared..." she explained, hearing her voice falter for a split second at the end...
