If it lands near you, you're screwed anyways. NOTHING can survive a nuclear explosion. Even in a bunker, the radiation can and will kill you if it lands where you are.

Hide in the mountains. Build a safehouse there. Gather supplies, equipment and other stuff to survive, along with gas masks with much more filters to supply a small group and hazmat suits to go through radioactive areas. Be sure to be near a nice field with a river to gro crops for extra food and hunt animals also surviving the attacks. My strategy to stay alive in a nuclear fallout...

Well, like during the post-apocalypse times. Just be sure to have the hazmats suits and gas masks atleast before the start of the fallout, along with filters. Go to an already attacked city and raid somewhat still intact buildings for supplies like food, water, filters, weapons, ammo and other stuff. They be sure to have a vehicle for fast travelling, then load up and go rescue some people you know that have yet to be attacked. Head to the mountains and steal a home close to a valley, or force the people to allow you to stay with 'em...

Well, government will get f***ed trying to sort out said situation, allowing us enough time to prepare, anyways. Then we run for the mountains and try establishing a base of sorts when everyone is put to the brink of the war, and make it a refuge/survival base for all of us survivors...*
