"Alright..." the guard said as he went off to patrol a diffrent section of the marketplace. Back at the stall aways from the shrewd seller, the young woman began to shift through what she had. She put out ontop of the desk of the stall a compass, a Sextant, some old patchments of a song written in a foreign land, and a jar containing a stillborn baby Zeuglodon, the dead creature being only about 14 inches long, less than a fraction of the total length of an adult...

As Trajan finished up his lunch, he and Dione heard the front door open hastily. Before long, several guards came into the dining hall, before bowing down in respect before the Emperor. "My my... You must have come here smelling this food... or has something happened that I must hear of?" Trajan asked, a slight grin on his face. The captain guard, a tall burly man in his forties, with wiskers on his chin and very dark skin, bowed once more before stepping forward. "Your honor, just a short while ago, a cat-like dragon caused abit of comotion in the marketplace. No one was harmed, but the dragon took off with a piece of fish." the captain explained, before delving deeper into what just happened. The captain also told the Emperor of Septimus's arrival at the marketplace, and of him berating the shrewd seller that everyone in Tristan despised...

"Excuse me, madam," a gravelly voiced hissed from near the woman at the stall, coming from a hooded, stooped-over creature whose face was obscured by the hood itself, "May I see what you have for sale?"

Septimus craned his neck as he eyed the stalls, taking note of the stall with the young woman by it, eying the rolls of parchment and the navigational tools. walking over, he growled "What's on those rolls of parchment, if you don't mind me asking?"...

The young woman looked at her two customers, before putting some more stuff onto the desk. THese included the skull of a very large serpent-like creature, and what appeared to be a small orange-colored rocket with a fuse attached to the bottom. "Why of course you can..."the girl said, before breathing in deeply. she opened up a small door in the stall, allowing the hooded being to enter into it and see what she had, before she turned to face the dragon. "As for the second question, these patchments mainly contain songs written by people in distant lands. They tend to be very well-known over in those areas, but here in Germania, or all of Aster to be honest, few people know of them. There are a few patchments, however, that contain other stuff like unfinished blueprints of flying contraptions, underwater vessels, and a map of all of Aster..."

The hooded creature dipped its head politely and stepped inside, picking up the jar containing the dead baby Zeuglodon, before turning its head towards Septimus for a moment. Its eyes seemed to glow gold from beneath the shadowy robe, but the creature swiftly turned away, investigating the map of Aster...

Uriel, meanwhile, descended back to the ground some distance from the market, knowing that tracking him in the night sky was almost impossible. Gliding behind another marble structure, the dragon dropped his catch before turning his attention to the crossbow bolts. Reaching back, the dragon yanked a few off with his jaws, while others were dislodged by rubbing his flanks against the building. Soon, all the projectiles were removed, and Uriel began eating the fish hungrily...

"How recently was that map made?" growled the Dragon curiously, his irises at this point looking like bluish white rings on a black background, his pupils dilated to adapt to the low light. with the few torches around casting a few shards of golden light on the market, the Dragon was thankful he had such well adapted eyes. the Dragon eyed the hooded being for a moment, having caught the flash of it's eyes through the corner of his own. but it had turned away before he could look at it, preventing Septimus from identifying it's features...though he would try and identify it while it remained at the stall...

The young lady looked at the man, before noticing a date printed on it. "Roughly... 3 months ago. This map I aquired on my latest trip with my father." She said, befor elooking at the hooded being. Something about it didn't seem right to her, something... odd...

By now, the Captain of the Guards had finished his report, before bowing down again. Trajan still looked completely at peace, though his eyes were narrowed abit. "What time is it now, Captain?" Trajan asked simply and plainly. THere was no joy, or sorrow, or horror in his voiceat all. The smirk on his face had dissapeared during the telling of the event, and right now, he simply wanted to know the facts. "Um, well... it's already dark outside, so it's very late evening, maybe nightime right now..." The guard said, Trajan's face lightening up somewhat. He hadn't realized he had eaten such a late lunch, and as for- "Dione, can you head out and feed that pet of your father's right now? " Trajan asked with a now worried expression on his face. he wasn't afraid of what this incident had done. He would simply order that any and all cat-like dragons in the region be banished from the area, with Dione's consent, but with it so late right now, the massive 8-headed serpent must be very hungry, and the last time it hadn't been fed past it's normal feeding time...

The hooded being nodded in approval, leaning on the staff he carried. "Certainly not outdated. Excellent. Your father must have been quite the traveler..."

"What about that? what is it exactly?" growled the Dragon curiously as he pointed a single claw at the firework...

"Indeed he was... He's now a little too ill to be travelling around right now, so he's in the care of the Catholic Church, whose taking care of him right now..." The lady said, before turning to see the firework that Septimus was pointing at. "Oh, that's a rocket, something used for entertainment. You light the fuse at the end with a flame, and once the flame enters the rocket, the rocket goes up into the air and explodes roughly 300-400 feet up, while creating quite the lovely sight. Though I've also seen them used in warfare in the place this was made..."

Dione nodded before dashing out of the food hall and out the door. True enough, it was already quite dark out, though she knew where she needed to go. Out back behind the castle, there was a large farm run by the servants, and on that farm was a stable amount of food for the Orochi to eat. All she needed to do was get a horse, cow, or unusually large boar from there, and lead it into the secret entrance into the chambers...

Khorne sifts around a bit in his lair, digging his head into the dirt for some reason, before he returns to resting.....

In the darkness of the forest, strange shadowy beasts can be seen moving about. Red eyes gleam but seem to float by themselves, as no visible form is connected to them......

Dione entered into the main farm conplex, looking around for something that would suit her late father's pet. She soon found something that would work just perfectly. It was a large horse, 6 ft at the shoulder, and was virtually blind. She had known this horse ever since she was a little girl, and cherished it while her father took care of it. But now, it was very ill, and probably would die in just a few days...

However, Dione had other plans for the horse...

Meanwhile, inside the castle, Trajan looke dback up at the Captain, and slammed his own fist on the table. "Captain, your one of my best millitary leaders. Take your squad, and hunt down that dragon. If you find it, bring it back to me, dead or alive. If the latter, I'll use it as an example to show just what happens when someone, or something opposes Germania!" Trajan ordered, his naturally loud voice echoing thruough the entire castle. Immediately, the captain saluted him, before heading out, his 7 squad members followed him on out. They already had the gear needed for taking on the dragon loaded onto their horses. Lances, shields, nets, poison darts, Arrows, Swords, they had it all loaded onto the tough animals. As the men loaded temselves onto their ride animals, they took off, heading in the direction the cat-like dragon was last seen heading... toward the dark foresty swamp...

The group of guards rode out of the city if Tristan and into the deep dark swampy forest. The group was forced to head rather slowly upon entering into the forest, as the local trail was very narrow, and fraught with tree roots, small puddles that were actually very deep, and golpher holes. The captain of the group looked around, trying to find any sign of the cat-like dragon, befor ehis eyes grew wide with fear. less than 50 feet away, deep in the underbrush, a large creature was moving through. From what he could see in the very dim light and thickness of the brush, the beast was huge, and seemed to be all fours. he could barely make out what seemed to be scales on it's body, overlapping like shingles on a roof, and a "long" tail that, in comparison to it's body, was rather short. All he got to see of the beast was a glimpse, for it began to dig into the ground using it's powerful forearms, before vanishing from view completely... "W-What was that sound?" The man behind him asked, the sound in question being the massive beast having used it's claws to rip through the earth and dig away. "To be honest, I don't know.." the captain lied. He didn't want to scare his men. Even though he and his troops were some of th emost battle-hardened group in Germania, being unable to identify something foreign was something that scared almost everyone to the bone...

Beady, red eyes watch the soldiers curiously from bushes, trees, and even out in the open, before they "disappear" without a trace. The shuffling of footsteps is heard behind one soldier......

Septimus nodded, pleased. it sounded interesting, but he decided not to take it. looking back to the various scrolls and rolls of parchment, his eyes focused on the map. the hooded being had not shown whether he would buy it or not, and decided he'd take it if the other didn't. looking at the girl, he growled "Do you have anything especially ancient in your posession?"...

"Something ancient... Wait a second..." the lady said as she began to dig through her inventory, before pulling out a large piece of hardened amber. Embedded inside was the dead body of a baby creature, the creature in question being about 3 feet long, and curled up like an embryo. it was a muddy-brown in color, and sprouting from it's lower jaw seemed to be two bumps, one on each side of the jaw. The tail of the dead baby had 5 small bumps on it, that would, if it had survived, grown to become 5 tail spikes. On the neck was a small flap of skin, that would become a frill in adulthood, and the creature in general was very scaley, it's hide covered in rough spikes. "This was something my father got over 30 years ago on a trip to a distant land, of which he never told me the name of. He said he got this from a travelling merchant, who told him that this was a preserved baby of an Akantierus. They are supposed to be the apex predators of that land, and this was had supposedly strayed away from it's nest and gotten covered in amber, and preserved over 7000 years ago, or so the merchant told my father. He said it was an old story passed down from the merchant's family from generation to generation. This is probably one of the oldest things I have in my posession..." The lady said...

"Fascinating..." the hooded creature hissed, reaching out to brush the the piece of amber, flashing a blue, scaly hand from beneath his sleeve for a moment as he did so. "In all my years, that is something truly unique..."

The Dragon's eyes narrowed on the amber. he would have to investigate the creature later. reaching forward, he picked the amber up in his claws, held between his index finger and his thumb, eying it with a keen eye for several moments, his eyes seeming to see beyond what was there. "Interesting....Count that among what i'll purchase off you" rumbled the Dragon, before glancing towards the rolls of parchment. "Do you have anything in there of a more....arcane nature?" he inquired...
