"If I remember correctly, then Akantierus tend to be ambush predators, with very good digging skills. They tend to hide beneath the ground, waiting for prey to step ontop of them before attacking. With their coloration, one could be pratically ontop of one and not notice it was there..." Lamia said, recalling information her father had told her years back...

"That wouldn't make them hard to find," Tetto'eko replied simply. "The Lizardmen were created in Lustria, and have existed there for thousands of years. Any beast living in those jungles would have been discovered by us eventually..."

Septimus' eyes narrowed as Tetto'eko spoke. "Created? what do you mean?" he growled...

Tetto'eko smiled. "We Lizardmen were the first species to be created on this planet, by the Old Ones, our gods. At least, that is what we believe. Lustria was created for us and the Old Ones' servants, the Slann. Later on, the other species were created: humans, goblins, and everything else, as part of the Old Ones' mysterious Great Plan. In fact," Tetto'eko hissed, giving Septimus an amused look. "It is said that your kind were the only creatures to have existed before the Lizardmen..."

'That's quite intresting..." Lamia said, before continuing, "The reason I think the Akantierus haven't been found in Lustria might be becuase they're very rare, so maybe there's only one or two of them in all of Lustria. My father told me that, due to them being apex predators with little-to-no competition, their numbers are quite small, kind of like how the Orochis population was before they went extinct..."

By now, Trajan was heading up to bed, the emperor already making his way up the stairway to his bed, unaware of Dione entering the front door, her face now masking whatever fear it had on it earlier. She would keep the Orochi's escape a secret, but how...?

"I suppose that would make sense," Tetto'eko replied. "However, if that is indeed true, they are long-dead now. There are creatures in the Lustrian jungles that not even an Akantierus would be able to handle alone. Beasts that likes of which no warmblood has ever witnessed and lived."

"What kind of creatures?" Lamia inquired, her eyebrows raised once more. As far as she knew, nothing, not even an Orochi could take on an Akantierus. Their tough hides could stand up to arrows, and poison was virtually usless against them. Her father had told her that the only known way of killin gone was either starving it to death, or having it fall to it's death... add to that the spikes on it's that it could shoot with a single flick, and the poison secreted from it's fangs... Lamia's father had also told her that, according to people he had talked to, that the Akantierus were the ones that drove the Orochis to extinction. If that was so, then what kind of creature could take on an Akantierus... and survive?

"A great many things exist in Lustria, my dear," Tetto'eko replied simply. "I could not explain everything to you. It would take days to list every creature that could be potentially lethal to this Akantierus. Any apex predator that began dominating other life in the Lustrian jungles would probably find itself set upon by just about everything, in fact. I do not know if that is Sotek's influence on the creatures, or merely the instinct of survivability, but either way, no creature can tip the balance of Lustria's ecosystem for very long."

"Whats this place called again?" one goblin growled, twisting the map every which way to try and find where they were at. "Boss said its 'Lustria'." the other answered, snatching the map and turning it the right way, pointing to a location just outside of the dense jungle. "So whats wrong with it?" the first goblin asked, scratching his head as he looked at the map. Details became scarce a few miles into the jungle, according to the map. "Bunch of lizards running around here. Nasty ones, according to the boss." the second answered, continuing to look at the map, as if details were going to appear spontaneously. "Great. And not a Sentinel to be had. The Trade Prince seems to care more about his bloodthirsty machines then his people."

"Hey, its either this or jail in Steelcup. Personally I find fighting vicious lizards more appealing." said the second goblin, folding the map, his companion agreeing with numerous nods. "Isn't this place infected or something? Even the bugs can kill ya, I heard." the first goblin said, looking hard at the jungle ahead. "And that's where I come in." replied a new voice. A robed goblin stepped forward, dressed in bright reds and oranges, carrying a staff with a shining crystal for its head. "I should be able to keep this expedition from falling to disease. The other dangers here, however..." the Mak'nor goblin trailed off, looking uneasily into the jungle. Around them stood 4 Vul'nul goblins carrying large weapons, bladed and blunt alike, equipped with bronze armor. The first two Ko'tor goblins were dressed similarly, with their own set of armor, while carrying crossbows and a large supply of arrows each. "Alright, alright, enough gawking! Lets get this buffet moving." the second goblin, named Flint, said, gesturing for the others to follow. The other, Screwbolt, followed without question, the Vul'nul and Ma'tang'ga'to'ma (Tang for short), the Mak'nor goblin, not far behind.

"fascinating" growled Septimus as he eyed Tetto'eko. it didn't take any thought to make his decision there. "How long do you intend to remain in this place, Tetto'eko? I'd like to learn more of your culture, and i think you could probably tell me much that a book could not". he would've mentioned to Lamia the various things he knew of that could take on an Akanteirus, the pages specifying which having been found and read while the two discussed it. however, the Dragon's interest in the Skink's culture overrode his will to speak of the Akanteirus...afterall, cultures were more interesting than animals...

"I see... I guess that you are right on the matter... after all, all that I know of the Akantierus was taught to me by my father, so..." Lamia stuttered, now deep in thought, until a thought entered into her mind. "By the way, you mentioned something called Sotek, Tetto'eko ... Just what is Sotek?"

Khorne takes another chunk of troll meat and swallows it. It tasted downright terrible. He then remembered about the elves.

"I'd say it is time to claim my reward," Khorne hisses. He slithers out of his cave, sniffs the air, and begins to head towards the village........

Servan soon begins to assemble a hunting party within the center of the Bay village, knowing it was about time they'd have to repay that basilsk. Natasaika stays in their home and decides she didn't want to do much that day, despite what her brother had been saying to her after she had returned...

Khorne gallops towards the village, creatures that get in his way running the risk of being trampled. Shadowreavers watch him but disappear, not willing to get killed....

As the hunting party was formed by Servan, Natasaika soon began to head to the front door of her home. She cracked it open and watched as here brother gave out orders which the elves around him followed, and decided she could go outside for the moment just to see what exactly was going on...

"One of our Gods," Tetto'eko explained patiently. "Though not technically an Old One, Sotek is nonetheless one our principal deities. We sacrifice to him daily, as he is the insatiable Serpent God, always lusting for the blood of Demons and other malcontents." The grizzled Skink turned back to Septimus, smiling. "I would be most honored to assist you, my friend. I will not be..." he paused. "Well, I won't be returning to Lustria any time soon, if that's what you are wondering."

"I see... " Lamia said, before letting out a yawn. "Well, it's about time for me to close shop now. I tend to work from the latter part of the day until well into the night, and now is my time to get some shut eye..." Lamia's eyelids struggled to stay open, though her mind was fascinated with what both Septimus and the skink had said...

Trajan, now changed into his sleeping clothes, entered into his bed, the his tired eyes finally gave out on him as he fell asleep, the door to his room locked from the inside. In the stairway leading past his room, Dione continued to walk up. She knew that she would have to give out a sermon tommorow, so she really needed the sleep...

Khorne slithered along faster. He could smell a slight salty hint in the air. He was nearing his target location. Hissing with delight, Khorne continues on his way.....

Natasaika soon moves outside of the hut before going to her brother and asking, "well?" "well, what?" was his reply, as she responded, "why are you assembling hunters right now? We already have enough here for the village..."

Khorn sniffs around a bit, sticking his tongue out for a moment, before he turns his head again. He could taste the elves in the air with his tongue. Staying low, he slowly begins tocrawl towards the area.........
