The large Akantierus began to foam at the mouth, the very life in the beast being drained by the serpent. "FORGIVE ME... MASTER...." The apex predator managed to gargle before succumbing to the Basilisk's power. The creature's eyes began to glaze over, and it's heartbeat stopped, to signal that it was truly dead...

Several dozon feet away, hiding in the shadows benath a tree, sat the same figure that was spying on Septimus that morning. The being had the same notebook and feather pen out, and was sketching the Basilisk that had killed it's pet. So plan A had failed... No matter. It still had the main plan to work off to kill it's intended target...

"Pant... Pant... We just... got back here... Emperor Trajan..." The guards sighed heavily as they hyperventilated, the lack of oxygen from their mad dash from the forest to here having taken a toll on them. "Wait a second... Weren't there more of you that I sent out? WHat hppened to-" Trajan began to ask, but was silenced by one of the guards raising up his hand. "Strange creatures... ambushed us... killed off two of our members... we managed to drive them off... We tried to get back here... but one of our members was dragged into the swamp by a large Zeuglodon... But it was when... we almost got back ehre... that we saw..." The guard froze, his own mind not wanting to accept what he and the others saw on their trek back. "What was it? WHAT DID YOU DAMN SEE?!' Trajan ordered, his face growing red in anger. 'We saw... We saw.. Jeetis"

The cloaked man watched patiently from beneath the canvases, unseen, waiting to see what would happen next. he didn't want to kill the prince, as much as it was obvious he deserved no less. that would only worsen the situation. as the situation stood, the issue was simply an elf who refused to turn himself in for whatever reason. it wasn't really that much of a crime considering it was survival. but murder....that would change everything...

a wooden creak was audible not far from the boxes as the back door to an inn opened up, an elderly man stepping out, grumbling about the unruliness of the people inside as he went out to move supplies into the inn's pantry and other storage facilities. but almost the moment he opened the door, he froze and stepped back into the building and out of sight, spotting the prince. his day was going bad enough without suddenly being accused of some death-deserving crime by Prince Draco...he already saw peasants as dirt as it is...

The akanterius is quickly turned to stone in its previous stance. In his rage, khorne shatters the stone face and crushes its lower half in his coils, before the part in the middle lands on the ground with a thud. Khorne bellows in victory before he slumps to the ground, bloodied, crippled, and exhausted. "Hraesvelgr..... help.... me...." Khorne hisses....

Draco extinguishes the flames in his hands before he turns to the man from the inn and says, "You there! Inn owner! Have you seen any suspicious figures nearby here lately?"

Drakun II comes out to where all the chaos is happening, before he turns to a guard and asks, "What's going on here?" "Elves, sire. There are elven spies amongst us." "Elven spies?" Drakun II replies to almost jokingly. "What would elves want from a kingdom like us?" "I don't know," the guard says, "But there was one here. He's still hiding around here somewhere......" "Elven spy, you say...." Drakun II says. "I highly doubt it. Could just be a visitor or something." The guard does not respond and simply shakes his head.......

the innkeeper stepped forward as he was called out, eying the prince with a thoughtful gaze for a moment. "I'm afraid not, m'Lord. I've been moving goods into the Inn's stores all mornin'. if there was somethin' 'ere i would've seen it. I did see a beetly-lookin' chap walk by the door a few moments ago though. headed out the other end of the alley" he answered earnestly. he seemed in his mid 50s and had a few grey hairs growing in his beard as well as on his balding head. his face was one that seemed frozen in an eternal frown; a souvenir of the many misfortunes he had seen throughout his life...

A thought strikes Draco. Smiling, the malicious prince replies, "Good sir, would you mind if I searched through the supply shipment you recieved? I want to.... make sure..... the figures aren't hiding in them...... and, of course, if you're hiding them from ME, you know what the penalty is." The prince begisn to move towards the crates and things......

"M'Lord, the only way they could hide in there is if they tore into one of the boxes. the stores are right behind this wall. With all due respect, unless they were ghosts and could drift right through solid objects, they couldn't possibly be there. I Don't like to speak highly of meself, m'Lord, but I'm fairly certain that my 'earin's good enough that i'd 'ear em if they tried hidin' there" answered the middle-aged innkeeper. getting a thought, he opened his mouth, as if about to speak, pausing for a moment before adding "Um...m'Lord, if i may...just what exactly do these people look like? I could check the inn for you if ya like"...

Draco says, "There's actually only one. He is an elf with semi-long red hair, and his eyes change colors every time his mood changes. Find him and I'll give you a reward you deserve." Draco still turns back towards the boxes, narrowing his eyes at them before saying, "You're somewhere near here..... I can just feel it."

"A pleasure," Aviva rumbled. Shaking her head to Desrium's inquiry, she went on, "I was heading somewhere, but it can wait."

Arsenic thought his nerves were about to snap from the tension. He wanted out of this place. He was a fool to have come in the first place...

"That's a rather...interesting description m'Lord. I'll have it looked into" said the man, before leaning into the door. "Maggy! ge' over 'ere!" he called into the Inn's kitchen. A moment later a young girl, probably on the eve of her 20s, reached. as she spotted the Prince she lowered her head shyly. "Maggy, I need you to head inside and find me someone in there with red hair. an elf. keep an eye out for their eyes. if you see one whose eyes change, come back and tell me. Make sure nobody notices. We don't wanna scare 'im off!" he said. the girl nodded and walked back into the Inn silently. though in her mind she ridiculed the thought. elves? in the Inn? even if there were the odds of finding one were slim to none. still, she knew enough of the Prince's fiery temper to know that if he didn't get what he wanted, her father would be in danger...

"M'Lord, if it might help...just after i stepped inside with supplies i heard this horrific crash nearby. m'son told me it was a window's overhang further down the street. Pardon my implications but...Is there a chance this...elf...used it to cover his escape? Last elf i saw was like a bloomin' spider. ran right up the wall of me brother's farm, he did. maybe the window with the missing overhang is the place he ran in?" said the inn keeper, scratching his balding head as he did...

"No," Draco says. "I overheard my.... allies..... when they came down here that there's no tracks beyond about the halfway point, which is why we are confused as to where he could have hidden."

"I see....I'm sorry to hear that, m'lord, i really am.....if i'm not oversteppin' my bounds, what'd this elf do, exactly?" he inquired...

Maggy meanwhile looked around frantically, trying her best to hide her fear as she looked around at the patrons, hoping she'd find what she was looking for. stopping for a moment, she spotted a reddish haired person in the corner of the inn, sipping on something silently, though his eyes were drifting around at the patrons, as if expecting something. sighing in relief, she continued to round on the tables, trying to act normal until she reached the kitchen...

Draco frowns. "Where have you been for the past 500 years? Elves are not welcome here, under ANY circumstances."

"I know that much, you majesty...it's just....what elf would be so important as to force the son of the sovereign himself to chase him across the city? Isn't this usually something you'd have the guards take care of?" he inquired...

"Sorry to hear that, m'Lord. i hope we catch the blighter for you" he said. just as he finished speaking he heard his daughter call to him. "Father! i found him!" she said, almost out of breath. "You did?! where?!" he answered. "In the corner of the inn, the table without the lantern. he looked like he was expecting someone. he was looking around the inn like he was expecting someone to jump at him" she responded...

The elf raised a questioning and amused eyebrow. What poor fool was being mistaken for him? Whatever the case, hopefully the prince would get excited and leave...and Arsenic and the man who had saved him could get out of here.

The female Ra'zac had disappeared out of the alley during the exchange, vanishing around the corner and out of sight...

the girl lowered her head shyly before walking into the kitchen, her father following through until a smash was heard. rushing, the Innkeeper spotted the man struggling through the crowds, pushing people aside as he carved a path to the entrance, a makeshift hood over his head to conceal his features to avoid being identified later. he couldn't risk being captured now. his business was too important...

"Your bretheren would attack you if they saw you?" inquired Septimus curiously as he ascended, stopping when he felt the air starting to get colder. he didn't want to kill his friend of cold...

"They strike before one can react," Tetto'eko said. "They will attack first, ask questions later. They may not know I am here until either we or they are dead. Fortunately, I don't believe we'll be venturing that far into Lustria. There is only a few temple-cities close to the edge of the jungles, and all but one of those have fallen into disrepair."
