Rick watched with horror as Stan went crazy and fired at the nests below. He didn't make a move just yet, since Rikey and Maxwell had retrained stand, but was ready to help them out just in case they needed it, something unlikely considering how well they seemed to be restraining him...

Hiero sat up very quickly and looked at the beserker but then dispite the noise he had heard something else he looked out the front window and saw a large creature on top of the rocky outcroping. He reached for his Galil before crying out, "Raptor on the ridge!"

Jacob, still out of sight and out of reach, simply sighed, his face embedding itself in his palm. Incompetence surrounds me thought the man frustratedly. It was only the intention to avoid being detected and the out of reach position that kept him from shooting Stan in the face the moment he reached for his gun. no matter. chances were he'd soon die for it...and he intended to be a long way away when that happened...

The females took up the enraged cry and surged down the ridge in twos and threes, claws and teeth flashing. Their bodies and minds were focused on a single thought - to kill. To maim these creatures who would dare attack their nests. To protect the pack's future. Dodging and weaving bweteen rocks, they were soon on level ground and rapidly approaching the two-leggeds, thirsty for blood.

Hearing the screech as well, Rick took his carbine out of his backpack, keeping his finger on the trigger. It had sounded like only one animal had made the sound, but given the number of nests, it was inredibly unlikely that only one animal was going to attack them now...

David simply sat back, his face devoid of emotion. It didnt take a genius to guess that he was angry despite the blank slate his face had become. The... "comrades" he was expected to work with, people he was expected to rely on, they were complete idiots! Despite their training and experiance, not one of them could subdue trigger happy twat that decided to unload his handgun. "**** it" David thought bitterly. "If they die, they die. Clearly this mission spared the expense of hiring skilled veterans." If he wasnt occupied with the fact that the mission was comprimised by the latest happening, he would be insulted to have been included with the rest, save for a few individuals. One of said individuals was with him in the gap in containers, and he was grateful for that.

Riley shoves Stan to the ground before pulling out his AK-47 and fires at the ridge without warning upon hearing the raptor and seeing some swarm towards the monorail...

Stan struggled wildly, until the screech. He seemed to calm down by that point, simply staggering backwards, away from the incoming Deinonychus, his eyes blank yet again...

Barnes pushed his way back towards the lead car, shouting, "Everyone, get your weapons ready! Fire as soon as they're within range! Scare them off with the gunfire, and do NOT shoot the f**king nests!" Dodgson was sweating visibly as he watched the pack of Deinonychus charge the tram. "Alright, Dodgson, what the hell are those things? Utahraptor?" "No, there's too many, and they're too small. They're Deinonychus. Not exactly an improvement." "You're the one who studied these things! How do we stop them?!" "The red one on the rock? That's the Alpha Male. The Alpha Female rarely ventures far from him. If we can at least scare those two off, we can disrupt the rest of the pack!" "Don't you have a gun? Can't you help?" "I need to keep this thing moving. If enough of those Deinonychus try to shove it, it'll fall off the tracks, and we're good as dead!" "Can't we go faster?" "It's a cargo tram, not a bullet train! Just make sure those Deinonychus don't get to the cars!" Barnes nodded and moved back into the cargo car, his M4 already in hand. He placed the weapon on the edge of the car to support it, and waited. He could already see the incoming animals, at least 10 of them, maybe more, but they were still a distance off. He fired a short burst of gunfire at the animals, which didn't hit any of the raptors, but he hoped the loud noise would at least stall them for a moment...

The Alpha Male continued his vigil on the rock, watching his pack charge the egg robbers. The humans' alien contraption looked well-armored, but it wasn't a major concern. If his brethren got inside the machine, the humans were as good as dead...

In another area of the canyon, other predators heard the screeching and gunshots carry along the wind, but they were not here to defend their territory. They were here to hunt...

The females simply scattered to the sides. They split off into three groups, two of which turned and began to circle around from opposite directions. Several of them were already taking massive leaps, slamming into the sides of the armored thing, their claws raking along the sides with harsh, high-pitched screeches.

Two female Utahraptors lifted their heads in unison and looked toward the source of the commotion. One of them, slightly larget than the other, growled and showed her teeth.

Persephone got up, moved to wher she could see sme of the Deinonycus, then aimed her mangum at them and fired three shots. She just hoped herhots would hit... if she even injured he raptors, she fgured they would be down and out... an injured carnivore might as well be a usless one..

Riley quickly turned his focus on the raptors trying to flank the tram and fired at one group, soon turning to empty the rest of his gun's current clip to fire blindly at the other...

Some females let out barks of pain as they were hit or grazed, and one stumbled, but they kept going despite their wounds. The ones who had landed hits released their hold to let more of their sisters take a shot. One big female launched herself at the two-legged's contraption, flicking her sickle-shaped killer claws forward.

The tram rocked slightly from the impact, but a sinlge lightweight predator wouldn't do much to dislodge a heavy machine like the tram. Barnes, using the butt of his rifle, clocked the big female on the head, effectively knocking her off the tram car. For now, it seemed the height of the cargo car's walls and the ridge's slope were protecting them. However, when they moved past the ridge, the raptors wouldn't be running uphill anymore, and they would quickly overwhelm the humans if they weren't careful. They needed to get rid of the Alphas if they were going to get out of here without casualties...

A third Utahraptor barked sharply as it moved between the females, towering over them by an alarming degree. This was no normal predator: it was a genetic mutant, easily 36 feet long and 10 feet tall. The male Utahraptor raised its feathered head and stared off into the distance. The source of the noise, including the humans' machine and the Deinonychus nesting site, was a short walk away. If they could get there quickly and quietly while the two groups were distracted with each other, they would be easy prey. The male barked again and moved carefully down the canyon wall, his muscled legs built more for power than speed compared to his fellow Utahs...

Rick moved to where a few of the Denonychus were in his sights and open fired with his carbine, a burst of bullets being sent of one of the creatures that had not yet been injured. He pushed all other thoughts aside, now only focusing on firing on the dinosaurs that were now attacking the tram...

The big female let out a snarl, rejoining her packmates. More of them were now attacking, slamming against the hard surface in twos and threes, snapping at the humans within. Many of them were being hit, and blood streaked their mottled dusky brown feathers, but they were angry and persistent, and their wounds only made them more determined. Their nests were in danger, and there was nothing more dangerous in nature than a mother whose babies have been threatened.

The female Utahraptors followed the male at a brisk trot, their nostrils flaring at the scents carried towards them on the breeze.

Persephone reaimed her magnum at the Deinonychus, before firing off three more shots. Already, she needed to reload, but that wasn't what she was thinking. she knew she had to aim for either the head of the legs of the raptors if she wanted to take them down in one shot. Already, she was reaching into her rightside pocket for more ammo, silently cursing the small cartidge size of the handheld gun...

Rick took aim at one of the female deinonychus that was noticably larger than the others and fired another burst from his carbine, this burst aimed at the right shoulder of the creature. If the creature's shoulder was injured badly enough to cause pain when the limb was used, perhaps this would hasten the creature's deciscion to retreat...
