David eyed the office as he and Jacob walked past it, taking note of the ruined wooden doors that were probably caught in the explosion that punched the hole in the wall. Strewn across the floor were wooden chairs and tables, most of which were overturned. Along the walls and ceiling were wild vines, the tendrils of green that crept in through the ruined wall and made its way further into the facillity. Mother Nature was reclaiming the structure as her own. "Six months of abandonment is taking its toll on the inside, as well as outside" David said to Jacob as they headed down the corridor.

"Well if the standard of soldiers the U.S. hired says anything about the general workmanship, I wouldn't be surprised if this place was levelled by the environment within the next 5 years" responded Jacob lowly as he rechecked each room down the corridor on his way to the small room at the end. the corridor turned left further ahead, leading to a room with 3 corridors. two paths, one of which he was coming from now, led to the main hall where the Carnotaurs had just attacked. the third led deeper into the facility. hopefully he'd find some answers to his questions...

The Dilophosaurus continued to follow David and Jacob, staying at a cautious distance, bobbing its head occasionally and hooting like an owl. It certainly wasn't hunting them, that much was obvious. It almost seemed playful, something at odds with its large size...

The static finally cleared enough for the mercs to hear a voice through it: "Lewis--s that yo--dammit--" There was a pop, then the static stopped, and the voice sighed in relief, now much clearer. "There we go! Much better! Lewis! Lewis, is that you, you stick-in-the-mud, eh?" Barnes, though he had no earthly idea what was going on, knew this had to be important. A survivor? All their questions might be answered soon. "This is Lieutenant James Barnes of the U.S. Army," he said in a clipped, businesslike tone. "Identify yourself." "Army, eh? Well, unless Lewis is doing a poor job, then you should d*mn well know who I am!" Dodgson's eyes widened. "Wait... Andrew? Is that you? You're alive?" The voice laughed. "There we go! I knew you'd figure it out eventually!" Barnes recognized the name from the little classified information he had about the project, as well as from the papers on the Utahraptor they had found at the canyon. Dr. Andrew Jenkins, lead scientist on the island, and no doubt the one primarily responsible for the creation of the dinosaurs...

"I wouldnt go that far, friend. After all, they did hire us." David replied before turning his head slightly, looking out the corner of his eyes to the Dilophosaur. "Holy **** that thing is annoying. Ive been around cackling Hyenas, but even they werent as noisy as that ****** behind us" He muttered irritably, wondering whether or not he and Jacob should dispose of it...

A suprised look came to Rick's face when he heard the voice from the radio and when Dodgson recognized the voice. He recalled seeing the name Andrew on the title of the Utahraptor papers he had given to Barnes, only furthering his suprise...

Persephone was also a tad bit surprised when she heard what was going on. She hadn't read the paper on the Utahraptor Rick had read, so what they were talking about probably didn't have any relevance to her, but still... So there are still others alive here... Persephone smirked to herself...

Maxwell simply glances back at Barnes and as they speak into the Radio. He sighs and keeps watching, in case somethnig tried to catch them off guard...

Riley stopped in his tracks for a moment when he heard contact trying to be made to the group at first, but continued watching around for other... things that could attack the mercs.

There were eyes other than those of the Dilophosaur around. The Velociraptor pack had hunted, fed, and tracked the humans here. They were being extra-cautious, since they didn't know the terain, but they also wanted their curiosity satisfied. They would keep following if the humans reappeared. If not, they would wait until they were sure the Dilophosaur was a safe distance away before entering the place themselves.

Hiero was merely standing at ease waiting for them to move on, fully aware that while they waited predators could be tracking them but such thinking diddn't help the situation nor his state of mind so he merely kept his mouth shut and payed attention.

"So good to see you, my friend!" Jenkins said through the PA system. "Though I think you are a bit late to the party." Dodgson arched an eyebrow. "What do you mean?" "Two of your friends are already here. At least, I think they're your friends. Not very many armed men running around here, you know!" he giggled, almost childlike, then continued. "They fought off a pair of Carnotaurs. Well played, if I do say so myself. I believe they just left the main hall and are heading towards the offices, and it looks like... oh, so there he is!" "Who?" "Why, Clarence, of course! Don't you remember-- Oh, wait, that was after you left to be a pencil-pusher for our illustrious government, wasn't it?" Dodgson glowered at the PA box in the corner of the garage and said, "Alright then, who's Clarence?" "Dilophosaurus. Male. After the sh*t hit the fan he took up shop here. Friendly when he's not hungry." Barnes suddenly interjected. "Look, this is all very interesting, but we have work to do, Doctor. Where are you?" "Why, in central control of course! Lewis, didn't you tell the military man here anything?" Dodgson sighed. "You know as well as I do that this is all highly classif--" "Yes, yes, you don't need to remind me. Look, I bet you're curious as to why everyone seems to be gone. I'd love to tell you the story, but I'd feel a great deal better if I met all you fine folks in person! Please, follow the lights, and I'll lead you right to me! Want me to get your friends?" Barnes thought about this for a moment. He was obviously talking about David and Jacob, but by this point, they weren't his responsibility. He had more important things to do then round up strays. "Do what you want with them, Doctor. We're coming straight to you either way." "Aye aye, Captain!" Suddenly, a door in the far wall of the garage swung open, as if on its own, and the corridor beyond lit up, effectively guiding them onward...

Elsewhere, on the outside of the research base, a maintenance door in the side of the structure opened as well, just as the pair of injured Carnotaurus passed by...

"We don't have much choice," Barnes said as he headed for the door. "I think Dr. Jenkins here isn't all there, but he's a survivor, and one of our main objectives was to find survivors if we could. Besides, he may be able to find a way to establish contact with the Boxer."

Jenkins voice crackled over the intercom again, this time in the same corridor as Jacob and David. "Hello? Yes, you two! Up here!" A security camera at a junction up ahead blinked to life, swiveling to face the two mercs. The Dilophosaurus tailing them perked up at Jenkins' voice, its hooting momentarily stopping...

"Ignore it" said Jacob as he continued, stopping as he heard the voice in the speakers. "Well well...looks like somebody's home afterall" he said, half muttering it as he looked up. "Your voice is unfamiliar. Are you one of the survivors of this facility?" he asked. he was wary of his surroundings, the eerie feeling he was being watched by more than just the Dilophosaur having been present until he went further down the corridor...

Once Jacob stopped, David did the same, slipping his knives back into their sheaths and swinging his gun off of his back after, turning around as he did. He held his gun right infront of his face, closed one eye and stared right down the length of the weapon, iron sight aligned with the Dilophosaur's chest area. It wouldnt get an opening to attack if he could help it.

"How astute of you!" Jenkins replied. "I am Doctor Andrew Jenkins, head scientist of this facility!" After a short pause, he added, "Could you tell your friend to lower his weapon? Clarence does not like aggressive posturing in his territory, you know." The Dilophosaurus had, indeed, reacted accordingly. Its head reared back, mouth slightly agape and arms spread wide, the red folds on its neck rippling in response...

"Well, considering 'Clarence' is easily capable of killing a fullgrown man or two if given half a chance, perhaps it should be the one to leave us be, don't you think?" responded Jacob calmly, having doubts that the man was really completely sane and not wanting to risk letting him give the animal a command to attack...

"Now now, don't you know anything about animals?" Jenkins replied. "In case you haven't guessed, this is his territory. Dilophosaurus are extraordinarily docile when not hunting, unless provoked. And no one likes being threatened in their own home, don't you agree? Besides, what do you expect me to do? Tell him to shoo?" He giggled and added, "He's not my pet, if that's what you were wondering!"

David began to gently squeeze on the trigger as he contemplated a course of action. After a short moment of thought, David persisted, keeping his gun raised and poised to kill. If he changed his stance, that would be an act of submission. He wasnt going to send the message that he and his partner were prey, open to attack whenever the predator felt like it. It makes a move to advance and its chest cavity gets ripped apart by 5.56 mm rounds.
