Aircrest stepped back from the mostly skeletonized Abrictosaur, having eaten his fill. There was still some meat for the carcass, so compies would be on the kill shortly, there would be dispute among the small scavengers as to how the remains would be shared. Aircrest ran his tongue around his bloodied lips before he started to walk away into the undergrowth. This part of the jungle was unfamiliar to him, which wouldnt be true for much longer given his wandering tendancies. Before he did any exploring however, he wanted to find a stream to drink from and wash away the blood coating his snout and claws. He started to scent the air and listened for the telltale trickling of running water.

Darkness stood at a crossroad of sorts inside the cave system; one branch led to familiar ground, while the other remained a mystery. Taking his chances in the black abyss of the cave, the dark raptor slipped inside the unfamiliar passage, sliding down a steep ramp with little difficulty, the cave opening up wider and wider as he descended. Eventually Darkness reached the bottom, and the smell and sounds of water reached his senses. Walking forward, the dark raptor found that the path ahead led into another small passage, while the area to his flank was completely open, leading to a small underground pool. Darkness was hesitant to near the pool, unsure of what could be living in its depths...and his fears were soon realize as he passed, a long, snake-like hiss reaching him, originating from the dark waters, the raptor hastening his pace as a result...

It didnt take long for the black striped raptor to catch the aroma of flowing water and quicken his pace, maneuvering through the dense jungle. Aircrest jumped over the various bushes and ducked under low vines as he made his way towards the stream just ahead. He could see it through the few breaks in the trees. After a short while more of walking, Aircrest came to its edge, the current moving at a comfortable rate and the depth managable. He could slip inside after quenching his thirst and rinse the blood away without worry of beind swept along. With that, Aircrest dipped his snout into the water, the red stain gradually being washed away by the clear water

Ba'al sniffed the air, the monstrous tarbosaur growing hungry. Drool dripped from his maw as he stepped two steps forward. Edmontosaurs. A small group was nearby, somewhere within a mile or so. The Tarbosaur's eyes narrow, as he lowers his form to the ground. 'Twas time to hunt, and Ba'al was ready for fresh meat.....

As the pair of Styracosaurus continued to drink from the swampy water, the pair of eyes and the massive "log" submerged, with only a few ripples to notify of the existance. One Styracosaur looked up, before resuming drinking.

THis, was a fatal mistake.

The small herd of Edmontos were by now back into the forest, and the Rex attack had been all but forgotten to the dull-witted animals. The herd was once again moving along through the forest, acting as if nothing had even happened...

As Aircrest drank, something watched in the shade of a large tree mere feet away. the bark of the trunk seemed to shift suddenly, though silently, a single dark orange, chameleon-like eye watching him curiously, the Carnotaurus almost perfectly hidden in the shadow of the large tree, it's lips pulling back slightly, the tips of it's pointed teeth exposed to the air for a few seconds as a narrow tongue flicked forward, tasting the air, assisting it's sense of smell to be sure it smelled what it thought it smelled. after being sure it was alone, the creature closed it's jaws once more, remaining completely still, debating whether to eat the Raptor or not...

Aircrest pulled his mouth up from the water, droplets raining back down into the stream. His snout was clean of blood, though his claws were still stained crimson. He took a moment to breathe in the fresh air blowing on a breeze, his eyes closing as he enjoyed serenity for a few seconds

Then his eyes shot open again when he smelled something putrid, the smell of decaying flesh. The breath of another predator. "Aw hell..." Aircrest thought, taking in another odor, the scent of a carnotaur. He tried to stay calm. Looking around to spot the other carnivore could just make it attack faster, trying to make sure its prey doesnt run. Then again, maybe it wasnt hungry at all and it was just here to take a drink, though Aircrest didnt intend to wait around to see which was true. He crouched down before springing up onto a tree branch, preparing to make another jump to a higher limb.

As the Raptor leapt the Carnotaur made it's decision, stepping towards the water as it's camouflage faded, revealing dark green skin with grey tigerstripes, it's natural skin very good camouflage in and of itself, the animal lapping up several mouthfulls of water, both eyes still trained on the Raptor above...

Aircrest leapt up onto the higher branch and crouched down, grabbing onto the branch with his clawed hands and baring his teeth at the larger carnivore, as if to say "Not today, not ever". Shortly afterwards, the green and black raptor shot off onto another branch in a completely different tree, the close proximity of each of the titanus plants meaning the gaps between limbs was small. When Aircrest landed, he simply ran along the branch before stepping onto another, crossing the stream from above...

Lightning and Sabre continuously shredded away at the liver ov the hadrosaur carcass, finishing off most of it, but saved chunks for the chicks in the pack, which had been brought along during the hunt. The youngsters, slightly able to fend for themselves now, moved in towards the kill, some going directly for the corpse whilst the rest went for the pieces of liver left behind by the pack alphas. Valu edged closer and closer to the carcass, awaiting her turn to eat...

The Carnotaurus simply snorted at the Raptor as it left, quenching it's thirst, before returning to it's spot, awaiting the next thirsty creature to stumble upon the stream...

Not too long later, Aircrest dropped down onto the opposite bank, wary of the predator on the other side. He'd have to be careful around this part and look out for others. He glanced to his blood covered claws and quickly remembered what he was going to do before the short encounter, slipping into the stream and letting the water wash over his green and black hide. As Aircrest waded through the the calm stream, he saw an unnatrual structure upstream, a patch of dullen silver amongst the greenery. The area surrounding it was a thicket of bushes and shrubs. What the raptor could see of the wall had firey red and orange streaks from years of rust. Leafy tendrils gripped the surfaces, while willowy leaves hung off the sides from above. The thick branches of the nearby trees punched right through strange holes in the structure, framed by grimy jagged edges, the openings allowing light to stream through when the sun was at the right angle. The construct was ominous, looming in the shadows of the dense growth of plants and trees, concealing its secrets within. It was if the jungle was trying to assimilate the alien construct, to hide it away underneath the tangled limbs of trees, leaves and vines and forget about it. It reminded him of the other structures he'd seen before from wandering the island. They were all an infuriating mystery to the raptor. The questions raised all nagged for answers that he-and for that matter, no one else- had. Despite that, the raptor was drawn to the structure by curiosity, moving back onto the muddy bank and starting down it towards the strange building

Near the small herd of Hadrosaurs, a two pairs of gleaming eyes, one yellow, the other red, stare out from the shrubbery. Goldfang and her mate, Pale Kaiser, focus on one particular individual edmontosaur, waiting until that one seems to mvoe a bit away. However, they were not the only ones locked onto the scent....

Ba'al was steadily moving closer to the herd. He began to smell two allosaurids. However, he ignored the scents, driven blindly by hunger, and continued on his quest to get food in his stomach....

Gothmog ate a bit more from his kill, before becoming steadily more exhausted before falling into a deep sleep...

Deep within the structure, a pair of amber eyes stared at the Raptor warily, narrowing as the creature turned, disappearing within the depths of the massive facility, it's dark, dusty, somewhat overgrown corridors seeming to echo with voices of another time. But even the voices of time were reduced to mere whispers here, it's secrets concealed in a veil no ordinary creature could decipher...

When Aircrest reached the building, he saw features that were previously obscured by the thick treetops that encased it in a green shroud. One such feature was a branch that pierced through one of the strange holes in the wall. It reappeared through another and contoured to the shape of the building, forming a sickle shape if one were to look down at it from above. Another thing striking about the place was a large dome at the top, grimy like the material framing the holes in the walls. Black beams contoured to the shape of the construct. These had a sheen when the light hit them. The strange thing was that a small tree was growing out from it, a few branches managing to break through the semi transparent barrier. They reached out for the canopies of the surrounding trees. Eventually they would be large enough that the leaves would hide this part of the structure, even from up close. Aircrest made a low whistling noise as he began to circle around it, navigating the tightly packed brush that surrounded the construct before finally jumping up into one of the trees. From his perch, he realized the tree wasnt small, infact it was quite large, its trunk seemed to be just a bit shorter than the height of the building itself! The realization that the plant was relatively young astounded Aircrest. "How did it spread its roots in a place like that?!" He growled, eyes widening at the sight. It was things like this that made wandering worth it, being able to see such strange places, disregarding the numerous questions they brought up. Getting over the shock, Aircrest peered through the murky dome, looking past smears of green and brown to see that there was indeed dirt at the metalic base of the dome. "Why was there dirt for a tree in a place like this?" The raptor thought, before starting to chuckle at himself. "I dont know Aircrest! Maybe the answer is inside!" He hissed, mocking himself. Still, he was interested in what laid beyond the gray walls, so he started to walk along the branches to the tree nearest to the building then down the branch extended into and around the building. When the raptor came to the wall, he crouched down then kicked off onto the roof, claws tapping against the metal when he landed.

intriguing....This one shows interest. an adventure hunter, perhaps. Or a thrill seeker hoping to find their next dose of excitement. or perhaps.....well. we'll soon see... thought the creature in the facility as it eyed the green, black-striped Raptor from the shadows, weaving through the human debris and into one of the labyrinthine hallways within...perhaps this one could be of use....a source of entertainment, perhaps...

Scouring the leaf covered roof, Aircrest was caught by suprise when he went to put his foot down and didnt feel the unnatrual surface. He pulled back from the spot and crouched down to examine it, looking down past the vines and leaves. Through the gaps in the growth he saw that there was indeed a hole in the roof, barely big enough for a raptor to fit through. Rust formed a bright orange ring around its edges. Several feet below seemed to be a platform, its shape barely visable in the darkness. Spotting his entrance, Aircrest parted the cover of vegetation, allowing stray rays of sunlight to enter the building before dropping in, landing lightly inside the building. Aircrest looked around the interior of the structure, its darkness almost uniform except for the light flowing in from the holes branches grew through and the hole in the roof. "Well isnt this something..." The black striped raptor growled as he walked along the catwalk he landed on, sickle claw tapping against the strange surface. He panned his head back and forth as he waited for his eyes to adapt to the low light

the echoing taps of the Raptor's foot claws seemed to dance across the walls of the building, the metallic symphony both beautiful and haunting, a strange melancholic melody that resounded throughout the large main hall. vines were draped casually through holes and former windows, the glass in some places still intact, an ageing witness to a time long forgotten. ahead of the Raptor was a worn down, blackened skeleton, the clothes that once covered the human shredded and mangled from a combination of the attacker that had brought about it's untimely demise, and the years of erosion, the decaying flesh having had no small part in the damage done when the creature had died. the remains of what had at one time been a clipboard lay just out of reach of the corpse's hand. the writing on it had smudged and faded with time, though at one time it would've been a progress report of a Raptor pack. clipped to it was a faded picture of a reddish brown Raptor, black stripes bleeding from a thick stripe running down it's back, a creamy orange underside faded by time to the point it seemed white. hidden beneath that was a second report, the picture pure black, Project Azrael written in thick black writing, the ink having run slightly due to humidity...

Aircrest was almost entranced by the sound that filled the air with each step he took. Living out on the island, the only echo he heard was that of giants, proclaiming their pressence to the rest of the island. He had heard such a sound not too long ago and paid no mind to it. It was a rare occasion when the raptor heard his own footsteps, and rarer still to hear them on metal walk ways. His eyes were still adjusting to the dark, the slitted pupils wide and taking up most of his amber eyes. He saw the silhouette of an object in fron of him and shortly after he was able to make out what it was: a skeleton of some sort. He never saw a dinosaur that looked like that. Where was this creature's claws and tail? Where was it's snout? The questions bounced around in the raptor's mind as he lowered himself to the bones, nostrils flaring as he sniffed at it, but there was nothing to learn. Too much time had passed for any scents to linger on it. He could see claw and teeth marks left on the bones... the patterns familiar to him. A raptor had killed this creature. Aircrest then looked to the scattered documents just beside the skeleton's thigh. "Those are some strange leaves..." He growled to himself with a cock of his head

Steeltalon had returned to what she thought of as her home and was resting on a large rock that overlooked the stream, sullenly crunching up another compy. The galli, when she'd found what remained, had had little if anything worth eating on it, so she'd left it to the scavengers. Now she watched the water a few feet below her as if hoping that something would jump high enough for her to grab.
