Down in the river, Bias continued to swim through, on the hunt.

For him, however, the hunt would run into him.

Several sharp points of pain rippled across the side of Bias's body, causing the Croc to gurgle in pain. Something had attacked him. As he looked around, trying to identify what it was, another set of what fel tlike spikes nailed into his side once more. BLood was now spilling from the Croc's wounds. The deinosuchus swung his head to the side where he felt the pain, mouth wide open. He snapped it shut, but didn't hit anything...

"Indeed," the male growled, affection softening his features as he watched the hatchlings for a few moments. Alira had let out a surprised squeak and flipped back onto her feet. As the black and silver-striped male watched, she nudged Blade back. Xanthe turned back to Aurora, his mind focusing now on something more worrying, especially when there were young members of the pack to consider. "A Rex and a Daspletosaur," he repeated, narrowing his eyes thoughtfully. "Where did you encounter them? Outside our territory?"

By now, the river was in an uproar as Bias sunk beneath the surface, in order to try and find this assailant. Using a special membrane on his eyes, the Deinosuchus looked around beneath the murky surface. Suddenly, the row of pain pierced through his side once more, cutting through his leathery hide. THe deinosuchus whirled around, only catching a glimpse of a shark-like tail dissapearing out of the short view he had...

Gustav was very interested now, entering the water he saw that the Deinosuchus he saw before was being attacked by something. Gustav swam quickly over keeping an eye on everything around him not wanting to share the same torcher as this Croc...

"Far outside. Don't worry. I was hunting on a game trail in neutral ground. herded the kill away from any nearby territories. It was just my luck that those two juveniles were also in the area and picked up on the scent" responded Aurora coolly, as Blade hopped back at the nudge, once again putting Cirrus between himself and the youngster, though this time it was more to annoy the other male than to avoid Alira...

Xanthe relaxed marginally at this. "I see. Well, don't beat yourself up over it - what matters is you were able to bring most of the kill back." A few other members of the pack, drawn by the smell of a kill, were already edging forward. Some of them, he knew, weren't happy with the fact that Xanthe had accepted Aurora into the pack in the first place. But as long as he was leader, his word was enough to keep most of them in their place.

Alira started chasing Blade around Cirrus again, much to the annoyance of the gray male. Savarna was dividing her attention between the three youngsters and keeping an eye on the members of the pack who had been the most vocal in their displeasure over the alphas' decision. If any of them tried to start trouble, it was up to the leaders of the pack to diffuse the situation quickly.

Aircrest sighed and pulled his clawed hands from the water, inspecting them. A few of his talons had a faint scarlet tinge to them. The raptor sighed again and thought "Good enough" He looked up, peering through the jungle canopy. Through the breaks in the tree tops he saw that the sky was a fiery orange with large clouds rolling over the island. "Its almost dusk...time to find a place to spend the night...damn headache..." Aircrest thought, wincing at a sudden throbbing pain. He made his way to the rocky wall around the creek, leaping up onto a craggy ledge and climbing out of the trench as he considered places to make his nightly refuge

Darkness took a few gulps of the clear liquid, his thirst quickly quenched as he observed his surroundings. The scent of blood no longer dominated the air, so he had a better chance of getting back without a problem. The stream was small at this portion, which meant not many large predators came to drink, especially with dense jungle nearby. The dark raptor scented the air just in case, and found nothing, except a few compies a ways downstream...

Bias continued to looka aroudn in increasing rage, trying to find whee his attacker was. As he seached, the same row of stabbing nailed Gustave in the side, causing blood from the other Deinosuchus to begin to leak into the river. However, this time the top of the tail was visible above the water's surface, the attacker now swimming back toward Bias, as if pursuiting something...

"I just...wish they weren't so hostile towards me...It's like they believe I'd kill them the first chance I got...I don't want my son to grow up surrounded by hatred" rumbled the female somewhat defeatedly. since she arrived here, her stomach bulging with eggs, she had been treated with contempt. it was as if she had simply gone back to the very pack that had exiled her. her past was marred in mystery. no one knew her parents, and most held a fear of her through such trivialities as her personality, mysterious past and even the look in her eyes. When she was young, she couldn't've cared less. She had a mate who led a pack, and understood her, one who was charismatic enough to diffuse any argument the other packmates could throw together to try and have her exiled, and was even clever enough to see attacks from the others coming. but with the loss of him to a hunt gone horribly wrong, everything went to hell. one of the stronger females in the pack took charge, crushing whatever challenger dared face her, and subsequently exiled Aurora, caring little for the unborn hatchlings that filled the female's stomach. it was by fate that she found a new pack, and with it, hope that her son would live a happy, trouble-free life away from the horrors of prejudice and hatred aimed at his mother. sadly, it was not to be...

"They just need time," Xanthe replied gently. "The circumstances of your arrival were a bit odd. It's natural for them to be a little suspicious." A little-known fact about him was that he had not been born in this pack either. He knew the hardship of being an outsider. He'd had to fight long and hard to get where he was now, and even now had to reaffirm his position as alpha when cocky younger males challenged him. He was only glad that his older son hadn't been one of those. "Once they see they can't make you leave - and that I'm not going to, with your son so young - things will settle down."
