The sunrise fell on a pack minus one leader. Xanthe was missing from where he'd fallen alseep - opposite Savarna, the adults' heads resting close together as their bodies sheltered their precious children. The alpha male had left only moments before, as the still-warm spot where he had lain proved. But where had he gone?

The black and gray male was making his way toward the subadults, ready to hear of their success or failure. He was not expecting to see a kill, intact aside from a few bloodletting wounds. And yet, that was exactly what he found. Pride welled in him as he looked at the tired sentries. "well done," he growled, trying not to wake the sleeping hunters. They deserved their rest. "When the rest of the pack wakes, they will feed well." he smiled as the sentries exchanged exhausted grins. Xanthe turned to go. These young pack members had more than proven their worth. They would be well-valued.

" So... what are we going to do today?" Blackside grumbled as she and Monozu moved off from the clearing and into the tropical jungle that covered most of the northern side of the island. "Well..."Monozu began, but the Suchomimus was cut of by a peculiar scent, one that seemed to fill the area. Both he and Blackside began to sniff, before they both realized just what this odor was.

A female Tyrannosaurus had left its scent here, and judging from the smell, it was in search of a mate...

The green raptor's lower jaw raised from the branch as fluttering filled the jungle canopy. His eyelids pried themselves apart, dull amber eyes taking in the morning scenery after a night of restless sleep. He saw numerous blurry shapes taking to the skies, birds cutting through the leaves to circle the island from above. The muddled image gradually faded as Aircrest came out of his groggy state and he got back to his feet, balancing nimbly on the tree limb, joints cracking as he did. Despite his fitful slumber and his strange dreams, his headache was gone, which made him glad. He could go about the day without the pounding distracting him. With that in mind, the green and black raptor made his way down the branch before hopping onto another. Like every other morning, he'd get a drink of water then find something to eat. Afterwards however, he wouldn't wander the island aimlessly. Instead, he had a more...productive goal in mind.

Steeltalon was awoken by the first slivers of light that found their way into the underground cave, and a loud complaint from her stomach. She let out a groan and flipped onto her back, enjoying the sensation of cool sand on her scales for a moment as she stretched. She stared at the wall opposite her for a moment, wondering at how different the familiar stone wall looked upside down. Then her stomach growled again, reminding her that she'd had little to eat the day before. With a long-suffering sigh she abandoned her comfortable position and climbed outside. With a little luck maybe she'd catch a fish today. Or, really, anything other than compies. Living off the b*stards did something to one's taste buds after a while - one forgot what real food tasted like.

Darkness arrived at the cave not long after the sun rose, his continuous rest the previous day allowing him to get up early, a truly rare thing for him indeed. The dark raptor, despite his restful state, still looked dazed as he made his way across the clearing to the cave entrance itself, climbing lazily onto his perch...

Sand Claw yawns once more, awaking from a uneventful night. As the Ceratosaur stands his brain is sent a dull pain, Sand Claw would be grining if he could. The pain has subsided to only a dull pain, he can now hunt. This realization was fantastic in the eyes of this predator. Scarred Sand Claw heads off into the forest to hunt...

Heading back from where he spent the night brought Aircrest back to the corpse of the brown and white raptor. The hours of the moon had no mercy on it, as it was pecked clean by hungry compies, leaving pink and maroon stained bones held together by scraps of flesh and sinew. Its purple eyes were gone, gouged out by a compy's claws or pecked out by its hungry jaws. If what the elder raptor had said was true, there was a high chance this would be him in the future, his green hide stripped away and his features all but unrecognizable. The raptor shuddered at the thought and turned away from the sight. He wouldn't meet the same fate, he'd make sure of it. It was time he stopped living in fear of the island he called home, time to adapt to its dangers and appreciate its wonders. He had seen many over his journeys across Sorna but he was far too hindered by his inhibitions to take his surroundings in. That would change, starting now.

The raptor turned his heading towards the last water source he came across the day before, the creek that wasn't too far from where he was now. He launched himself from branch to branch as he made his way towards it, avoiding vines and hanging leaves along the way

Sand Claw stalked his unsuspecting prey, the prey was a small herd of stegosaurus. Sand Claw surved the herd looking for young ones and sick adults. The ceratosaur nearly moved on when he spotted a juvenile no more than five hundred pounds easily in his prey size range, the problem the youngster is surrounded by five adult stegosaurus. Sand Claw crouches lower in the jungle growth seeing any openings...

Clavus was grazing with the herd, when while partially chewing ferns and cycads and watching the juvenile, he picked up a scent that he didn't like and grunted a warning to the females in the group telling them to stay alert

At the mouth of the northernmost river, Moa and her daughter were swimming slowly toether, the tiny little offspring sticking close to her mother's side. Unlike their close relatives the Moniter Lizards, Mosasaurs lived in family groups, and only young males were forced out of the family groups. Moa looked down at her young one, before nudging it caringly. To her, this young one was the most precious thing she had...

Monozu looked around in all directions, fear beginning o grip the Suchomimus's heart. "We better get going from here, Blackside. THis is a very dangerous area to be in." Monozu hissed timidly as he began to back up. " Why should we leave here? I don't smell the female herself being nearby, so we should be safe." Blackside growled, much to Monozu's irritance. He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had known Blackside for three years, and he knew she was... sorta clueless sometimes, but for her not to know about the dangers of-

A large figure emerged from behind a palm tree, snapping Monozu from his thoughts. When his eyes locked onto the newcomer, the Suchomimus's eyes widened with terror. It was exactly as he had feared. It was a massive, male Tyrannosaurus, drawn by the scent left by the female. it was 55 feet long, at at 8 tons, it was a brute of a Tyrannosaur. Its skin was back in color, with patches of yellow scattered along its side and back. numerous scars covered its face and side. The massive black T-rex glared at Monozu wih burning eyes, forcing the Spinosaurid to back into the underbrush out of fear...

...leaving Blackside alone with a titan of a carnivore.

Renegade groggily opened one eye, immediately closing it again when the filtered green light from above found his gaze. His head seemed to pulse with a dull ache, as he tried to make sense of his surroundings. He put his head back down, letting his eyes become used to the light...

Bane continued to sleep, having not done so adequately for a few days, oblivious to anything going on around him...

As Blade jumped at the Compy it scrambled, skittering away as Blade squeaked after it, upset that his new playmate had left. but before he could get out of reach he felt himself suddenly stop, looking back to see his mother's mouth holding onto the tip of his tail, surprisingly not hurting him, the female pulling him back towards her as her tail curled to cut off his path, Aurora nuzzling her youngster affectionately. "Where do you think you're going, little one?" she murred with a smile, giggling lightly as she heard Blade squeak in protest, though finally relenting and rubbing up against the curve of the female's neck...

A pair of cyan eyes watched the Raptor curiously, Crusher rising to his feet now that the 'guest' was awake. he pulled a strip of flesh from the carcass and tossed it, the slab hitting the ground about a foot away from the Raptor's head. "You must be hungry. Go ahead and eat" he growled with a smile, before turning towards the leg, digging in himself, the movement reminding him of how hungry he was himself...

Renegade turned his head to the side as he heard a slap on the ground beside him, noticing the large dinosaur for the first time. Much as his stomach agreed with the stranger's offer, he didn't touch the food. Warily, he growled, "And who would you be?"

Cirrus's bright amber eyes were locked on a dragonfly, his head swivelling to follow the insect's movements. The gray youngster got slowly to his feet, edging past the bulk of his mother's sleeping form and the tightly-curled tiny ball of black and red that was Alira. Putting each clawed foot down lightly, leaning forward to make himself look even smaller than he was, Cirrus stalked his prey. The dragonfly buzzed away, always a little bit out of his reach. When he reached the edge of the nest and scrambled up it, the dragonfly did a sudden flip and shot by the young Allosaur's nose. The sudden movement caught him by surprise and he waited just a second too long. The insect was gone by the time Cirrus turned to chase it. He let out a squeaky growl of frustration. Then his eyes widened as he realized where he was. His mum was asleep, dad was away, and he was looking out at lots more space to play and hide in. He snuck a glance at Alira and Savarna, making sure they were still sleeping, before quietly scrambling down the small slope and taking off in a random direction. This wasn't so bad! There was so much space and freedom, and he could do as he pleased without his parents telling him not to.

"The reason you're not still laying on the jungle floor in plain sight of whoever might've been chasing you" growled Crusher between mouthfuls, the young Rex wolfing down large slabs of flesh hungrily. he could smell Darkness nearby. the smell was fresh, so he knew the ebony Raptor was likely present, most likely on his perch...

Blade managed to ease away from his mother without her noticing, leaping over her tail as he spotted Cirrus heading for the edge. the youngster scampered after the other male as quietly as he could, thinking she hadn't noticed, soon reaching Cirrus' side with a quiet, curious squeak...

Cirrus warned the other hatchling to be quiet with a low chattering sound, glancing back at Savarna. With a quick look around, he gave Blade a gentle, playful headbutt on the shoulder and darted off, tiny claws scrambling for purchase on the terrain as he made a quick turn to avoid crashing into a sleeping adult's flank.

Blade was quick to follow, bolting after the other youngster as fast as his legs would carry him, moving right behind the other male, emerald eyes wide with excitement, leaping over the tail of one of the sleeping adults as he dashed after Cirrus...

Cirrus started a series of circles around one of their packmates, the Allosaur opening one eye halfway and letting out a sleepy grunt before turning her head away. The gray male glanced behind him to see if Blade was still following.

The male Tyrannosaurus grunted as his eyes locked upon Blackside. He had come for a diffrent female... but, Tyrannosaurs weren't all that picky about choosing mates. The male neared Blackside, letting out a low, dark hiss as he circled her, inspecting her carefully. Blackside, oddly enough, wasn't scared, or frightened, but instead, had the faintest hints of a smirk on her face.

"Sorry, but I'm not intrested..." Blackside snarled as she walked off. The large black Rex starred in disbelief, before he followed her, letting out a throaty, strained roar. Blackside knew this was a mating call, but she pretended to ignore him, and kept on going in circles, the male Rex trying desperately to impess her...

From the shadows, Monozu watched the whole thing. Damnit! Why did I break down and leave Blackside in danger? the Suchomimus hissed in his mind. As he watched Blackside deal with the Male Rex, every fiber of his being screamed at him to jump back in there and save her, but he couldn't move at all. He was simply frozen in fear. He envied Blackside's bldness and lack of fear. While he was timid and bolted when trouble came knocking, she was bold, rash, and headstrong, and didn't know when to back away from danger...

"Could you eat any louder?" Darkness growled sleepily from his perch. "And stop talking to your food. Its unhealthy." he continued, shifting into a more comfortable position.
