Its not that it was an ISS clone, It was quite different in fact, with a cool explanation for how all sorts of animals from different environments can exist in one nature preserve. The problem? It died. People weren't posting in it, and if they did at all it was sporadic as all hell. The only way it would come back is if people pledge to actually put effort into it, but even then that doesn't guarantee revival.

i know for one that i never put much effort into my posts in the rpg and i regret it and it would be wonderful if KP or TT or anyone else decides to bring this rpg back. we could also change some rules about the animals too.

Like I said I'm not an admin, and seeing as I wasn't around while it was active I was just giving my honest opinion of what I thought it was at first glance.Though from what you say it does sounds like not a bad rpg, though I'm not really interested in it's revival,if it happens that is

Wait... am I seriously presenting ANOTHER idea after the failure of the Pokemon RPG (Which actually went beyond my expectations)?

Yes... yes I am, and I'm here to ask for the revamping and return of the Super Hero RPG. Now, this RPG did die out, much like Animal RPG and co. However, supposedly, that was because the E-war was sucking the site dry of posts. Since the E-war is now gone, how about we bring back SHRPG, but with a new backdrop and back story? Here is the main set-up for the revamped SHRPG...

In July of 1988, a dark-dome-shaped explosion destroys the city of Tokyo and sets off WW3. 31 years later, the rebuilt city, known as Neo-Tokyo, has fallen into decay. Life within the city is a living hell. Bike gangs roam the streets and terrorize those who dare head outside. The police force has become corrupt, gunning down both thugs and innocent civilians with no second questions. The city council has also become corrupt, and seek to do what they view as right in their own eyes, rather than what benefits the city. Crime runs rampant through the alleyways and cities, and murders occur daily, if noot more frequently. All hope seems abandoned for this city... But little do the evil forces that control Neo-Tokyo know that there are those among them that are more than just human...

Rules:

1.)No player is allowed to kill off somebody else. Unless the player allows you to do so.

2.)No single sentence posts.

3.)No just plain OOC posts, you must have some post related to the RPG.

4.)No, and I mean it, NO powerplaying.

5.)Complete Monster characters are acceptable, but try to flesh them out. That said, it's always a good idea to flesh out your characters...

6.)Add detail to your posts. Detail is good.

7.)All characters must have atleast two weaknesses and two strengths.

8.) Have fun. If you're not having fun while partaking in the RPG... then why are you even joining in?

Set in Tokyo?

Should I kill you now, or later?

Not Tokyo, TT... NEO-Tokyo :P

But that aside... Come on, it's a great backdrop... It'll work... plus, in this universe, Neo-Tokyo is more of a melting pot of various languages and cultures than japanese. Think of it as a miniature USA stuffed inot a single city, but with more violence and stuff... Plus, the main language is... English, of course, because English has become THE main language of the world by this time...

Its from an anime, that I'm aware of. Normally I try not to let personal opinion bias me, but I can already see you are trying to copy one anime or another. Which is no bueno.

Should be thinking about giving the players the most freedom, not setting the stage for your anime-inspired plots.

Yes, the name Neo-Tokyo DOES come from an anime (Akira, to be exact, which is FREAKING AWSOME! YOU MUST WATCH IT!), but believe me, I'm not going to do any Anime-inspired plots for this... The plots I have in mind are far, FAR more original, (And I MEAN, original... as original as one can be in an age when there' salmost nothing original at all...)

In July of 1988, a dark-dome-shaped explosion destroys the city of Tokyo and sets off WW3.

Didn't a certain character of yours use dark matter and caused dark dome shaped explosions (on a much smaller scale)

31 years later, the rebuilt city, known as Neo-Tokyo, has fallen into decay.

Glad to see that World War 3 didn't get in the way of the city being rebuilt

Also glad to see that there's no in background reason for super heroes/villains to show up. What happened in 2019? A radioactive fart of enormous proportions starts giving people SUPAH POWAHS?

I honestly don't care if it is based on an Anime. I think it would be a nice follow-up to SHRPG (which I thoroughly enjoyed; probably one of my favorite RPGs before the reboot).

Though the city should be made up, instead of basing it in a real place. it'll make things a bit less... I don't know.... disconserting, I guess.

I agree with G4E. The idea of bringing back SHRPG is fine, but it needs to be fleshed out and for the right reasons.

I would propose the RPG be set in modern times back in NYC, so that there won't be any issue about culture and technology (The original was set in 2099 and aside from technology, nothing much was different) And have something along the lines of Static Shock and Infamous as to why super heroes and villains now exist. Some accident exposed several people to something that gave them SUPAH POWAHS

Hmmm..... perhaps the bad guys can be like Neo-Nazis or something? And the powers' origins can vary from person to person? (I.E. some are the result of hyper-evolution due to mutations by radiation or otherwise, some are for magical reasons, some are alien creatures of some kind and naturally have those abilities, etc.)

Well that's how it was in SHRPG1. You had cyborgs, robots, aliens, magic, mutants and...aliens all at the same time. The RPG had a reason though as to why all of those things appeared at that time, so its not completely random, IE, future tech = new technology to alter the body/ science experiments gone wrong and the likes. The reboot would need a reason for the supers to exist, or you can just have it that super powered beings always existed throughout history, resulting in the world being completely different

Hmmm.... good point. I like the idea of an accident that gave many of the super beings their abilities.

It's always nice to hear about the possible revival of an old rpg,I'd probably join it if it went through. And as for what G4E just said, what accident do you have in mind? Something classic like radiation or would that not fit in with whatever setting is in mind?

I'm assuming he means like a nuclear meltdown or something. Those that weren't killed from the catastrophe were mutated. However, most of the city was not effected by this; only those within the general vacinity were.

Sounds good,I suppose making it a nuclear meltdown is the best way to make the reason for the characters gaining their powers through radiation.A nuke would have a blast radius that would probably reach the city, either that or the characters just happened to be far enough from any form of civilization at the time of mutation :P,no I think if the idea is powers through radiation it has to be a nuclear meltdown. If your going to keep it simple that is

It could also be something like experiments on people and animals are creating both superbeings and monsters...

Interesting thought G4E,it would not only give an explanation for the existence of the characters but leave things open for many potential villains as well,if you know what I mean
