A lucrative business is much more lucrative when you have fewer competitors, and were this information to get out....well, suffice to say, I'd have a much harder time getting a job, and you would have a much harder time going through with your...tests" said Atlas with a smirk...

Soon, Mortum left the bus that had ferried him across the city, glad to be home. It was getting late, and Max had important things to do once the sun was completely down. But the words he heard... what could they mean?

"Something comes.... something from beyond.... it comes... it knows.... it waits..."

What the hell'd that guy mean? Was he high or something? Max thought to himself. Whatever the reason, it means i'll need to keep a sharp eye out for anything odd... whic I always do, but now I must keep extra vigilance.

Max soon entered his dilapidated home, ready to call it a day and get ready for his.... uhh, night shift.

Aya's shift was pretty much done. Really, it had been a long day, with mechs, terrifying revelations, and a surprisingly large amount of tickets needing to be handed out today. She'd pulled over 2 people for broken head and tail lights today, and arrested another drunk. I think I can call it a day today, Aya thought to herself as she neared the Sheriff's station....

"Alright, lights out! There'll be no robbery tonight!" Lynch yelled. Many of his thugs sounded disappointed.

"I know i made a big deal about it, but there is important buisness I have to take care of tomorrow morning. We will raid tomorrow evening. Understood?'

Silence.

"I ******* said, UNDERSTOOD?!"

"Yes sir!"

The thugs soon head off to either sleep in their dorms or go home, as Jackson sighed and rubbed his temples. It was gonna be a loooong day tomorrow. After popping some pills and feeding Sally the rat, Lynch heads down to get some shut eye...

"True..." Lydia downed the last of her drink and set the glass aside, frowning thoughtfully. "Hmm. You claim to know all about it; what exactly do you know?" she questioned.

At last the robot's chassis was finished. It was lowered onto its back onto one of the extensions, its front plates split apart, awaiting the internal components that would uplift it from its status as a white and gray metal husk. The droid was thin and light weight, with parts of the basic frame still visible in several places, Its torso was spherical in shape, the front plates were white while the rest of it was gray. There were two semicircle notches in the plates, and when they came together they would form the full circle. There an optical device would be installed. It would be in tune with the ship's main screen, allowing Galaak to map the interior of the Cephian craft, should the robot infiltrate it successfully. Its arms were spindly with the black cables that acted as muscles in plain sight. The forearms were given a covering to protect the electronics yet to be implemented in them. One of said devices were Gravity Manipulators, the fastening for said devices seen in the palms of the three fingered hands the machine had. The legs were thicker and would have more power to them than the arms, allowing for speed, while padded circular feet would make its movement near silent. Its knees were inverted, pointing backwards rather than forwards.

Galaak wasted no time and instantly began slipping in parts, wires and cables trailing the devices he had put together while the ship put the body together. In one hand he would hold a component and in the other he would hold the tool to secure it. An electrical buzz would be audible and a small flash of light would go off anytime he connected a cable to its input.

Atlas smiled as he was asked the question, giving a brief glance at the people surrounding them, making sure that they were all a satisfactory distance from them, leaning forward as he lowered his voice. "I know that your work involves human augmentation. I know that it's based on the concept of genetic splicing with various species of living creatures with hopes of sparking desirable genetic traits in subjects. I know that it's currently operated in the basement of the hospital you work at. I know that your success rate with that project at present is...disappointing, to say the least. And....I have ideas on how to fix your problems....and improve them" said the man as he smirked...

"Good. You're up-to-date," Lydia remarked dryly. Again she found herself wondering how Atlas knew so much. Twining the end of a length of hair around her finger, as she often did when she was thinking hard, she sighed. "Alright. So what exactly do you stand to gain by helping us?" Intuition-sharpened eyes searched the man's expression. "What would you want in exchange?"

The dog rummaged noisily through the trash, unable to stuff more then its shoulders into the can without getting stuck. The animal's unnaturally powerful jaws were working nonstop to consume whatever piece of edible material it could find. Despite its increased intelligence, it was still a stray at heart, and thus had very low standards when food was involved. Despite the noise, the people walking out in the street, unable to see the strangeness of the animal from behind the trash can, didn't seem to care, as stray animals weren't particularly an oddity in the city...

Nestled by the corner of a red bricked building, the lone stray watched the unfamiliar creature as it scoured for food. His stomach pained him as his brown eyes beheld the sight, the occasional bump and thunk from within the garbage can making him wonder what bounty the drab gray container had inside. Was it the left overs of a nearby restaurant the doberman had started to associate with food? His stomach grumbled at the thought and he let out a quiet whimper at the possibility that he had just missed his chance to eat for who knows how long. Still, the other canine was larger than he was and he wasn't going to risk being injured over one potential meal...

Kevin found himself back home, his bag where he left it hours before. Still shaken by what had happened to him, he had walked all the way back from downtown Los Diamantes, through the winding streets and the maze of buildings. Through parks and over bridges, underneath train tracks. He saw the sky gradually darken as the sun began to dip into the west, igniting the sky with rich reds and oranges. After all that, he came home to normality, where things seemed to have paused and waited for his return. His father wasn't home yet still. The boy wasn't sure if that was for the better or worse. He dragged himself up the stairs and through the hallway to his room. With a swing of an arm, he slammed the door behind him and laid across the side of his bed. He kicked off his sneakers and curled up. He was staring off to the far wall of the room, where the window shutters he forgot to close the night before were still open. "Normal" Kevin croaked, knowing that his life would be far from normal now...

Pulling back slightly, the dog reached into the can with a limb, attempting to pull more trash to the front. Much to the animal's dismay, its sharp claws tore through both the can's contents as well as the can itself. Frustrated, the dog let out a half-growl half-whimper, trying to paw at the trash gently to avoid destroying it further...

The garage of the vacation home wasn't much, but it still had the old punching bag which was part of what was keeping Jake's sanity. The boy swung countless times, sending the bag knocking around, the chain tugged and pulled on the support beam it was hung on, the sound of creaking wood and swinging chain filling the room. Clearing his mind, Jake thought over the day as he continued to pummel and beat on the dusty old punching bag. Sweat dripped from his forehead, he'd been at this for a while. With each delivery Jake felt his stress and aggravation leaving his body. Life in the ring was so much simpler, then the life outside it. He felt content with the way things where, but suddenly his life had taken a turn for the worse.
Jake delivered another jab to the punching bag, tearing a hole clean through it, one half barely dangling on the end of the other, as its filling poured out. "Piece of ****!" Jake shouted, ferociously kicking at the remains of the destroyed bag. He stopped for a moment, breathing in and out. Jake relaxed wiping the sweat off his brow. He let out deep breaths trying to calm himself. "Anger's what got you into this..." Jake talked to himself under his breath. He made his way out of the garage, and into what was the living room. He sat down on a chair near a wall and stared blankly at his reflection in a mirror he had moved earlier. Still normal, nothing wrong with him, face was intact. Jake leaned forward, giving the mirror a closer look. "let's try something..." Jake focused, intently staring at his reflection in the mirror. Concentrating, he looked closely into the mirror as if commanding it with his mind. His skin began to liquefy and bubble, it rose in depth as he took his form as a faceless man once more. Jake jumped back in shock, half surprised it worked, and half surprised at how he looked. The chair tipped over landing Jake on his back, when he got up to see his reflection once more he was normal. Jake paused for a moment of thought. He picked up the chair, defeated, and then walked up stairs to sleep for the night.
Well James Bond Chinchilla and Monsta Pacman gets old after a year or so of absence. >_> Methinks I'll leave this blank until I come up with something to put here.

JoJo let out a startled yelp at the sound of tearing metal, laying flat on the afterwards to show submission towards the larger creature. He did not want the sound of his surprise be seen as a challenge to the strange animal as it fed. He was as straight as an arrow, his chin laying on the concrete between his two front paws and his tail extended behind him, still as a rock. He continued to stare at the canine, taking in its features. The color of its pelt, the strange golden ridges on its forelegs, shoulders and chest and the striking horns on its head. It was unlike any other species he had seen before...

Kala, his patience thinning, had walked around the workshop, deftly avoiding any swinging metal arms, only half-watching the process of the droid's creation. "Please tell me you're almost done," he growled irritably. "We're just giving them more time to come up with the most efficient way to blow us up."

"We have all the time we need as long as my ship remains cloaked. The rest of this region...does not" Galaak replied, barely hearing Kala over the multitude of activity going on around him. His body was bent over his creation, methodically and meticulously linking up the devices within. Most of his arms were hidden from view, inside the droid's body like some reverse autopsy, inserting its electronic and mechanical organs. Twists of his wrists were accompanied by beeps and clicks; hums and whirring. A few moments later, he stood straight, put his tools down then pulled his right glove back, revealing the wrist module. He typed in a command to bring in the key to the operation...

A large cylinder slid down from the ceiling, a few transparent windows running around its circumference illuminated up by a bright green light. With a hiss of air, the window slid upwards. Galaak slipped his hands into the opening pulling out two large capsules. The two bases were a dark gray and black in color and had a distinct sheen. In between was a containment device, violent flashes of light shining through a thin display window on either capsule. The explosives were keeping condensed plasma in a high energy state, and the knowledge that he was holding such volatile power in his hands came with a great deal of respect from the Ascatian. They were supplied to him to be used as something along the lines of artillery shells to be fired by his ship's cannons. With subtle tampering, he could make them remote activated bombs to serve his purpose. He carefully placed them on the workbench then removed one last thing from the armament transport: an energy cell. One unlike the device powering his Arc Accentuator. It would be part of the fail safe for the droid. Should it be discovered and attacked, it would run full speed at the enemy and detonate the explosives, rupturing the energy cell and adding to the blast. Such a release would not only over take a personal shielding system, it would rupture even the toughest armor.

"Personally, I'm surprised they haven't shelled the city looking for us by no--" Kala stopped mid-rant when he saw the capsules and energy cell, instinctively knowing what they were. "...I REALLY hope you know what you're doing..." he muttered...

"Do not underestimate my abilities." Galaak replied bluntly, not paying attention to pleasantries as his focus was on one of the capsules. He put it into the robot then grabbed the Molecular Bonding device, manually guiding the robotic arm with careful deliberation. He soldered the capsule to the interior plate, making sure not to pierce the casing or to damage any of the regulators, though it was ironic as the system he had for remote detonation would do just that. It would shut off the regulating devices already present in the plasma shells and- with an added burst of power from the energy cell- cause near instantaneous failure and explosion. Galaak installed the second capsule with just as much care, letting out a sigh of relief when the perilous task was finished.

"If need be. As we speak E-doch is designing the virus to cripple their ship. We might still have the opportunity to put the back up plan to use even if that is successful. I'm sure a violent explosion near their engine core wouldn't cause too much problems" Galaak replied with a chuckle when he finished implanting the energy cell. Now all that was left was wiring everything together and activating the robot...

"You seem awfully confident," Kala said warily. "Not that this isn't a good plan, but we ARE dealing with soldiers. D*mn good ones at that, if Zakai really is in charge. We'll only have the element of surprise for so long..."

The dog didn't seem to notice, or care, about the others' presence, instead continually glancing toward the street ahead, making sure none of the humans were looking for him.

Galaak made an acknowledging grunt. He knew full well what the stakes are. He was basically starting a war where he was outnumbered and quite possibly outgunned. But he had wits on his side and was certain that strategic strikes targeting the enemy's weaknesses could whittle them down and eventually lead to their defeat...

After seeing the disregard the other canine had for him, JoJo raised himself from the ground, reminded once more of his hunger. The doberman began to sniff the air when a faint aroma reached his nose. He began to separate the smell from the other odors that accompanied the trash, an eager look on his face. He spotted what used to be a can of sausage that had tumbled out of the rip in the trashcan. He jogged over to it, panting. The black and brown dog pawed at the tin until it was resting on its bottom, the top peeled back. The can was mostly empty save for the tiniest bit of meat that clung to the side of the tin. JoJo began to lick the inside of the can, savoring what little flavor remained.
