Galaak stepped into the ship's airlock, the wall panels sliding apart. He reached into the opening with his now armored hands, retrieving his silver gun and his bladed staff. He put the staff on his back and held the Arc Accentuator as the aperture below his feet opened and he found himself floating down into the fray, looking down at the havoc below. It was just as he feared, but there was nothing he could do now but put a stop it. When he saw that another was attacking the Devastator, he cringed inwardly. Now the natives were being entangled in the mess.

Kala lowered after Galaak, a low hum marking the charging of his energy weapons...

Selk had detected the energy surge well before the attack hit, and braced himself, though he was still unprepared for such a powerful blow. His armor absorbed much of it, and he only stumbled back a few steps, but the Cephian was surprised. He hadn't expected any humans here to be so strong. Nevertheless, he braced for a fight, relishing in the thought of a real challenge. As Mortum rushed forward, he was met with a powerful blow as Selk swung his shield arm up and into the knight, sending him tumbling uncontrollably through the air, only to crash into a building to Selk's left. The Cephian laughed, his voice deeper and far more threatening than before. "Is that the best you can do, primitive scum?!"

Zakai watched the proceedings carefully from the skies, easily spotting Galaak and Kala lowering to the ground from their ship. The Cephian chuckled. "Perfect... Bate, you're up next. Get in the Scout and go collect our package when you get an opening..."

Galaak started entering an order to his ship from his wrist module. The entrance to E-doch spun shut and the cannons slid back into place before the craft melded into the midst of chaos. "You go on in, Ill provide cover. They will not take you, not this night, or any night on any world" he said to Kala reassuringly, lifting the barrel of the electrical weapon, the flashing bolts dancing unpredictably as the power cell spun in its chamber...

Mortum was sent flying a long way and felt the force of the blow on his spine. Growling angrily, Mortum hopped to his feet and, using some more dark energy, lifts up a ruined car and some debris and flings it at Selk.

A well-placed pulse blast knocked the car flying away, the resulting explosion scattering the debris to the point that only small pieces pattered harmlessly against Selk's armor. "Awaits ME? Ha! On the contrary, human..." With a loud whir, Selk's chaingun began to rev up before spitting out a steady stream of deadly energy pellets at Mortum...

"With pleasure..." Kala snarled, cloaking when he hit the ground. As he moved forward, trying to find a way around to Selk's blindside without getting grazed by a stray shot from the fight, he periodically dropped out of cloak for a few seconds, then vanished again. Obviously, he did this to make sure Galaak could follow him, but also to preserve energy during his approach. He would need his cloaking device later if he ran into a sticky situation...

With lightning reflexes, Mortum uses his magic to pull to car to him as it hurtles through the air and grabs it, using it as a shield against the fearsome barrage from selk's dreadnaught.

"You cause chaos in this city, and you will answer to me. And I am death himself."

Mortum drew his Uzi and blindly fired it from behind the car for a little bit. He'll coem back out soon- those guns wouldn't be able to fire indefinitely....

Selk laughed as the Uzi's bullets pinged against his armor. "I was expecting more of a challenge from death! Show me what you've really got!" He stopped firing his chaingun, only to slam the car Mortum was using as a shield with another pulse blast, finally tearing the compromised vehicle apart in a blazing inferno...

As the car exploded, Mortum dashed towards Selk, gun sheathed and blade in hand, sending smaller blasts of energy from his hand and sword towards his opponent before he jumped towards Selk...

Ignoring the energy blasts, Selk waited until Mortum leaped before he made his move, swinging his shield arm a second time and bashing Mortum out of the sky while he was incapable of dodging, sending the knight flying backwards. "How predictable," Selk taunted. "And here I expected a fellow soldier. At least that would have made your death satisfying..."

"Are you doing that on purpose or is your suit malfunctioning?" Galaak messaged his Cephian ally, his suit patching into to Kala's communications uplink. "I know perfectly well where you are when you're cloaked"

He had configured his sensors before when he found out Cephian cloaks did not conceal all emissions, and while energy signatures were eliminated, other tell tale signs of Kala's presence remained. It were those signs that Galaak relied on to know where the Cephian was below.

With that, the Ascatian got to work finding a more discrete way down to street level. His suit was not meant for combat, diving into combat was not an option. Misdirection and agility were his primary assets, confusing the enemy and striking them off guard. In addition to that, he knew there was water all around him. Underground networks allowing it to flow to the denizens of the city would allow him to call upon his abilities to aid in the battle, if he could get it to the surface somehow. After putting out the fire in the marsh, such a task would be difficult, even with direct influence...

Mortum managed to right himself in midair, and landed, feet first against a building, before landing on the ground.

What have I been doing? Mortum thinks to himself. I can't fight this thing how I would normally deal with criminals and monsters. I need to wear it down..... but how?

Mortum snorted before spreading his arms apart and closing them together, dual waves of dark magic coming from both flanks of Selk, and begin to engulf him...

Selk's shielding system activated in response to the dark energy, the Devastator Suit seeing it as a legitimate enough threat to use up energy in the shield. Selk's suit glowed silver as it repelled the energy, the Cephian sluggishly moving forward to get out of the energy path...

"Be that as it may, I need to conserve my energy somewhat," Kala replied. "I don't want to be caught until I strike, but I don't want to waste my suit energy before the actual fighting starts..." He saw the odd armored human fighting Selk's Devastator, and using some sort of energy manipulation. That was certainly odd. From what he picked up from human transmissions, they didn't have that ability, or at least no very often enough to warrant investigation into the phenomenon...

Mortum smirked. His strategy was working as planned. The thing's shielding was activated, which meant it was using up energy. All Mortum had to do now was keep up the pressure until the shields pop, then he will be able to damage it. The knight's hands glow a deep purple now, as more energy began to assault the Devastator's shields, attempting to crush the shields and engulf the machine itself with the darkness....

Taking the offered hand, Lydia set her empty glass on the bar and got to her feet. She felt as if everything she'd ever known had been flipped on its head. Sam had gone and told Atlas everything; she'd trusted him. Trust. It clicked. That was it. She'd put her complete and utter trust in a person and they'd betrayed her...who was to say trusting Atlas wouldn't put her in the same position? oh, she'd work with him...but trust? Never, she vowed to herself. Never.

As the pressure increased, the shielding system responded in a surprisingly aggressive manner, suddenly widening and pushing the dark energy back. Selk raised his arm and prepared to fire the pulse cannon, timing the weapon's shot just as the shields vanished, sending a pulse shot at Mortum. The attack was hastily aimed, but it served its purpose, exploding as it hit the ground in front of Mortum, engulfing him in the cloud of heat and sending him flying yet again, stopping the dark energy before it got too close...

"I see" Galaak said, mentally noting the capabilities and short comings of Kala's suit. In order for the two to be effective fighting, they would have to be aware of the strengths and weaknesses of each other as much as their enemies. The explorer dropped down into an alleyway after climbing down a fire escape and then ran through the brick passage back to the sidewalk. His suit had picked up on an energy spike in the vicinity, meaning the situation was becoming much more unpredictable. Galaak crouched down at the corner of the building and peeked out. He was several feet behind the Devastator, off to its left side...

The heat of the blast did more damage to Motum than the explosion itself, heating his armor up and burning his skin beneath for a few moments. Stumbling backwards and growling in pain, Mortum dashed to the left side of the devastator, focusing all the dark energy on the mech's left arm and attempts to rend it away from its body....

"Oh no you don't..." Selk growled, firing his chaingun at Mortum to throw his aim off and try to penetrate his armor...

From above Galaak, a shape suddenly dropped down from its perch where it had been clamped to the side of a nearby building. The Cephian Trooper gave the Ascatian no time to react before slamming full force into his back with two of its segmented, armored tendrils. Knocking him o the ground, the drone let out a metallic screech and pounced at the downed excursion, intending to skewer him with its four tentacle-tips...

Mortum cut off his attack as Selk fired his gun, and began to draw numerous objects in front of him to block the incoming barrage. The machine wasn't letting up..... but if he continued his tactics, he should be able to either drive it away or wear down its shields....

Picking up on the drone's energy emission in advance of the attack, Galaak dove forwards into a roll, ending crouched on his feet with his rifle aimed at the machine when it hit the ground. Unseen and undetected, E-doch swung over the building, getting into firing position.
