Galaak's footsteps receded into a trailing echo as he sped after Kala out the door and into the hallway. "You will be pleased to know that this ship is lacking its main engines." He said to the Cephian as he came up beside him.

"That's all well and good, but that doesn't mean it's grounded for good," Kala, moving effortlessly thanks to the mechanical legs providing all his propulsion. "Not that it matters. This ship isn't going anywhere if Zakai's all the way in the hangar. Of course, it's definitely a trap, but that didn't stop YOU," he added with a chuckle. "Thanks, by the way."

The being was placed into a squad car, which quickly departed to take the man back to the station, escorted by two other police cars. With what they just saw, they weren't taking any chances.

The others who stuck around began to search the area for any wounded civilians caught in the disaster...

"I brought it up because I wanted to know more about this ship's capabilities. Interior defenses, back up systems and the likes. I already know its capable of generating EMP pulses. Our robotic friend experienced one first hand" responded Galaak as he rounded about a corner

"This is a Cephian Corvette," Kala explained calmly. "Tough and well-armed, but only for single-ship engagements. It's meant for scouting sorties or, as you've seen, hunting parties. Still, it's about as well-equipped as you'd expect for a military vessel. Automated systems everywhere. Still, if Zakai wanted us dead quickly, he would've vaporized us by now. We'll see what he wants when we find him..."

"And we've yet to see a Pinger. Lovely" Said Galaak flatly. He wouldn't be surprised if that was what they would behold in the hanger bay...

Kala sighed. "Did you really have to say that out loud?" he asked, heading for the final door leading into the hangar. He instantly stopped in his tracks when the door opened, however.

The hangar bay was rather small, not meant to contain very many single ships. In fact, the only ship in the hangar was the Scout ship, dangling from a magnetic holder in the ceiling about 12 meters above them. The bay, around 70 feet long, seemed to be more of a cargo compartment than anything, holding a number of the Cephian drop pods that had been used to drop off the Trooper and Selk earlier that evening. However, Kala's visor was fixed on the construct that dominated the center of the hangar: a 20-foot-tall walker with three segmented legs ending in powerful, clawed feet. A massive, triangular block of a head sat atop the armature, equipped with several small red lights and a glowing red cylinder behind and underneath the flaring "crest," as well as a chin-mounted weapons system of some kind. As the mech's head spun on its axis to face Kala, a high-pitched something could be heard emanating from the machine, a noise that could cause at least slight discomfort to most creatures except other Cephians. Zakai's voice crackled from the mech's form: "Finally. I was getting bored waiting for you stumble across this place. I almost expected you to get lost..."

Kala said nothing, except turning to Galaak and hissing, "No offense, but I blame you for the Pinger..."

The explorer came to a halt just a few feet to Kala's side and tensed up at the sudden piercing sound. "Do we have time for such petty things?" Galaak said after adjusting the sound filter on his suit, blocking the assaulting frequency that the walker was broadcasting. Before the fighting had even began, the Ascatian was sending a command to E-doch, typing in the order to deploy the now repaired drone...

Mortum continued along into the car.

"I will comply. Feel free to say to me what you feel is necessary."

Aya, along with some of the rookies, began to help the other officers search for survivors. The rookies were gossipping amongst themselves, wondering what was going on and what had happened. In fact, one Rookie said aloud, "Anybody know what the hell happened here?"

Aya was thinking the same thing. This was no ordinary incident. And that being who they took away... he fit the description of someone... she just couldn't put her finger on what the name was...

Suddenly, she heard a cry for help under some rubble. "Guys! Over here! I found someone!" Aya shouted as she began to lift the stones...

"Let's argue about it later," Kala replied. "Let's split up. Head to the right, I'm going to the left as soon as he opens fire. I have an idea." Zakai began charging up the chaingun weapon on the Pinger's nose, chuckling. "Now now, why move? It'll be so much easier for all of us if you just stand... STILL!" At that, Zakai opened fire, the piercing noise growing in intensity as the weapon spat out a stream of deadly energy that could turn even Kala to swiss cheese with enough concentrated fire. Kala dove to the left, rolled, and sprinted around the corridor, not bothering to cloak. Pingers used an echolocation module to detect movement around them, rendering cloaking useless, and they had a powerful EMP device that would knock him out of business pretty quickly...

It wasn't long before Galaak found himself taking cover behind one of the drop pods after a dash to the right. "I think its time we used our private communications, Kala. We don't want to let him know what we're going to do before we do it" He said, tapping into the droid's visual feed. It was cloaked once again and was speeding silently through the reddened corridors of the warship, following an energy map that E-doch had created. The walls of the ship were transparent and dark in this digital map with the various electronics integrated into them shining bright white depending on the level of their readings. The droid was seeking out parts of the craft that held a console that it could tap into, not to upload the virus, but for something else entirely...

A while later saw Atlas paying the bill for the meal as he rose to his feet. "It's been a pleasure talking to you, Lydia. Can I expect to meet you and Sam tomorrow morning...say....8 AM?" said the man as he rolled his shoulders, straightening his jacket...

Lydia nodded, getting up as well. "yes. We'll both be there." As she straightened her shirt, she looked up at him. "In the lobby, as agreed. However, I cannot guarantee one of us won't be paged - we do have jobs to do. Lives to save. All that jazz." She shrugged easily, acknowledging the irony of her last statement with a small, wry smile. While she was saving lives on the surface, underneath she was condemning other people to a horrible death.

In response, the officer in the passenger seat read the man's miranda rights, emphasizing the word "silent".

The officers rushed to help Aya, as one explained while moving bits of debris. "There were some kind of aircraft fighting overhead, I've never seen anything like it."

Mortum chuckled at the man emphasizing "silent", but nonetheless complied with what he wanted.

As she dug through the rubble, tossing aside stones, metal, and various other objects, Aya whispered to one of the cops next to her, "Did I hear correctly? An aircraft?"

"Good idea," Kala replied, jinking around drop pods and large crates to avoid gunfire. Zakai was focusing all his attention on the Cephian, the Pinger's triangular head spinning on its axis to track him. In order to keep Galaak occupied, Zakai hit a couple controls...

Some of the drop pods (specifically, around five near Galaak's position) abruptly shattered, revealing their contents: more Cephian Trooper drones. The machines turned on Galaak, waving their tentacles threateningly and making chittering hisses...

Galaak reached for his gun with one hand while simultaneously making a sweeping motion with the other, a thin mist forming around the troopers. Droplets of condensed water ran down their metal bodies but because of the chilled air, the amount of liquid wasn't substantial enough for a frozen finish to the drones. Galaak fired his gun at the nearest trooper, intending to demonstrate why the weapon was called an Arc Accentuator

The Troopers ignored the water, quite well-adapted to operating in a cold, wet environment. The lead one darted to the side to dodge the bolt that Galaak fired, then leaped forward at him, tentacles outstretched to impale him...

Galaak stepped out of the way of the trooper, firing another searing bolt of electricity at it upon its landing. The white and blue writhing beam of light and heat leaped off of its metal shell and into a nearby drone, and then to another and another until finally hitting the last seconds later. The water already present

The Troopers who were hit jerked spasmodically for a few moments, though they were not yet defeated. Two of them had escaped the arcing attack, and began charging their MOARs from a safe distance, while the remaining three turned to face Galaak at close range../
