Super Hero RPG: Chronicles of Los Diamantes

Where good and bad RPGs and E-wars go to die.

"Not all of them are like him" Galaak replied as his pupil-less eyes skimmed through the lines of symbols running across the monitor. Despite the many words produced on the subject, E-doch might as well have just spelled out "Dead end". These...super beings of sort could not be learned about through reading. Active study would be required, which meant combing the city and any nearby population centers in search of the anomalies. This was nothing strange to the Ascatian, and even though the task might seem daunting, he had explored and cataloged entire planets all on his lonesome over the years. It was that independence and self reliance that confounded him the most, however. What was he going to do about Kala, his first shipmate in a very long time?

Dr. Craven walked to the eye scan, then opened his right eye as wide as possible. A thin, green line flashed from the machine, and illuminated the eye. It moved up and down, then left to right, before dissapearing. "Welcome back, Dr. Craven.", a vaguely feminine voice crackled from the other side of the door, which let out steam, before it slowly opened up, a loud, groaning sound coming from the door's hinges. The man smirked, before he walked on in. 1 down, 2 more to go...

Tiffany gently grabbed the sleeping Minene's hand, before raising it up. Good... now she could see where the main blood vessels were. With perfect accuracy, she inserted the needle into the sleepnig girl's arm, then withdrew some blood from it. At the prick of th eneedle, Minene groaned, and slightly turned over, though not waking up. As quickly as she came, Tiffany withdrew the needle and left the room, closing the door behind her. Now that she was out, she looked into the needle at the blood she had gathered. It looked like normal human blood, atleast to her. But she would see just how normal this blood was...

"I'm guessing that means there might be more, though?" Kala asked. "Interesting. You don't this kind of intraspecies diversity very often..." he mused.

"Your organisation, if one could call it that, is going through hard times, if my information serves me correctly. My clients operate in a field that requires a special kind of merchandise. After a bit of investigation, We've found you would be equipped to supply us with that. For a respectable amount of income, of course" stated the tall man as he sat on one of the benches, legs crossed, his gaze scanning the surroundings...

Jackson rose an eyebrow at this. Strange this man knew so much about The Stalwart Crew, considering they're one of the smaller gangs in the city, but he guessed their cruelty must have caught his eye.

"Special merchandise, eh? Whatever you need, I'm sure we can supply it." The man paused, before talking in a low voice. "..... What kinda merchandise are we talking about here?"

"People, Mr. Jackson. I'm talking about people" said the man, his pupils seeming to lighten slightly for a split second as he spoke, Jackson's bodyguards' memories wiped for the next few seconds of the discussion, to insure they knew nothing of what was being discussed unless Jackson himself eventually decided to tell them...

Galaak grunted in agreement. "There are forces in this universe that are still barely understood, Kala. Just as they allow my race to extend our influence to the liquids of this realm, they may be having an effect on this planet. We could bear witness rapid to a evolution of an alien species...resulting in abilities unknown to them" The scientist said, thinking over the implications. If his hunch was correct, then somewhere on this planet there could be others who can manifest power on a whim... and this wasn't taking into consideration other means of change...

"That... sounds bad, actually," Kala replied after a moment of thoughtful silence. "Imagine someone like Zakai with the power to manipulate dark matter. What if one of these humans, one with... different morals from that armored one, acquires such an ability?"

"Conflict amongst themselves. Be it their armed forces or others 'enhanced' by this so-called force convergence" said the explorer objectively. As long as the threat could be well controlled by the humans, he would see no reason to interject in their efforts

"They may be powerful, but they are vastly outnumbered. For them to turn against the others who call this world home, they would have accept the fact that they would be the enemy of hundreds upon hundreds. Even if they are not alone in this goal, the opposition they will face would be more than overwhelming. You would not need to worry about being caught in another battle. Rather, I would be more focused on staying hidden. The last thing we need is for our actions to get recorded and broadcasted, practically calling out to anyone still tracking you down" Galaak said sitting back in his chair and resting his eyes

Jackson wasn't very phased. He's done worse things for free. "Uh-huh. People, you say?" Jackson feels a hot flash coming on, so he pops a couple of his pills before looking speaking again. "Two things: How much money are we talking about, and where am I to drop off the people? My guys aren't used to operating with hostages since... well, you've probably watched the news."

"What price would you place on them?" asked the man simply as he eyed Jackson...

The next bit of security Craven had put up was another large, steel-bolted door. This one, however, didn't have an eye scanner on it, but instead had a hand-sprint machien on it. All h had to do was put his hand on the scanner, and the machine would match up the fingerprints shown on it and open up. The doctor walked over to the door, then placed his hand on the scanner. After a 30-second wait, the machine beeped, and the door opened...

Jackson thought for a couple moments, then looked back into the man's eyes. He soon responded, "$15,000 each."

"I'm confident that we are unknown to the general public" Galaak said. "E-doch remained cloaked up until the scout came in range of its automated defense. Despite it firing, it seemed the humans were more concerned with the warship, and rightfully so" He added before returning his gaze to the screens. He left the subject of the human oddities for now, changing his study to more general aspects of the planet Earth itself...

"'Exotic' indeed," Sam said with a wry smile. "Shall I give you the grand tour?" Lydia, sensing she would need to, said, "I'll cover your shift until you're done showing him around, Sam." She turned to go, paused, and added with a significant look, "Do me a favor, will you, and make sure our strongest survived the night." With an incline of his head, he replied, "Of course my dear. it would be a shame to lose him after he's fought for so long, after all." Once she was gone, he added to Atlas, chuckling, "A pleasure to work with, that woman."

"Oh, I have no doubt. If my conversation with her last night was anything to go by, I'm fairly sure she'd be a blast to work with" said Atlas as he walked, chuckling. "So, tell me about the project" he inquired...

The dark skinned man eyed Jackson intensely for a moment, his expression blank and unreadable. "Were it one or two people, I would grant you that price. But unfortunately Mr. Jackson you do not see the gravity of the deal I'm offering you. You would be expected to supply us with eight a month. Two a week preferably. This deal has a potential to bring you wealth on par with the bank job you were planning, minus the heat of having the collective force of the LDPD and the FBI searching for you. But a price like that will lose you the deal. There are other candidates for this contract. Competitors of yours, in fact. Would you really be willing to risk them gaining strength when you yourself could gain it instead?"...
