"granted" said the man simply, as he stood up, adjusting his tie slightly as he eyed the criminal. "There is a warehouse down at the docks. Connected to Pier 12. Warehouse 15 will be the drop point. Your men will take them into the warehouse sedated, set them down and then leave. The cash will reach you as the transaction is done" he explained...

Strange shadows stretched out from behind the Ascatian, the bright flashes and sparks reflecting on the water as thin cut through the engine's outer shell, exposing the innards of the drive that enabled travel through the far expanse of space. The incision was incredibly small, but would serve its great purpose. One mechanical limb pressed its tip into the cut, the nanobots being deployed by thousands every second. The containers that kept the automatic repair kit contained a supply of basic matter-convert material. The nanobots that did micro repairs on E-doch used the cruiser's stock of the building material, changing its molecular properties in order to satisfy a need, from replacing a bit of damaged hull to creating a wire to fix a lapse in a relay.

With the engine being mended by the automated kits, Galaak's attention was on drawing out the water still in the ship, the level rising somewhat around his legs...

Jackson nodded, showing he understood. "A pleasure doing buisness with you. you won't reget your decision," he said, trying to sound as pleasant as possible. He soon got up and snapped his fingers, his two lackeys following him shortly after...

"I have no doubt about that. But remember Mr. Jackson. If you want us to uphold our end of the deal, you'll have to do the same. None of your competitors are earning such an amount of wealth so swiftly from one source. The closest competitors are drug dealers, and with the LDPD and DEA enforcing the law here strictly, it's more of a liability to them than an advantage. So rest assured Mr. Jackson, as long as you cooperate with us, you stand to benefit" said the man as he began to walk away. Everyone within hearing distance aside from Jackson himself, would have no memory of the conversation ever occurring, the man having made sure to keep the trail cold...

"We're at a bit of a standstill," Sam admitted, lowering his voice, as he headed toward the basement. "We've made some progress with our survivors - but not enough. Honestly, they're dying as quickly as we can replace them. Something in the solution we give them destroys their bodies from the inside out - and the faster they mutate, the faster the degeneration. We haven't managed to isolate it yet."

Tiffany whirled around, before she grabbed the paper as it was being printed out. She looked closely at the information that was on it. TO the untrained eye, all that was on there was random numbers and symbols, but to a trained scientist like Tiffany, these numbers represented a plethora of information, and the information that was recorded was most definitely intresting. As she had expected, Minene's signature was slightly diffrent than that of a normal human. The energy that she had, while not too bizzare, was definitely something generated from the molecular level. In other words, her powers were something that she had since birth. "Amazing... never have I seen such a pattern before." Tiffany muttered as all this sank in. No doubt Minene's powers had been dormant until that one day... It was absolutely incredible. Should she send this information in to the scientific community, she'd be downright famous. She'd be credited with the discovery of a mutant, something long dismissed as nothing more than witchcraft and fantasy. But, at the same time...

Tiffany sighed as she put away the paper. No. She wouldn't reveal this just yet. If the scientific community heard about this, no doubt Minene would be autopsied to see just how she worked. They'd probe the insides of her to extract her blood to create a drug that prevented aging or something. Besides, Tiffany still wanted to use her as a test subject... she still had a few inventions that needed testing...

Atlas smirked. he had a hunch, but he'd have to see it for himself. "What species have you tried so far?" he asked quietly as he walked alongside his old colleague for the first time in nearly 5 years...

Sam began listing them off quietly as he opened a heavy door and motioned Atlas through. Beyond the door was a steep staircase that led to the basement. "We've tried bat, fox, a few other types of canine, some feline, and one or two reptiles. The only ones so far that have held for any significant amount of time were the bat, komodo dragon, a few big cats, and wolf." He grimaced. "The others led to swift but clearly agonizing deaths."

The boy was shaking, yet he kept his balance as he rummaged through an old box in his basement. The room was lit by a bright lamp that bestowed its light to every corner. Only the lines of boxes and his father's weekend workshop were obstacles to the illumination. Most of his mother's things were kept down here, mementos he and his father kept. Kevin didn't like looking at them though. Instead of helping him remember his mother, they made him miss her even more, so he avoided going through the basement chests. Things were different now, however. He was feeling another surplus building within him, and he needed to burn it off as quickly as possible. That meant he needed to move- running, jumping, whatever workout he had to do to feel normal again. At the same time, he did not want another instance where someone approached him after his mad dash. His appearance was already known by the man in the suit, so he needed a disguise to prevent that from happening again. In his short time of planning, Kevin decided an old costume he wore to a party would do it.

He pulled out the suit, the shirt and pants folded up. The ensemble was white with black bands around the arms and around the waist. In addition, it was also form fitting. Kevin originally wanted it to be plain black, as he wanted to be a ninja for the costume party, but the store only had white so he made it work. He also got a cloth-like mask to go with it that had elongated holes for his eyes. His mother thought the costume looked silly and needed more color, so she added a purplish film to the mask that still let Kevin see through. Whether or not it made the costume more silly and less ninja-like was an issue left for that time. For now, it meant he would be completely unrecognizable with it on.

Not too long later, Kevin had the costume on and strapped on his blue and black running sneakers. He sneaked out of the house through the backdoor, not wanting his neighbors to see him leaving the house with his get-up and hopped the yard fence, cutting through the backyards of the adjacent houses...

Atlas thought it through as he took off his jacket, putting on his lab coat as he folded the suit jacket over his left arm. "Good move with the bat. They're highly compatible creatures generally. The Komodo Dragon is an interesting one though. Wolf, big cats....predictable. Have you tried boars?" he asked as he walked down the stairs...

Jake jolted up, it took him a moment to realize where he was. Sunlight poured into the room from the open window, it was very clearly morning. Jake rubbed his eyes as he thought back to the last day which was spent mostly sleeping. He'd been having nightmares, strange and horrible nightmares. The kind that leave you wondering whether or not it was real when you wake up. He jumped out of bed, determined to accomplish more than he did the previous day. He was going to go apply for a job... somewhere. He walked over to the kitchen, opening the fridge and seeing the freshly stocked food. Charles had been here, he reached for an apple and a soda pop. Not the best morning food but it was all he could bring himself to eat.
After finishing his tiny meal Jake put on his hat and left the house. the area around his house was mostly gravel and sand, the asphalt was going to be paved until Gerald decided it wasn't necessary. Jake looked to a car sitting by the corner of the house. It had been untouched for years, though it probably still ran Jake decided he'd just walk. He turned around the corner of the house and climbed up a small beach sand hill, at the top there was a small grass field, across that, the city.
Well James Bond Chinchilla and Monsta Pacman gets old after a year or so of absence. >_> Methinks I'll leave this blank until I come up with something to put here.

"Not yet. That was our next step actually," Sam said, allowing the door to shut behind them. "If the bat subject pulled through, we were going to take note of the mutations he went through and start smoothing those out; then start working at chimps and pigs, find out what the differences were." He shook his head. "Frankly though, we're not sure he will make it."

"I think I may have a few ideas as to why you're having trouble. I'll have to see them for myself first though" said Atlas as he headed forward. "What do you do with the patients after you've completed the procedure?" he inquired as they descended, assembling a mental checklist of actions that could help the process...

"We have to keep them separate from one another, in case they suddenly turn violent, as has happened a few times," he began. "We make sure they have what they need; food and treated water are delivered to each of them several times a day, though many of them never eat; we've provided each a bed and bathroom facilities..." Sam pulled on his own lab coat and opened another door at the bottom of the staircase. "We try to keep them as comfortable as we can. Unfortunately, we found we can't give them morphine or anything else for the pain...they have to try and ride it out themselves."

"Interesting. What kind of problems has Morphine caused?" asked Atlas as he walked through the door, trying to pinpoint the problem in order to find a solution...

"It's almost like it starts a three-way fight in the person's body," Sam said, leading Atlas across the room, nodding greetings at a few people who looked up at him. Some looked surprised, others politely puzzled; one or two almost looked as if they were going to protest at him bringing a newcomer here. "And between fighting off or trying to adapt to the new genes, and the morphine trying to numb them, they almost go into shock. They just shut down." He shook his head. "It's too much for them."

"It would make sense. Once the genetic structure of the subject is being forcefully changed the morphine can prove to be chemically toxic to the newly formed cells. sparks a reaction that eventually kills the patient" said the man calmly, giving a polite nod to the people eyeing him but otherwise paying them no regard, completely occupied by the matter at hand. "What else have you tried?" he asked...

"We tried putting one woman into an artificial coma, so she wouldn't feel the pain," the blonde man said, putting his hand in his pocket and fishing out a key. Inserting it into the lock on the door that led to where the test subjects were kept, he went on, "The degeneration went along at the same pace though, no matter how we tried to slow it. She was just about the only one that died peacefully." Unlocking the door, he paused before opening it. "You may want to cover your ears at first. You learn not to notice the screaming after a while, but it's only fair that I warn you."

Atlas nodded at the explanation. his guess was correct. "I've had my fair share of screaming patients, Sam. I can manage" he said, waiting for the man to open the door to allow them entry, the man silently considering if he'd be able to find a place to set his briefcase inside to free his hands for note making...
