"You are part of something great, Dean. When this is over, we will be able to destroy the worst illnesses known to mankind...who knows, perhaps even ALL of them...People will be capable of powers we could only dream of in the past. And you, my friend....will be at the centre of it all. You don't understand it now...but you will...in time. For now though, rest. Fighting it will simply put you through more pain than necessary. You haven't far to go now...Soon, it'll be over" said Atlas as he looked back at the weakened man, his face a mask, feigning sympathy. Making patients feel he cared always helped achieve results, so if a little bit of acting was necessary to win over a test subject's mind, then he would act. And with the pain the patients were usually going through, their minds would be begging, praying, hoping that someone at least felt for them, that pitied them, and wanted to help. They'd fall for the façade hook, line and sinker...all the better for him...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"

Dean gave a dry rasp that may have been a chuckle or may have been a murmur of relief, then closed his eyes and sank into unconsciousness. Sam watched, wishing they could do more for the weakened man, knowing that he would have to fight it out himself.

A geyser suddenly shot out of the cockpit of the shuttle, arcing through the air and splashing into the lake, gallons of water expunged from the ship in seconds. It took a while for the Ascatian to draw every ounce of water from the recesses of the craft, but now it was as good as dry. The repairs on the engine were also going well, with a large breach being sealed and welded and the couplings being set right again....

The beaches of Los Diamantes, stretches of smooth, white sand that practically gave the city its name. The diamond like texture was world renown and tourists and locals alike laid out underneath the sun to enjoy the summer heat and the cool ocean. Adults laid underneath the shade of umbrellas while children frolicked. Volley ball nets were set up and spaced out several yards from each other with the competitors focused and determined, players diving while others leaped into the air to make sure the ball never hit their side of the barrier. It was the perfect, normal summer day at the coast, until sheets of the pale sand wafting in the distance caught the attention of the beach goers. The sight rendered the opposite teams of the volley ball games dumbfounded, balls striking the ground and bouncing away while the others congratulated their score before they too noticed it. Split seconds later, the blur hurtled past, a powerful wind being left in the wake of the streak, kicking up the sand for another length of the beach...

Kala jumped back, startled out of his reverie by the sudden geyser of water. Turning to the shuttle, he shouted down the corridor inside, "Mind watching where you're pointing that stuff? High-pressure water streams aren't exactly fun to deal with!"

"No need to raise your voice" Galaak said over his communicator, chuckling. He was crouched down in the cramped hallway, monitoring the rest of the engine's progress while he attempted to gain access to the ship's interface through the automated kits. It would make assessing the craft's needs that much more easier if he could test its systems for functionality

"We'll call it even," Kala replied, this time through the communicator properly...

Aya soon arrived at The Golden Donut and walked in through the door. It was a bit late for her to be eating something like this, but she didn't care. She just wanted to have something to eat.

"well, hello Aya," ryan says with a smile on his face.

"Good morning," aya replies dryly.

"Why the long face?" Ryan inquires.

"Long night... something happened involving a large explosion last night. There were many casualties and they got someone."

"Who'd they get?" ryan asks.

"I dunno.... but he seemed familiar..."

"What do you mean familiar?"

"The way he looked and dressed... I think I've seen him before, but I can't put the name."

"Well, whoever it is, he's certainly not going to be around for a while."

"We can hope..."

Aya soon got her usual, paid Ryan and sat down before enjoying her breakfast. Hopefully today wouldn't be too bad....

Jackson soon attended to poor sally. His pet rat seemed restless today; probably becuase she hadn't eaten yet. So Jackson gave her the usual- whatever the other thgus hadn't eaten- and let her chow down. He then went to go and do his work....

Mortum ran down the halls. He knew he wouldn't be able to get far without being spotted. The guards were hot on his tail, and he needed to get out of the jailhouse... but how?.....

"Hardly. If you couldn't stay clear of that water, then I might have to give your suit a tune up after I'm done here" said Galaak, his voice foreboding despite him joking.

Kevin came to a stop at the far end of the coast line, his feet on hard asphalt that designated a parking lot. He stamped his feet down to shed sand from his sneakers and then looked up at the descending cloud of sand. He couldn't help but laugh at the people taking cover, scrambling under umbrellas or just running until the pale grains settled again. "And to think this is the closest to snow this place will get!" the boy mused before shooting off again, exploring his new found power without care...

"I'll have you know I was focused on keeping watch for OUTSIDE threats," Kala replied matter-of-factly. "I didn't think I'd have to worry about water jets coming out of my own ship."

"You call yourself a soldier. Pfft" Galaak replied, gaining amusement through antagonizing the Cephian. When his sense of duty retired for a time, the Ascatian's casual nature revealed itself, though his time alone made it a rough personality to be around...

"If we want to be specific about titles, you are a bounty hunter, mercenary, soldier of fortune and now...clown" the Ascatian replied, laughing over the com-link to instigate more banter between him and Kala...

"It is to be expected since I've only just begun to study. Our previous business did not leave me much time to sample the language" Galaak said, just as the lights within the shuttle flickered to life, and a low hum permeated through the walls...

"I still want you to look up fish," Kala said. "I'd think you'd be surprised." As the interior of the shuttle lit up, Kala peeked inside curiously, scanning the walls. "I'm guessing you fixed the power core?"

"Just about, though I'm not yet certain the craft can fly for prolonged periods, or achieve spaceflight-" Galaak started to say before a projection was displayed from the wrist device, Cephian text and numerals rapidly changing form, replaced by the Ascatian syntax. "Ah, that's better" he muttered as he began to skim the information presented to him...

"I wasn't exactly planning on leaving any time soon, anyway," Kala replied. "At least, not until the business with Zakai's settled back at Cephia. Don't want to run into more bounty hunters looking for me."

"Naturally" Galaak said, closing the interface and getting to his feet as best as he could. Being nearly nine feet tall in a ship meant for something much smaller was far from comfortable. The droid on the other hand, seemed right at home navigating the tight space, wriggling its way past its Ascatian creator to retrieve the repair kits. Once the automated maintenance was removed from the engine core, Galaak left the cramped vessel with the droid in tow, the cockpit screen closing behind him. The screen fogged up seconds later as the ship's habitual homeostasis began to sterilize the once swamped craft...

"Gotta say, I'm glad you came when you did," Kala said as Galaak and his droid exited the shuttle. "I was starting to get worried that I wouldn't be able to find anything to repair the engine core in that human city. Not exactly the most advanced technology around here..."

Galaak began to laugh again. If it weren't for the communicator, his voice would have sounded even deeper muffled by the excursion suit. "Give your thanks to the others. They were not too subtle with a warship in this region of the galaxy" he said before ordering the robot to reenter E-doch, the droid stepping into the column of light and ascending into the crescent winged ship. The fog that covered the screen gradually dissipated after the shuttle's internal temperature dropped to suitable levels for its Cephian pilot.
