"No," the kit mewled, slowing down a bit and turning to look at Wraith. "But there's so much to see, and it's all so big!"

"You'll have plenty of time to see it all in time. For now let's just find your mother, shall we?" growled Wraith with a chuckle as he headed onwards...

In time, the two loners entered the camp through the passage of stone and past the curtain of lichen, seeing that the cats of Thunderclan were also getting ready to greet the day. Spotting Shadowstar across the way, Ferallion flicked his brother with his tail and then turned to look in her direction. "Sharp eyes as usual." Tiberium commented before starting to walk to the clan leader, the gray tom at his side.

It wasn't long before the suspected den of Tiger's mother came into view, a short fence in the distance marking the barrier between the land of the Clans, and the thunderpath that split them. "Does that look like home to you?" growled Wraith to the kit as he walked, nodding in the direction of the tree up ahead...

"I think so," the little kit mewled, lifting his nose to sniff for his mother's scent. "Mama? Maaaama?" he called, approaching cautiously. Inside the shallow den, an ear twitched and an eye opened to fix a grief-dulled stare toward the entrance. A faint spark of life entered the pale blue gaze. Was she hearing things?

Shadowstar turned her head as the loners approached and meowed a greeting. "So you're back," she mewed. "I was beginning to think you'd decided not to return." Her green gaze was curious rather than hostile.

"Leaving without a goodbye? That would be more insulting than it is rude, given your hospitality the other day." Tiberium said, sitting before the clan leader and bowing his head respectfully. His brother sat off to his side and also bowed his head. "However," Tiberium began to say afterwards, "We would like to talk to you about our previous arrangement, if now is a good time to do so..." The tip of his tail flicked from side to side when he started thinking about the images he had seen the night before...it was a wonder how he and his brother managed to get any rest from that sleep at all.

"Well then, we'd best go find out, no?" growled Wraith with a smile as he moved towards the den, cautious in case what awaited wasn't what they expected...

"Now's as good a time as any," Shadowstar meowed, flicking one ear. "Have you two changed your minds?" she asked, wrapping her black-striped tail over her paws.

"Maaaama!" Tiger called again, and this time a tabby-striped dark gray head lifted from the leaf litter. Raven's eyes widened a fraction, her expression torn between disbelief and joy that her son was alive and well, and alarm upon seeing the stranger with him. She struggled to her paws, well aware that she wasn't in top form and that she wouldn't win if a fight was started. In a voice roughened from her frantic calls the night before, she rasped, "Tiger?" The kit flung himself at her, purring too hard to speak and covering her face in licks.

"...Partially" Tiberium mewed after sharing looks with his brother. "While we don't want to be full time members of the clan, the threat of leaf-bare is too great. We do not want to keep trying our luck when the cold returns to the forest, you see..." he started to explain, trying to circumvent having to talk about the dream...

Wraith smiled as he sat, watching the kit and she-cat reunite in silence. He knew she would likely have something to say, be it good or bad, once she'd gotten over the fact her kit was now back...

Once Raven had finished greeting her son, she turned to the black tom, ears twitching somewhat nervously. "Who are you?" she asked, deciding to get right to the point. "He brought me back here, mama!" Tiger piped up, looking at her with such honest eyes that she found herself softening.

Shadowstar nodded, prompting him to go on with a twitch of one ear, her posture showing she was listening intently.

"My name is Wraith. Or Shadowsoul if you're the kind who prefers a Clan name to a roamer's. I, personally, do not" growled Wraith coolly, deciding to answer the questions as he was asked. No need to share information she didn't wish to know...

After a pause to gather his words, Tiberium went on to explain his offer. "So, in return for aid during those harsh moons, my brother and I would be glad to become allies of your clan. We would only stay with you for the duration of leaf-bare but would be available for all seasons for any task you might have for us."

"hmm.." Shadowstar cocked her head, considering the proposition. it was an intriguing offer, no doubt, and if it suited the loners better and could still potentially benefit ThunderClan, it seemed there were no downsides. After a few long moments of thought, the black and silver tabby nodded slowly. "An interesting offer," she meowed. "You've clearly given this quite a bit of thought...Let's give it a try, then."

Raven's eyes narrowed a fraction as the black tom mentioned the Clans. The scars from her last encounter with them seemed to twinge a bit as the memory was brought to the forefront of her mind. Struggling to push aside her immediate distrust, she gave a short nod and glanced at her son, playing happily in the leaf litter, oblivious to the adults' conversation. "Where did you find him?" she meowed, forcing herself to relax. This tom - Wraith, as he'd called himself - could've left Tiger to die. Instead it seemed he'd sheltered the kit for the night and brought him home. Clan blood or no...he seemed decent. At any rate, he hadn't attacked her yet...

"I heard him calling for help last night as the storm began to pick up" started Wraith as he eyed the female. "With the weather taking a turn for the worse and the fact neutral ground tends to have rogues roaming all over the place, I couldn't ignore something like that, so I went to investigate. After a short stretch of searching, I ran into little Tiger over there shaking like a leaf" he explained, nodding towards the youngster as he spoke. "The rain became heavy when I found him, so I brought him to the shelter of a tree not too far away and asked him about his home, to try and figure out where he had come from. Poor kit had lost his way. In any case, with the storm as it was I decided to wait till it had passed before risking a search for you and your den. And so, here we are" finished the black tom as he smiled...

Tiberium smiled broadly, chest puffed out triumphantly to mask his sigh of relief. So he didn't have to explain what was behind the sudden change of plan and that was just fine with him. It meant he and his brother would be on the way of forgetting the unsettling experience quicker. Ferallion was all too aware of his brother's tactics but didn't compromise his efforts to maintain his pride. It was one thing to admit he was scared, it was another to explain the reason why to a near complete stranger, even with Shadowstar's good nature. "If you ever need us we'll be close enough. If we can't be found, just tell a passerby you're looking for us. We'll turn up soon enough" the white tom mewed.

Raven nodded slowly, taking in the information. "Well...thank you," she meowed. "For bringing him back." Somehow that seemed inadequate, but she had nothing else to offer him. She hesitated before adding, "He's all I have...I don't know what I'd do without him."

Shadowstar dipped her striped head. "I'll keep that in mind," she meowed. Whatever their reasons for changing their minds, she wouldn't pry. "And should you need our help, you need only ask."

"Then its settled," Tiberium mewed with a nod. "We will see you again, whether as visitors or answering the call of the clan" he finished saying before turning back to the clan entrance. Ferallion dipped his head respectfully and followed, coming up to his side. "We'll turn up soon enough?" Ferallion commented with a chuckle. "What do you consider 'soon enough', Tiberium?"
"Like we've said. Word travels fast in the forest; between loners and rogues alike" the white tom mewed as he entered the gorse tunnel.

"I understand the feeling. My brother means as much to me, as stubborn as he is. I'm glad I could help" growled Wraith with a smile as he turned, heading back towards the place he and his brother had learned to call home, knowing he'd likely be in for another distressed rant for disappearing in the middle of the night...

Raven watched the tom go for a few moments before returning her attention to her son. Tiger was happily bouncing around as if nothing at all had happened. Kits, she thought, I wish I had his energy.

After the brothers' departure, Shadowstar decided that this was as good a time as any to go hunting. She got to her paws, glancing around for her sister. Surely Swanfeather would enjoy some time away from the Clan as well.
