A loud moan rung through the halls, as the sound of thumping were audible within the building. Fists pounded against the walls and some doors within the twisting an turning hallways of the compound, as one undead pounded through a door, soon stumbling towards the duo with blind passion. With a quick shot of his revolver, Damian put the undead down, the the soudns were soon becoming threateningly close to them.

"Then let's go. NOW!" Damian shouted, as he began to run for the exit...

A low hiss could be heard in the compound, a grim shape sliding the shadows amongst the horde. With vicious hunger, one zombie was suddenly pulled into the shadows... and disappeared from the ranks of its allies completely....

Rebin was quick to follow Damian, several undead also bursted through doors behind them. Rebin took aim and fired at the nearest one, the plasma bullet putting down the Undead, before firing at the others...

A tendril of the black slime reached out, colliding with and encasing Rebin's leg as he ran, tripping him up before coming loose, a small quantity of it remaining and beginning to hiss as it ate away at his armour. The zombie responsible was almost upon him, as another door was battered apart up ahead, three more of the walking corpses emerging through the doorway, the place rapidly becoming untraversable. Somewhere in the many corridors, a bark could be heard, the sound gurgling and rough like the zombies groaning, but having a strength they seemed to lack. It seemed humans weren't the only ones to fall to The Decay....

Jacob, meanwhile, was roaming. Exploring the area and getting the lay of the land was always a good thing in his book. It allowed him to get to grips with a potential battlefield, so that, should the event ever occur, he would be able to make full use of his surroundings. Rolling green hills decorated the landscape around the endless ocean of spires. The spires themselves were of various kinds, some being narrow, considerably tall pillars of stone, others vast, spectacularly tall mesas with tops easily several tens of feet across, some even larger. The narrower ones seemed to crawl with life, as if their very walls were alive and moving. others were occupied by larger creatures, some of them primate-like, others resembling birds. He had yet to encounter a creature that would be large enough to pose a threat to him or Kane, though he didn't put it past some of these creatures to have venomous barbs or other dangers. For now though, they posed no danger...

As the zombie immediately assaulting Rebin shwoed its face, it was unceremoniously had its head reduced to a blackish mist, its slime covered corpse soon slumping forwards onto the ground. Damian quickly helped Rebin up, kicking away the udnead's body, as he quickly reloaded his revolver. There was more of these things than he had anticipated, and it soudned like there were some hounds that had become infected by this alien substance as well.

"Open fire on them!" Damian said as he blasted one of the zombies in the doorway, its arm prepped to launch the essence as its torso was blasted open. "We don't want to get surrounded!"

Suddenly, long, shadowy tendril reached out from the shadows, grabbing one of the hounds, and pulling it into oblivion, the infected creature grargling in pain as its body was torn to shreds by the unseen menace...

Getting back up, Rebin unloaded the plasma gun on the zombies up ahead, the rounds of plasma tearing through them and melting away parts of the zombie and the parasitic slime on them. As for the slime on his leg, he was quick to scrape it off against the floor... He didn't want it eating away at his armor any further.

Just as Rebin and Damian reached the corner behind which the exit awaited, a wave of monstrous hounds, each easily the size of a leopard, charged out from beyond another corridor. Their hides seemed completely dissolved, with jagged ribs visible to the naked eye. as they closed in on the duo the slime pooled around the fronts of their bodies, convulsing and writhing as it completely covered them, forming a protective barrier impervious to their attacks. Tendrils of blackish sludge whipped and lashed at the surroundings, leaving hissing acid burns in the floors, walls and ceilings, massive molten patches left in their wake as they tore the hallway apart in their charge towards the team...

The soldier meanwhile charged down a hallway with Yukari in tow, weapon at the ready as he charged for a doorway onto a balcony on the second floor, hoping it hadn't been sealed off by debris. So far the sound he dreaded hearing remained silent. It was unusual. The beast had been leading the attack on them, yet now, went unheard, and to his knowledge, unseen...and it only served to frighten him further...

"You've gotta be ******* KIDDING me!" Damian said as he fired his revolver, his bullet seemingly doing little damage to wall of rampaging mutants. Sighing, Damian holstered his revovler, before he turned to run for the door.

"RETREAT!" Damian shouted, as he headed for the more open space of the outside world...

Rebin bolted for it, following Damian as he fired a plasma shot behind him at the hounds. Nazi zombies... and now Nazi zombie dogs... This was just going downhill horribly fast.

Yukari was right behind the young man, the fear the man had only serving to unnerve her... The only thing worse than knowing that the unseen foe was heading for you... was not knowing where the unseen foe was... At times like this, the silence was far worse than the noise and howls of the zombies...

Screeching bastardisations of barks sounded out through the halls behind the duo as the hounds closed in on them, leaping across the space of three running strides with each bound of their own, fangs bared as the hallway was torn apart around them, the slow, sluggish zombies only barely escaping the destruction, though a few unlucky ones were cleaved in two or trampled under the jagged, taloned feet of the hounds. Above, to a side of the facility, the Commander charged out of a doorway with Yukari in tow, seeing the beasts charge out after Rebin and Damian as he leapt off the balcony, landing in a crouch on the floor below as he tried to slow down the beasts, two panels emerging on either side of his weapon as a cluster of miniature missiles were unleashed upon the beasts, the blasts striking them in their mostly unprotected rear ends, where they had not been expecting an attack, the back ends of the beasts being blown apart, stopping their charge in their tracks. "TO ZE APC! QVICKLY!" yelled the man, an accent appearing for the first time in his speech with Yukari or the others...

Damian would have thanked him, but clearly, none of them had time for that. The moans of more zombies was audible from within the compound, and the hounds might not have been completely dead. Firing a quick grenade into the doorway they came from, Damian quickly sprinted back into the APC, soon reentering the door and awaiting the arrival of the others....

A low hiss was audible from within the building, belonging to neither man nor undead mutant. A shadowy form could been seen shuffling in the doorway, a blackened shroud gathering around it. Blackened tendrils slithered out from the doorway, shielding a hidden shape, before a greyish, humanoid hand emerged. Eldritch tendrils lashed about from where fingers should have been, a grim red eyes peered out from the mist.

Crom had followed them.

Rushing to get away from the building, Rebin dashed into the APC as well, wishing to get away from these zombies...

Yukari, following behild the man, dashed past him and ran right into the APC behind Rebin. That...was enough exploring on her own for one day...

Rushing after the trio, the Commander leapt into the vehicle, turning to face the beasts behind them as he opened fire on a few of the living corpses that were closer to the vehicle. "GO! NOW!" yelled the man as gunfire began to rattle across the vehicle's hull, one of the corpses revealed to be still in possession of its weapon; a Sub-machinegun of a similar design to the soldier's own assault rifle.

Damian quickly entered the pilot seat of the APC, and assumed direct control. The engines of the massive, armor plated machine revved to life, easily drowning out the other noises that had pervaded the senses of the explorers and german commander. The doors of the APC soon slammed shut, closing off entry into the vehicle to all on the outside. The APC soon sped off, running over a couple of the slime covered undead in the process, before it disappeared into the distance...

The undead who remained at the compound may had lost the humans and potential hosts for the eldritch objects that covered their own bodies, but the shadowy revenant had found the perfect place to feed until he could catch up to the humans. Shadowy tendrils reached out, yanking another udnead towards himself, before the slime covered creature disappeared into the shadows, never to emerge again....

There was a vast shadow that swept over the grassy ground where Jacob tread, a powerful wind blowing down thereafter. The mammoth of a Tigrex came down a few meters away from the cyborg with a quaking impact, its wings folding into its sides.

It whipped itself around, its bronze body decorated with blue scales, hints of green and was streaked with black and white. Its eyes were a piercing crimson which glimmered in a stretch of unbroken sunlight.

The beast growled deeply, batted its tail into the ground and threw its head into the air. It bellowed, causing the grass around him to dance from the expanding wall of sound...

Jacob turned to face the beast, smirking as he felt the familiar rush of adrenaline in his veins; one of the few things he truly lived for. "About time something interesting happened" he muttered as he drew his assault rifle...

In the distance, standing on a nearby cliff overlooking the burning base and the chaos that had been wreaked upon the place, a large humanoid creature watched silently, a single glowing yellow eye staring through the swirling black wisps that engulfed its form, burning like a miniature sun with an unfathomable hatred no mortal creature could hope to comprehend. The creature was easily 9 feet tall, and whenever the wisps came thin enough to reveal his form, uneven tinges of yellow and red could be seen glowing through seemingly rotting greyish brown flesh, hinting that more than simple blood ran through this beast's veins; perhaps even the blood of his foes, considering the much smaller human body parts that hung from the writhing black Eldritch slime that writhed across his gargantuan form. The beast watched on, a low, guttural growl coming from the abomination as he considered the outcome of the encounter...

With the APC now heading away from the wrecked Nazi Base, Rebin's eyes landed on Yukari, who was putting her guns away in the storage area. "Now that you are back here safe and sound, mind telling me and Damian why you decided to bolt off by yourself without telling any of us and head off into that zombie-infested warzone?" Rebin asked her, his voice stern and angry, yet with an almost unnoticable hint of care in it.

Yukari twisted around to face him. "Isn't it a scientist's intuition to go out and find out new things in the field? That facility looked like an ideal place one of the probes could have been at. Who knew what other secrets that place could have held? I knew the potential of danger there was heavy, and it was a risk I took. Besides, I went in there well after the violence of last night had ended, and I made sure to bring along weaponry, just in case. I took all the precautions needed to protect myself, and had I told either you or Damian, you would have prevented me from going down there and investigating. And look, we even got a new companion to be with us." She said, her answers not as clear and cohesive as she would have wanted them to be. Most likely, this was due to the zombie experience she had just been through...

"Vhile I am grateful that you vere around to free me from that place, your friend is right" said the man in as controlled and careful an English accent as he could manage, seeming normal, though earlier the stress had served to betray his German roots. "Ve had a warning signal on continuous loop broadcast on all the common radio frequencies, telling anyone within reach to stay as far away from that place as possible. Weitburg fortress is a tomb. Nothing but death awaits you there. Ve are fortunate that their leader vas not there at the time" said the soldier as he let his assault rifle hang from its strap across his shoulder...

The reptilian beast was in his prime, lean and muscular with the lust for his own challenge evident in his red eyes. He had started to circle around the smaller, strange creature of an unknown scent or appearance.

There have been many humanoids the Tigrex had spotted. Some of them he had devoured on occasions. But never before had it seen anything like the cyborg...

...and he intended to find out more through the screen of aggression.

Another intimidating roar to the heavens to show off his great strength, his exceptional power even without even rocking the ground with a charge.

His booming voice was able to do that all on its own.

the gaping mouth was an invitation for the cyborg, a burst of high speed assault rifle rounds being fired into the jaws of the beast as Jacob braced himself for what was to come...

Spurts of blood leaped out of the Tigrex's mouth, the creature letting out a hiss of pain and shutting its jaws, turnings its head around so that the thick scales at the back of its neck took the remainder of the gunfire.

Its pupils narrowed and the beastly young animal tore into a seemingly blind, raging charge at the cyborg...
