Bladetooth roared again, driving his point home: run away or die. The Rex snorted, glaring balefully at the Allosaurus with his good eye, making sure it didn't try to attack again while his back was turned...

"...Oh for ****'s sake." Aircrest deadpanned. His time with the elder -however brief as it was- was a time of learning. While the others were clueless, the green raptor knew Ripper's nature. Not understand, per say. But he knew of it; the way he remained in the shadows, biding his time -watching pieces falling into place. With Ripper, there was no such thing as coincidence. Every time he revealed himself, it was for a purpose. A part of a greater plan.

Aircrest knew Ripper intended for him to find Hellfire and meet Fatalis again. But for what purpose?

The Allosaur was quick to respond with a threatening screech, practically challenging the Rex to try and back up it's threat as it turned itself side on, giving it more flexibility in any attempted retaliation. It was not a young Allosaur, nor was it small. It was easily as large as most Tyrannosaurs, and far more mobile. If pushed, it would gut the Rex...

"Hm?" hissed Fatalis. "It seems there's a lot more to that Raptor than age" grunted Hellfire thoughtfully. "Aircrest, you know him best. What do you think all this means?" he hissed, cocking his head curiously...

"He wanted us to meet. That's all I can say." Aircrest responded with a hint of unease in his voice and expression. After eight years of absence, why did Ripper appear in his life again? And why was he grouped with Hellfire and Fatalis?

"Unless...unless he was counting on us going through that mutant den, Hellfire. If he was...then he wanted us to piss off those mutants." the raptor added, the gears turning in his head. It reminded him a lot of when he first found that lab out in the jungle. He remembered how the elder tested him then...and he had failed. Was this another test?

Bladetooth narrowed his eye, snarling lowly. The less time the Allosaurus wasted trying to intimidate him, the faster they could both end this irritating standoff, and they could go about their business...

The Allosaur snorted satisfactorily once it was obvious the Rex didn't want to risk attacking it. That was good enough for it. With that in mind, it turned away, continuing its departure...

"So he sent us in because he couldn't handle them himself? I dunno whether to be insulted or impressed" hissed Hellfire amusedly. "Psh. Coward. If I were in his place I'd've charged in and caused chaos. To hell with danger" snorted Fatalis, unimpressed...

Though his expression had darkened greatly, Aircrest snickered. A hissing, cold snicker; brought about by the irony of the situation and the naivety of his two companions.

"Ripper could have killed us all the moment he laid eyes on us -and that would have been long before we laid eyes on him. Mutants are no threat to him. Either they weren't worth his time, he wanted to kill us in a creative way or he was hoping Fatalis' Allosaur fun would have done us in. I'm not sure." the raptor explained...

"Or," hissed a voice on a rock perch 20 feet over the trio. "I wanted to gather you in one place, and these were just convenient ways to do so" concluded the rusty red and black Raptor, Hellfire's gaze snapping upwards almost too fast, neck muscles aching in protest. The sight of the Elder silenced him however, whatever words he had in mind instantly escaping, leaving him staring dimly. "Oh hey, he shows up, greeeeaaat. Now we get to see what it is you were talking about" snorted Fatalis...

Aircrest looked to the source of the voice at a more normal rate than his Deinonychus friend. Eight years had done nothing to make the raptor more susceptible to the surprise. Again, something he inadvertently had to thank the elder for. He bared his teeth slightly upon seeing Ripper and echoed Hellfire's earlier statement: "...Well hello to you too. I'm fine thanks. You?"

"Aww. So much hostility. I'm disappointed, Aircrest. One would think your educator would deserve a less...unsavoury response than that. Though, for the sake of decency, I am well. Thank you for asking" hissed the Elder with a smirk. "So what's with the secretive attitude? You have fun pointing others in random directions?" hissed Fatalis with a snort. "Unlike you, Fatalis, I prefer not to waste my time with such...trivial pastimes" responded Ripper as he leapt suddenly, hitting the ground faster than either Hellfire or Fatalis had expected him to, the latter hopping back as if expecting an attack. "Your reflexes are good, but unneeded here, Fatalis" hissed the Elder as he straightened...

Aircrest opted to disregard the rusty red raptor's earlier comments, instead jumping straight to the point of things. "So I see introductions aren't in order, so lets get right to it; why did you gather us here?" he growled, trying to keep as even tempered as he could around the elder...

"Straight to the point. You're learning" hissed Ripper, pleased. "I'm assuming at this point all three of you know about Thrasher. Correct?" he added. "Yeah, I know him. Loud, toothy, pain in the tail, has a penchant for munching on fish in his spare time? We've met" hissed Fatalis with a smirk. "I used to frequent his turf and the surrounding grounds. Plenty of food around if I'm in a lazy mood. Just need to wait for those gluttonous fish-eaters to finish" growled Hellfire, to which Ripper nodded. "Good. Then you also know that he has made the island more and more difficult to live on as his territory has expanded. The solution to that problem may be very close, but one or two alone are not enough" explained the Elder. "Wait wait wait...You want us to take down the island's most Dominant Predator?" growled Hellfire as he craned his neck, taken aback by the statement. "No. Crusher will tend to that himself, when the time is right. Your role will be to take care of....little jobs along the way. Distracting threats, taking out smaller predators under Thrasher's command, and so on" hissed Ripper calmly...

"And who is Crusher, if I may be so bold to ask?" Aircrest questioned with a growl, cocking his head as he said it...

Twincrest stopped. Yes, she could smell it... prey. Moving silently, the predator moved through the forest ever so slowly. A few hundred yards ahead of her in the dense underbrush was a Placerias, the mammal-like reptile digging up roots and ferns to feed itself. Twincrest had to be careful. Placerias may be slow, but their tusks could inflict grevious wounds, and a cornered Placerias was a dangerous one... she would have to kill it fast to avoid injury...

"The young Rex you met years ago. I'm surprised you forget so easily, all things considered" explained Ripper calmly. "A Rex? Well...that certainly livens things up a bit now, doesn't it?" hissed Hellfire interestedly. "Pfft, you kidding? Rexes have been out of the game for years. No way this one will make it" snorted Fatalis, a clawed hand striking him across the muzzle as an irritated hiss came from the Elder. "Your ignorance is almost painful to listen to" snarled Ripper, amber eyes locking on the black and grey Raptor as he bared his fangs back. "Do that again and you'll lose your hand, you fossil" hissed Fatalis threateningly, to which Ripper's anger faded, turning into a slight smirk. "I'd grow bored if you were my only opponent. Now, if you don't mind, I'll continue what I was telling your companions" growled the Elder. Fatalis hissed lowly, leaping as Ripper attempted to continue, only to be sidestepped and rammed side-on in the ribs, the Raptor dropping to the floor like a stone, wheezing from the blow, which Ripper had specifically aimed to wind his assailant...

Sighing, Ripper continued. "As I was saying, Crusher has slaughtered 4 Spinosaurs in the past week, and has shown no sign of slowing down. He is easily one of the most capable Rexes on the island, and of THEM, the youngest by far. He has both the speed and power advantage over most of the other rivals Thrasher currently faces. He also knows most of what there is to know about fighting Spinosaurids; an advantage most of his peers lack. But he STILL will not be able to succeed without help" hissed Ripper finally. Fatalis chuckled, coughing as he got to his feet. "Not bad...for a fossil" he growled with a smirk...

The green raptor winced slightly as the elder put Fatalis in his place. Such power behind the old raptor's attacks; and they weren't even meant to kill! "No way...that two bit mouth on legs is starting a fight with the ruler of the island? Alone, at that?" Aircrest replied in disbelief once he had gotten past the outburst. That was mad...asinine even. But then again, Crusher was the T-Rex that wished he never knew his family so that he could stop missing them.

"And at the rate he's going, succeeding at it as well" hissed Ripper as his gaze shifted to Aircrest. "Thrasher's no fool. I'm certain he's already working on a way to cripple Crusher before he takes him out. Which is why I'm...taking measures, to counter act that. You three are one such measure" concluded the Elder. "So what're we supposed to do? chew their ankles and steal their eggs?" snorted Fatalis. "When the time comes, you'll know. For now, your acquaintance to one another is sufficient" growled the rusty Elder as he turned away from them, heading towards what looked like a vertical cliff fact, leaping up a good 15 feet...

"And why must we risk our lives for a Rex we barely know -if we know him at all? Who is to say he won't end up being worse than Thrasher in the end?" Aircrest pressed. All his life, he had a resentment for the super predators on the island. Now Ripper expected him to go out of his way to help one?

"Crusher is all but kin to more than a couple of Raptors. His acquaintences span a variety of species. And, unlike many, he has seen what Thrasher's behaviour and those like him have done; his father was not much different, and it cost Crusher his entire family. He will not repeat that mistake and risk his future progeny suffering what he did. I believe you already know this, Aircrest" explained Ripper calmly. With that, he continued on his path, leaping from outcrop to outcrop, before leaping over the top of the rocky ridge, disappearing beyond, no sight, smell or sound remaining to suggest he had ever been there. "Wow...Loves to keep everyone guessing, eh?" snorted Fatalis amusedly as he licked a thin trickle of blood off the tip of his snout; the remains of the cut Ripper had left across his muzzle. "Eh. I've been short on distractions in the past couple of weeks anyway. Couldn't hurt to do something unusual for once" grunted Hellfire with a shrug...
