" You say that, yet when it comes to spying, there's few better within Thrasher's realm than me." Twincrest lied. "Eluding the detection of other larger predators is a specialty I enjoy quite abit. They rarely ever realize I'm there, though that may just be how dull and dim-witted they are."

"Large carnivores? Oh, of course, who CAN'T avoid them?" the voice hissed. "And yet, when it comes to those more on your level..." More chittering, but this time from behind Twincrest, and disturbingly close. "Not quite so successful, are you?"

"Hm" grunted the aged male as he strode towards the scene of the fight, gaze scanning Sarcus's injured form, and then Crusher's lack thereof. "I see we're late" he grunted as he eyed Crusher with a scrutinous gaze. "Ruvox, I presume?" growled Crusher with a raised brow. "Ah. You've been told. Good. Never was good with introductions. Tell me, what happened?" rumbled the older Rex. His hide was dark green, much like Morphena, though where her underside was silver-tinted, Ruvox's underside was pitch, lustrous black. His hide, despite the numerous battlescars, had a sheen to it that reminded Crusher of a large snake. As it turned out, he was blind in one eye, several claw-like slashes focused around the milky grey orb, the size of the slashes too large for any predator he knew, and looking very old, implying they were likely received when the older Tyrannosaur was still in his juvenile years. The remaining eye was a rich amber; likely the source of Morphena's own rich amber gaze. "Ask Sarcus. He should be able to tell you everything" responded Crusher. Ruvox grunted at the response, his gaze falling to his injured son, who Morphena had moved to support, fangs bared in a snarl as she looked at where the Giga had run off to...

"Was hunting....Managed to find an injured Magnapaulia...broken leg...possibly sick too. Hunted it down, though it fell at an odd angle. Hurt my leg trying to regain my balance....Then the Giga showed up and started blaring on about how I was trespassing and how the kill was his. Before I could even respond he was all over me. Managed to scratch me up pretty good" explained Sarcus, chuckling at the end of it, cringing with a hiss. "Ow...Yeah, that cut in my side's probably pretty deep....Anyway...He lines up to continue the assault, not even caring that he got me away from the kill, then Crusher comes in. Dunno what you did to him yesterday, but it was enough to piss him off" he continued, eyeing Crusher, who simply licked the blood off his fangs. "Moron got in my way...Bad idea" growled the Rex. "Huh. There's an understatement" snorted Morphena amusedly. "But yeah. In short, Crusher here beat him within an inch of his life then told him to disappear or he'd finish the job" concluded Sarcus...

"Hm. Nicely done. I was growing tired of that Giga. You just saved me the trouble. Would've killed him if I were in your place though. Less chance of it coming back to haunt you later" growled Ruvox thoughtfully. "He was an idiot to threaten us. He'd be a dead idiot to return" growled Morphena firmly. "True. Still, I'm not getting any younger. Eventually someone will need to do the killing for me" grumbled the older male, Crusher chuckling. "If you're anything like Ripper, the age will only make you more dangerous" he snorted, Ruvox grunting amusedly. "True. Anyway, let's get to eating, hm?" growled the elder male as he led his son and daughter towards the kill. "I'll catch up with you later. I have to get something for my own family" growled Crusher. "Whatever for? There's plenty here" growled Ruvox. "I wouldn't-" started Crusher, before being cut off. "We insist" growled Morphena and Sarcus in unison, the timing uncanny. With a sigh, Crusher nodded. Taking in a deep breath, he let off a long, deep roar, the tone echoing for miles, easily reaching his family's ears, before making his way towards the large herbivore...

"Well, that's why I'm hired to deal with larger carnivores. For smaller stuff, no doubt Thrasher has more optimal spies for those jobs." Twincrest hissed getting a little irritated by how lnog this was going on. "Now if you excuse me, I have important information to give to Thrasher. He doesn't like having his reports come in late."

As the interaction ended, the muddy 'log' watching from the river sunk, disappearing once it was sure Thrasher's spy was not at risk of being killed...These Troodon were problematic....The topic would have to be brought up once the Dilophosaur reached her destination...

The Troodon remained nearby, watching Twincrest and following her silently, but they stayed out of sight, content to wait until the Dilophosaurus arrived at her destination...

Twincrest didn't care if the Troodons were following her. She kept moving forward, the forest slowly getting thinner, until it gave way. Before her was a large clearing, created by the constant movement of large herbivores. The river flowed through it and across the middle... To get to where Thrasher was, she had to cross the river. The Dilophosaurus looked around as she moved out into the open. A pair of Siamotyrannus were drinking downstream from where Twincrest was planning to cross, and further upstream at the edge of the clearing, a small group of Bactrosaurus relaxed in the river, their size a deterant to most normal river predators...

It was only a few moments until the two tired, drained looking Rexes arrived. They paused at the sight of Ruvox and his young feeding from the kill, cocking their heads at Crusher, to which he simply grunted. "Help yourselves. This is far too much for us anyway. Injured though he may have been, Sarcus here really outdid himself" growled Ruvox, to which Sarcus smirked. "Are you sure, Ruvox?" growled Zephora, to which the male snorted. "Positive! Stop being so confused and eat. You look starved" growled the bull Rex with a cheerful smirk amidst mouthfuls of meat, Zephora eyeing her son and daughter, before sighing and moving towards the kill, helping themselves to the food, the two females digging in hungrily as Crusher stood by, letting his family eat as he kept watch. Since the previous day, he had been paranoid about the risk of an attack by Thrasher; he had come too far to let things go wrong now...And from the glances Ruvox was giving him, he seemed to understand perfectly...

As Twincrest reached the river, the top of Rake's head emerged from below the surface, looking, for all intents and purposes, like a crocodile. "You'd better hope there's more to your information than what you told the Troodon...Thrasher will not be pleased if there isn't" hissed the Irritator lowly from the water, keeping low as to avoid being detected by any other than the Dilophosaur. There was very good reason the other river predators were absent; an Irritator of this size in a river where Deinosuchus and Sarcosuchus were absent, made it the apex predator of the area...

The Troodon did not move out into the open. They were content with going around the clearing instead. It would be faster without having to worry about getting around a bunch of jumpy herbivores, or crossing a busy stretch of river. While they probably wouldn't be able to intercept Twincrest (not that they needed to), they could still catch up with her...

Twincrest stopped, and looked down at Rake. His presence meant she was nearing Thrasher's territory. "Of course there is. Why would I tell them everything I gathered?" Twincrest hissed, also in a near silent voice only Rake could hear. "And trust me, what I have to tell Thrasher, he will definitly enjoy hearing."

Xanthe paused and cocked his head as a scent, faint but unmistakable and very welcome, reached him. He inhaled deeply to be sure it wasn't his mind playing tricks. Water - fresh and flowing, not stagnant. Probably just a small stream, but that was alright; where there was flowing water, there were healthy plants...which, hopefully, meant a somewhat decent meal. They'd covered quite a bit of distance already, and with what little there had been to eat last night, he was sure the youngsters were getting hungry. Xanthe hesitated, looked at the others, and growled, "Fancy trying our luck that way?" He gestured with his muzzle in the direction the barely-there breeze had carried the faint scent from.

Astus was nervous as he carefully guided Viridis between trees and around fallen, half-rotted logs. Siri could easily bring the rest of the split pack charging after them to take her daughter back, and he was sure she wouldn't think twice about killing him. The knowledge was like a kick in the gut, and not for the first time, he swallowed his bitter regrets. It was time to stop thinking of how she had been before Vertigo abandoned them, how the two of them had been before she met Inculta. The sound of Viridis's shallow, almost painful-sounding breaths and the sight of her thin flanks heaving as she struggled to keep going solidified his disgust for what Siri had become.
"I know I haven't always been good to you," Astus whispered to the starving young female, not knowing why he said it now, only knowing that he had to get it off his chest. "But I promise I'll take care of you."
"Astus," she rasped, surprising him, "where are we going?"
Having no better answer, he simply growled, "To find someone who can help you."
She was silent for a little while before she stopped, weakened body trembling. "I need to rest," she mumbled, sinking slowly to the ground. Astus nosed her, concerned, only to find his worst fears confirmed. He'd taken her away too late - she smelled of sickness. It would do her no good to keep walking like this. The pale male looked around anxiously, knowing he'd have to leave her to find someone who could help him, yet fearing he'd return to find she'd been taken by a bigger predator. He growled under his breath, torn but knowing he really had no choice. He'd just have to hope Viridis's mottled green coloring would conceal her well enough until he got back.
"Don't move. Don't make a sound," Astus growled to his niece, resting his muzzle on her head for just a moment, trying to hide the faint terror he felt at having to leave her. She seemed much warmer than could be normal - she needed water, that much he knew. "Wait here until I get back." He stood up, glanced around, sniffed a few times, and took off toward the faint smell of other, unfamiliar raptors.
He'd just have to hope they were in a helpful mood.

With a sigh, Berserker stalked through his territory. The Tyrannosaur was hungry, and lately he had been unable to find any suitable prey. He had found several Gallimimus, but they did little to ease his hunger. So now he was on the prowl, looking for any larger prey.

Berserker stepped over a rather small creek, lifting his head into the air as he sniffed around, trying to detect any potential food. Disappointed when he found none, Berserker continued forward, his taloned feet leaving prints in the foliage beneath him.

Styx soon made her way to the feeding ground, chuckling as she saw everyone digging in. "Starting without me? That isn't very nice" she growled. "First come, first serve, dear. Credit for the kill goes to Sarcus though. Not bad, all things considered, don't you think?" responded Ruvox with a proud smile. Styx smiled as she eyed her son, until the sight of his injuries caught her attention...

"What happened to you, Sarcus?" she growled, concerned. "That block-headed Giga attacked him after he brought down the kill. Didn't manage to get far before Crusher practically ate him alive" responded Morphena with a smirk, shooting a glance at the male, who tilted his head with a raised brow, amused at the wording of it all. "Bit of an overstatement, don't you think?" he growled. "Shhh. She's an expert at making others look good. Don't go gutting it on the spot" responded Sarcus in a forced whisper, easily audible by everyone, but getting the point across. "Right. Yeah, I'm amazing. Better?" he responded, whispering the last bit just as Sarcus had done. "Much" he growled, earning a round of laughter from everyone present...

"You did well, Crusher. Keep this up and perhaps I'll be able to convince Ruvox here to calm down about the idea of another male so near his turf" growled Styx with a smirk. "Yeah. Right. As if dad'd surrender his control so readily. As I remember it, Yesterday you were ready to run down and growl in his face for getting too close, hm dad, or are you forgetting?" growled Morphena with a chuckle. "Yes, but that was until he stuck his neck out for one of us. He's earned himself some slack. SOME" responded Ruvox with a chuckle. "Psst. He means he won't try and fight you off this time. I'd watch it next time though. You know. Oldies and their moods" growled Morphena quietly with a smirk, earning an unamused grunt and nudge from her father, which made most of those present chuckle at the reaction. Crusher smirked at the warning. "Noted" he growled, before taking a place at the kill, between Morphena and Zephora, Styx moving beside Ruvox, digging into the kill herself...

Aurora was quick to agree with Xanthe. For the last couple of hours, Blade had been nipping her ankles, constantly grumbling that he was hungry. She couldn't blame the youngster, as she felt much the same way, but it was still getting annoyance. "With a bit of luck, there'll be something to eat as well as drink" she growled, voicing what was likely on the two former alphas' minds, if only to silence the incessant nagging her son had been making, to let him know they WERE doing something about it. Sure enough, Blade stopped, settling into line behind his mother, listening intently to the adults' conversation, for once not even in the mood to play with the others...

"You'd better hope so. Last one to give Thrasher less information than he wanted ended up being fed to the crocodiles" growled the Irritator lowly. He knew it to be fact because he had been the one to give the order, on Thrasher's behalf. He knew for a fact there would be death today, if not, perhaps, in that form...

Twincrest sneered in response, her best take at pretending to not be afraid of that image. "Oh I doubt Thrasher will be finding himself short on information. I have exactly what he wants to hear, nothing more, nothing less, just the right amount." She boasted in a near silent voice.

Eventually the dust and the sands of Death Valley transitioned to dirt. Dry, crumbly dirt which got more moist and pleasant the further away the trio got from the badlands. Eventually short grass became long, reaching up to Aircrest's thighs. Large mossy rocks stood like monoliths in the stretch of long grass, giant boulders that were either rounded mounds or natural obelisks. Several meters ahead, wrapping around the hills was the treeline which led into the thicket of the jungle. Barring that, the plains stretched on for miles.

"How're you two holding up?" Aircrest growled to his comrades. It was easy getting into Death Valley, descending the craggy slope into the uneven maw of the canyon. It was another thing entirely to leave. Especially when racing the sun with insufficient rest...

"There is no such thing as too much information" hissed Rake lowly as he paced, the treeline rapidly enveloping them. Beyond the trees awaited the core of Thrasher's territory, the place where the bloody-eyed leviathan spent most of his day...at least, when not tormenting those sharing borders with himself or his allies...

"You really need to ask? We're all roamers here. Tougher than most other Raptors on the island. At least, I assume we are. Dunno about tall, dark and sleepy over here though" snorted Fatalis, earning a low growl from Hellfire. "If you're implying I can't match you step for step and claw for claw, you're sorely mistaken" responded the Deinonychus. "HA! That's a hot one. I'd like to see you tr-" retorted Fatalis, cut off as he found himself pinned to one of the boulders as they passed, Hellfire's larger size meaning there was no way out of it. "Challenge accepted, and surpassed. Now will you shut up? You're noisy and are going to give away our position to everything in our vicinity" growled Hellfire. "But that's the point! Challenge. Fun" retorted Fatalis. "No, you moron, it isn't. Didn't you hear what Ripper said? Our targets are Thrasher's allies. We're supposed to pester THEM, not every living thing within earshot of us" snarled Hellfire in response. "Fine, fine. Damn. He always this grumpy, Aircrest?" hissed Fatalis once Hellfire let him go...

"...I don't think any one of us can say they know each other well enough to judge, eh Fatalis?" Aircrest replied, indirectly saying that he didn't know. After all, he had only known the Deinonychus for a day! By extension, he knew Fatalis for a matter of literally hours, some of which gapped by a span of eight years! "He does have a point, though." the green raptor growled. "It's best that we don't make more enemies than necessary. It will be bad enough when Thrasher gets wind of us, we don't need randomers we pissed off tailing us too..."

"Yes, there is such a thing." Twincrest replied. "I doubt Thrasher would enjoy every little detail, and would only want the relevant, important information, and that is exactly what I have for him."
