"I don't see Dilophosaurs ruling the island. Do you?" hissed Rake bitterly as he stepped over the remains of a fallen tree. "Knowledge is power. When dealing with enemies, there is no such thing as too much. The more you know, the more you can use against them" growled the Irritator...

"Pah. Neither of you know how to have fun" grumbled Fatalis, falling silent shortly afterwards. It wasn't long however, before grassland turned into forest, and trees grew closer and closer together, until their branches interwove. That, it seemed, was all Fatalis needed, as almost immediately, his eyes shifted skyward, looking for the nearest tree that seemed suitable. Without another word, the Raptor leapt upwards, into the canopy, leaving Hellfire and Aircrest on their own, though careful attention would reveal he was still following, though avoiding detection...

"I thought we were making this trip for business, not for pleasure..." Aircrest growled softly, mostly to himself than anything else, really. With their entering of the forest the trio completed their first and albeit, most simple objective in their overall scheme. The only problem was, there was no other objective other than finding Crusher...and since he has started his little war, the Rex would have made himself scarce. Finding him will be...difficult to say the very least. So while escaping the blistering heat of Death Valley was a great start for the raptors...what they did now was completely up in the air...

"In that area, yes, you can never have too much information. But for someone like me whose only to deliver news as briefly and concisely as possible, it's not how much information is gathered, but how much is said when reporting. No need for miniscule and irrelevant tidbits. Just the meat that applies to what you want to you." Twincrest responded, being careful where she stepped... The last thing she needed was to trip and fall.

"I fear I must disagree with you, my venomous friend," the familiar voice of the Troodon hissed, this time from the trees rather than ground level. They had arrived at the opposite end of the clearing around the same time as Twincrest and Rake had entered the treeline, and had spent the rest of their time simply listening, until they had decided to speak up. "The more you know, the better chance that you will be prepared for any eventuality."

"I suggest you stop asserting your opinion where it is unwanted, Dilophosaur, or I assure you it will end badly for you. Thrasher will decide which information he deems valuable and which he doesn't, NOT you" hissed Rake dangerously, malevolent orange eyes glaring threateningly at the Dilophosaur, seeming every bit serious about his statement. "You sound familiar, Troodon. Would I be correct in guessing you are Nighteye?" he added as he focused his gaze on the Troodon...

Crusher, meanwhile, had broken off from his family and their friends, deciding to find the Giga's territory and claim it. Afterall, he didn't want to intrude on Ruvox's turf more than needed. Hospitality had it's limits, and he was certain that Ruvox's was not endless. He quickly found himself at the border between the Giga's turf, and the neutral Game Trail. Its position was convenient. It trapped the Game trail between three territories, all of them connected by alliances or blood ties. This in turn, meant that they could cooperate to capitalise of prey movements. When prey left the Game trail and entered another territory, the one present could chase them back into it, potentially maintaining a permanent supply of food for them. Or at least, until the herbivore's numbers or food supplies dwindled far enough that they no longer acted as a viable food source...

The green raptor's inner thoughts were interrupted by an unfamiliar odor. It was fusty and lingered on the surrounding vegetation. It was faint at first but as he moved on it started to become stronger and stronger until he was tempted to join Fatalis in the treetops. It was such a concentrated, unpleasant smell that he just had to investigate it.

"What do you think that is...?" he asked Hellfire as he got into a low, discrete stance, prowling through the underbrush, wary of what he may discover...or what would discover him.

Berserker paused momentarily, lifting his head up as he smelled the air. Yes, there was a scent. Faint, but it was there. Berserker growled, pleased with his success, before beginning to move towards the scent.

As he moved, Berserker kept sniffing for the scent, moving constantly in the direction the scent seemed to be coming from. The scent appeared to be from a theropod, though he could not yet tell what kind. It didn't matter, though. Berserker would still make a meal out of it. Berserker proceeded forward, coming into a small clearing as he sniffed around.

Twincrest hissed in annoyance, but otherwise said nothing. Now, she wasn't that much smaller than Rake, and wasn't at all taken by his threats... it was the fact that Rake was close to Thrasher. Having a giant 60+ foot spinosaurus breathing down her neck wasn't her idea of fun... and she didn't want to have everyone under his influence after her if she felt like killing this crippled old Irritator... So she complied.

The Troodon's head slowly, cautiously, emerged from the foliage above. It was a force of habit to move with such slow purpose, but it served his needs well. "Ah, so someone has heard of me," he hissed, giving Rake a curious stare. "I am either getting rusty, or my actions have gained some form of repute. I suppose I cannot complain." The Troodon's long head cocked to the side as a small chorus of chitters followed in the wake of his sentence. He wasn't alone, that much was obvious. "Forgive me if I do not recognize you, friend. Thrasher has many allies; it is hard to keep track of them all," Nighteye said to the Irritator, before his dark gaze turned to Twincrest. "Especially when he begins recruiting more into his ranks..."

"I make it my business to know as much about the island and its inhabitants as is possible. You aren't getting any worse at keeping your actions quiet. I am simply very good at what I do" hissed the Irritator lowly...

Hellfire's lip curled as the smell grew stronger and more pungent. "Something long-dead" hissed the Deinonychus. Fatalis meanwhile, watched from the canopy, desperately snickering out of amusement. This was gonna be a blast...

Sure enough, as Hellfire pushed forward to push aside the foliage and see the source, there stood a lone triceratops, standing over a corpse. It was far too late that Hellfire realised this was no normal triceratops. The short scute-like points on the brim of its crest had grown into horrifyingly long, jagged horns, almost all of which seemed soaked in blood. It's brow horns curved downward slightly, then upwards again, the slight curve in them positioning them perfectly for skewering whatever got in its way. It's beak was jagged, looking like an orange-tinted saw-blade, rather than smooth and curved, and its eyes shimmered a milky yellow white, seeming almost to glow in the low light of the thick brush. Its hide was rough and crocodilian, long quill-like spines rising from it's hind quarters, glistening with some deep green substance that seemed to amplify the rancid stench of the corpse before it, creating the odour that had led the duo to the creature. What horrified Hellfire the most, however was what the triceratops was doing there. It's jagged beak was buried in the corpse's flank, tearing away at flesh and gulping it down, irritated grunts and snorts coming from it as it tore into the kill, as though it were a predator. "What...in the..." muttered Hellfire, completely at a loss for words...

"I don't...even?" Aircrest murmured quietly, mind reeling. He was looking at the definition of wrong. He thought he had seen that in the underground facility, but he was wrong. This Triceratops -if one could still call it that- defied reason and the natural order of things. Its hide -which should have been dark and dull like the others of its kind- was a blazing collection of color, most strikingly of which were golden stripes and red splotches.

"It's...one of them. One of those...supermutants..."

"Back away....slowly...if we're lucky it won't notice u-" hissed Hellfire as quietly as possible, before a particularly loud snort came from the beast and it lifted it's head from it's 'meal', glaring directly at them. "-uuooooooh CRAP! RUN!" barked Hellfire as the triceratops thrashed violently, sending the corpse of what turned out being a younger triceratops flying into a nearby tree, shaking the entire thing as a series of cracks and snaps announced that the corpse's bones had been smashed to pieces, the triceratops charging right at the duo, Hellfire scrambling for footing and bolting away from it, as meanwhile, Fatalis stood in the treeline cackling with amusement...

The Troodon did not respond at first, his gaze still locked on Twincrest. As if a switch had been flipped, Nighteye's head abruptly turned to face Rake after several moments, and he hissed, "Yes, well, I guess we are both good at what we do then, hm?" He carefully stepped out onto the thick branch that supported him, exposing more of his body. The Troodon's eyes reflexively narrowed as dappled sunlight washed over his scaly head. "Thrasher knows how to pick his allies, I suppose..."

Aircrest kicked off from the ground, springing out of his crouch on a whim and soaring high into the air. He hooked his hands onto a low lying tree branch as the Trike barreled off below and scraped away at the branch with his toes as he raised his legs up onto it. After a moment of difficulty, Aircrest stood up on the branch, wondering where Hellfire had gone to. His eyes darted across the forest floor in search of the heavily mutated Goliath...

"More than you know. Though there are exceptions" hissed Rake as his gaze shifted to the Dilophosaur for a moment, before reverting to the Troodon once more. "Forgive me for saying you may not find an alliance with Thrasher, however. It will depend on whether your entire pack can live up to your...performance" explained the Irritator. "Though I get the feeling you will get your chance to demonstrate soon enough" added Rake with an eerily wicked smirk...

"Crap crap crap crap CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!" screeched Hellfire in panic as he ran, the earth thundering under his feet as the Triceratops charged furiously in pursuit, milky creamy white eyes glaring brightly. Saplings, bushes and ferns were trampled or otherwise mangled in its wake as it raced after the Raptor with unnatural speed, Hellfire unable to launch himself into a tree with enough momentum to guarantee he would escape being trampled be the armoured goliath...

Aircrest bared his teeth, glaring furiously at the trail of destruction left by the supermutant. "Fatalis!" he snarled angrily to the other Velociraptor. "Quit laughing and help me with this!" With that, Aircrest dropped back to the ground, tearing off after the Triceratops...

Nighteye returned Rake's smile with one of his own, baring his serrated, venomous fangs. "I can assure you, that I would not be capable of what I am without my brethren." Another chittering chorus. "My pack is of the highest caliber. But, enough about us. Do continue on. I am very interested in what demonstration your master has in store..."

"You may well be asked to hunt down a...pest, that has been hindering us. It's occupation of an area on the edge of the border and it's illusiveness to our usual hunters has grown tiresome. Assuming you and your pack are as....capable as you say, I'm sure you will be able to succeed where they have failed" hissed Rake lowly as he stepped up onto a fallen tree, walking over it and continuing. "What you do with it will be your choice. Kill it, paralyse it, use it as food and warmth for your young; the specifics matter little to us, so long as at the end of the day, they no longer bother us" hissed the Irritator lowly...

"Why?! This is hysterical!" barked Fatalis between gasps of breath, cackling. However, he had not ignored the request, and was already in pursuit in the trees, albeit not going quite as fast as he could, his laughing dulling his focus on footing, the Raptor trying not to get himself killed for his entertainment...

Hellfire snarled as the triceratops gained ground rapidly, the Deinonychus stunned by the fact a herbivore could move so fast. This was ridiculous! In a last ditch effort to avoid being trampled, Hellfire leapt, launching himself sideways between a couple of trees and landing amidst some ferns and bushes, a furious bellow coming from the trike as it skidded to a halt a few feet away, before turning around, only to see Aircrest charging at it head on, the Ceratopsian snorting as it burst into another gallop right at him...

Aircrest swerved as he jumped, sending himself soaring again in a twirling fashion. He tucked his limbs into his body, narrowly avoiding the sharp extensions of the Trike which shot underneath him and then reached out again after he had cleared the mutant's frill, looking back at where he was standing just seconds before. He dug his claws into its thick hide and hunkered down when he landed on it, noticing that he had barely caused any bleeding! His claws, as sharp as they were, were simply anchored into the thing's scales! Refocusing to the more pressing issue, Aircrest scanned his environment as he was thrown about by the galloping herbivore, ready to seize his opportunity to disengage...

"A pest to Thrasher would be somewhat of a threat to us... smaller predators, would it not?" Nighteye chittered, following Rake from the treetops. He hopped nimbly from bough to bough, able to maintain the conversation even with the chaotic movement. The trees rustled as the Troodon's pack hurried to follow their leader. "Exactly what kind of 'pest' are we talking about, hm?"
