"Well Fatalis has his incentive for acting. What about you, Hellfire?" Aircrest joked, daring to smile a small smile. What they were planning to do was dangerous... hundreds of things could go wrong at any moment without rhyme or reason but still there was the one, undeniable reason to follow through. That reason was hope; the belief that their actions were for a greater purpose -a better future...

"I want Thrasher taken care of as much as anyone else. Would make moving around and finding food easier. And I wouldn't have to deal with overly smug Baryonyx and Irritators either. I'm in" hissed the Raptor. "Great. In that case, we have a plan. I have family here though. I need to make sure they're safe before I follow, so go on ahead. I'll head for Thrasher's territory and help with breaking down his defences as soon as I'm done" growled Crusher once he was certain of the plan and the Raptors' commitment to it...

"Alright then. There's just one last thing we need to take care of before we spring into action though," Aircrest said, nodding to Fatalis and Hellfire. "Let's go see how things are like on the great plains, shall we...?"

"Yes Thrasher." Twincrest said, before using the opportunity to leave as quickly as she could. That could have gone worse... ALOT worse. At the very least, she could do this menial task without failing... She only hoped that her return didn't end up with her gutted alive.

The Troodon made their way down from the trees, swiftly and silently dropping to the ground, one by one, until they had all gathered on the forest floor. A few chitters from Nighteye sent a small portion of the pack scuttling off into the jungle. They would keep their distance, to avoid too much attention and keep the group of predators small and discreet. However, a single alarm from one of their packmates, and they would be on the scene in minutes. Nighteye gave Twincrest a once-over, and smiled slyly. "Lead the way, my venom-spitting friend," he hissed...

As the group departed, Thrasher's eyes narrowed as a cold smirk curled onto his muzzle. Thought you could stay hidden from me, Crusher?....How fatally wrong you are thought the Spinosaur as he rose to his full height, dark green, mottled hide having all but concealed his full size in the loam of the forest. The vast, flexing sail on his back shifted tints, patterns of rich blood orange amidst black as he flexed his jaws, rolling his arms at the shoulders as a cacophony of cracks and snaps sounded out, the Spinosaur rippling his crocodilian tail, the armoured predator growling lowly as he loosened up. It was time he tended to the other...issues...that required his attention...

"Why? Hungry?" growled Crusher as he cocked his head, Fatalis licking his lips at the thought, while Hellfire debated the idea in his mind...

"I need to find another old friend that could help us out with this," Aircrest growled, gesturing with his snout to the mutant corpse. "I believe you know the extent of their... talent..."

Hellfire stared at Aircrest for a moment, before connecting the dots. "No....the Trike? Do you think it's close enough to Thrasher's territory for that? We're more than a day away from the island's centre, and we have no idea where the Trike might be" hissed the Deinonychus...

"Like I said before, last I've heard about its whereabouts was that it was terrorizing the plains. Let's go show Ripper he's not the only one on this island that can make... arrangements," Aircrest growled. He was cringing inwardly, terrified of the prospect of actively provoking the rampant Triceratops... but he would be a fool not to be, and a bigger fool to incite the rage of Thrasher without proper precautions. Even if those precautions were said rampant Trike...

"Yeah. Arrangements. Not suicide" hissed Hellfire. Fatalis laughed at the comment. "Hey, Helly, RELAX. If it bothers you, I'LL lead it. You can just follow from the forest. It'll never think to pursue you" barked the Raptor. "....Helly?" hissed the Deinonychus, cocking his head. "You're going after the Trike?" growled Crusher, stifling a chuckle, still remembering the incident 8 years prior...

"I'm working in a group going after the one herbivore on the island you don't want to cross at all. If I ever held any convictions before in my life, well I've thoroughly turned my back on them," Aircrest growled in response. Looking to the other raptors, he barked "Well, then, let's get a move on!"

Twincrest hissed in annoyance as she headed off to where she had last seen Crusher. Great. Now her job was being handed over to a bunch of primitive bird brains... She was going to hate this, but atleast she was going to get away from Thrasher... but the fact she had to return to him once this was over...

The Baryonyx hissed as it kicked out with its hind legs, the sharp claws slashing against Berserker's underside, spilling hot blood as they forced the rex back, allowing the Baryonyx to rise up, its own side bleeding from the bite. "So you have a bone to pick with us piscivores?" The Baryonyx gurgled, claws flexing. "Thrasher will no doubt enjoy hearing that I killed the rex that has been plaguing his borders!" It howled as it charged, the Baryonyx twisting its body to the side to prepare to smash it into Berserker...

Nighteye let slip a small smile as Twincrest turned away to lead them towards their objective. This was going to be interesting. With a quick chirp to his pack, they gathered up behind the Dilophosaur and followed as a single mass of scales, quills, and bulbous eyes...

Viridis wasn't sure how long she stayed where Astus had left her, teetering on the brink of consciousness. Her body was wracked with shivers, even though her throat felt as hot and dry as if she'd swallowed a mouthful of sand. Her stomach cramped and churned uneasily, unable to decide if it was demanding food or felt the urge to throw up what was in it - if there was even anything in there to throw up. She couldn't remember what she last ate, or the last time food tasted like anything other than wood. The thought of her parents crossed her mind, but she was too exhausted to feel anything but the dull ache of loss. They had as good as abandoned her long before Astus decided enough was enough. At one point she opened her eyes to see if he'd come back yet, but failing to spot him - or anything but compies, for that matter - she closed them again. Something nagging at the back of her mind kept her awake, though, something about the presence of compies...a thought she couldn't quite grasp long enough for it to fully form. It stayed with her, however, urgent enough to keep her from falling completely asleep...and she could hear the tiny creatures around her twitter and shift nervously every time she moved. They seemed to be getting closer, growing more bold as they sensed her weakness.
A low, familiar snarl jerked her awake again, just as she was dozing off. Astus chased the compies away from her with a vicious swipe of one hand, nearly eviscerating one of them with a glancing blow to its flank. It gave a squeal of pain and surprise as it was knocked sideways into two others, knocking them backwards. The pale raptor stood over Viridis protectively, baring his sharp teeth as he hissed, "You filthy lizards can't have her. She's not dead." Once he was sure they wouldn't come back, he killed the compy he'd wounded - no sense letting easy meat go to waste, when Viridis was too sick to hunt and a lone raptor's chances of making a decent kill were slim at best. As he dropped the corpse at her muzzle, Viridis finally captured her important but evasive thought; compies would attack a weakened animal if they could overpower it. After being bitten by them, the victim would simply fall asleep and not wake up again.
Something wet touched her face, and the mottled green female forced her eyes open enough to catch a glimpse of something that looked like moss. Soaking wet moss. The presence of the water made her remember her raging thirst, and she lifted her head to squeeze it out, sucking the liquid down greedily. Astus watched her closely, making sure she was alright. Following the scent of other raptors had proven useless; he had realized fairly quickly that the smell was stale. The pack, if there had been one close by, hadn't been around for several days. Perhaps hunger or thirst had killed them - perhaps they'd moved on. It didn't matter...but at least he'd found water. As he watched her start to nibble on the dead compy, Astus began to hope that maybe, somehow, everything would be alright.

Berserker was rammed hard, the Tyrannosaur staggering back before facing the Baryonyx with a snarl. "I don't know who this Thrasher is, but he'll die just like the rest if he decides to stick around in my territory!" Berserker then slammed his skull into the Baryonyx's own, dazing the Spinosaur as Berserker lunged forward to snap his jaws on the Baryonyx's neck...

The Baryonyx , dazed though he was, was atleast sensible enough to duck down, the Tyrannosaur's bite going over his head, and then thrusting upward, the sudden hit to the bottom jaw causing Berserker to stagger back, allowing the Bary to back up and refocus. "You know now of the ruler of the island?!" The Baryonyx snapped, amused by the apparent lack of intelligence from this Tyrannosaur. "Thrasher is the king of the island, the largest, strongest predator alive! He and he alone is worthy to do as he sees fit, All on this island know of him and tremble before his cruelty, and you, for picking on one under his protection, have signed your death warrant!" The Baryonyx roared as it charged at Berserker, claws splayed out and mouth wide agape...

Berserker snarled as he felt the Baryonyx's claws and teeth dig into his side, before with a roar he clamped his jaws around the Baryonyx's leg, causing the Spinosaur to roar out in pain as Berserker released his grip, blood trickling from the puncture wounds. "I will never back down to anything a Spinosaurus has to say!" Berserker roared, blood and saliva flying from his maw. "You fish-eaters should already know that it is the Tyrannosaurs that are king, and we don't fear any crocodile mimics such as yourself, or your Thrasher!" Berserker then charged right at the Baryonyx to trample him to the ground...

The Baryonyx howled as Bersekrer slammed into him, the tyrannosaur bowling him over. The Baryonyx hissed in pain as it rolled back up onto its legs. the predator stepping back. This rex was a reckless fighter and rash... As much as he would personally enjoy tearing him apart. Perhaps Thrasher would enjoy desecrating his remains. "You commit blasphemy! Thrasher and his kin murdered the ruling T-rex of the island long ago, and he will likewise murder you as well. You think you can actually take him on? You are gravely mistaken." He snarled as he turned and fled, heading for Thrasher's territory as quickly as he could. This hot-headed rex was going to be in for a very rude awakening if he truly had never heard of the island's great ruler...

"Good luck. If last time was any indication, you're going to need it" rumbled Crusher, Hellfire grunting in acknowledgement. Fatalis just snorted. "Pfft. It'll be easy. Stupid brute cant chase all three of us at the same time. We'll just take turns harassing it until it's where we want it to be" hissed the Raptor. "Don't underestimate it. That thing's slain more predators than I have, and that's saying something" warned Crusher, Fatalis chuckling. "I'll keep that in mind. Anyway, later!" barked the Raptor, before bolting off towards the game trail, Hellfire following...

"If only his eagerness was enough to ensure this plan will be a success!" Aircrest thought as he pulled up along side Fatalis, the trees zipping past the trio as their feet tore up the ground they sped over. With all the energy they seemed to have, one would be fooled into thinking that they weren't running on empty stomachs! Though, should their three-horned gambit work out, a good meal would be more than a suitable reward...
