"Surely you're not so young you don't remember Spectre? 16 years ago, he was where Thrasher is now. Most powerful Rex this island's ever seen, until Thrasher's father Scimitar led an attack against him. Then Thrasher gutted his father 8 years ago, and took the top spot. Almost every tree, plain and river in Thrasher's territory was originally Spectre's" explained Rake, surprised at the Troodon's ignorance on the subject. Seeing Twincrest scramble out of the water, bleeding from her injuries and with a damaged arm, he grunted, amused. "Survived afterall....Not bad" he grunted...

As the charging trike ran the Raptor down, Fatalis suddenly changed direction, turning right along the treeline as he spotted the resting form of a Saurophaganax, a 47 foot predator with light tan and black scales. The predator rose to its feet with an angry snarl as it turned towards the Triceratops, intent on intercepting it before it could go much further...

Aircrest nodded to Hellfire and leaned over to one side, swerving widely and dashing around the Triceratops with a burst of speed. He swooped in and out in between the two giants, the sight catching the Saurophagnax by surprise. What breed of madness was this? In fact, wasn't this Triceratops chasing another raptor? And there was even a Deinonychus! The Sauro's confusion undermined its combat readiness, as per the green raptor's intentions...

Nighteye's dark red orbs narrowed as he listened. "Ah, I see, the former ruler... Yes, I do believe I remember that. I did not pay much attention to current events when the Rexes were in charge. They were merely irritating brutes. We avoided them when we could. We did hear the news of Thrasher's father taking over, however. That was certainly a pleasant thing to hear..." As he spoke, he gave Twincrest a sidelong glance. "Impressive, friend. Try to stay away from the riverbank next time, hm?"

Twincrest looked over at Rake and the Troodonts. " Of course... I'll make sure to remember that. Well since I've taken you to where you need, I will be leaving now." She hissed, licking the blood from her injuried arm as she moved off. She was going to find a place to rest now. The Troodonts could fend for themselves. With her injuries, she knew predators would be coming after her, so she needed to find a safe place to rest...

Barely blinking at the change in the situation, Erebus powered on, directly for the Saurophaganax, closing the distance in seconds as he swung his head up into it's chest, completely intent on impaling it on his long, black-tipped horns...

Fatalis meanwhile had disappeared into the treeline, launching himself up a tree in a single fluid movement, foot hitting bark, claw digging in, kicking off as he launched himself to a low branch and rebounded off that into a higher one in another tree, choosing a comfortable perch to watch the first of several potential clashes with the Triceratops...

"You underestimate Tyrannosaurs. Be wary of that mistake. They are as intelligent as they are powerful, and are capable of cunning on par with the island's most adept tricksters, given the chance. Several of Thrasher's allies have died to this 'Crusher' because of that fatal miscalculation...Do not follow their path" warned Rake ominously as he walked onwards past the border of the Rex's territory, intentionally walking over the dead mutant trike, using it's potent stench to help mask his own...He didn't need the Rex's suspicions raised...

The Saurophagnax heaved its upper torso into the air as it reared up, abruptly refocusing on the confrontation. It narrowly avoided the Trike's horns as it stamped down onto its head, driving it into the ground and -to avoid the horned marauder's momentum throwing it onto its back- stepped over its frill, balancing precariously on its back before hopping off, coming down with an earth quaking thud behind it.

A bellowing snarl emerged from the Triceratops, the likes of which none there had heard before, a gut wrenching rattle that seemed uncharacteristic of the herbivore, the trike lifting his head from the dirt, head swinging round as he forced his upper body off the ground, using the head like a flail to completely change direction, slashing gashes in the predator's tail as his body swung back down into the earth. Puffs of vapour spilled from his nostrils in jets as he glared furiously at the Saurophaganax, snapping his beak threateningly as he held his horns directly ahead of him at the predator, ready to tear the Allosaurid apart...

The Saurophagnax's turn to face the Trike wasn't nearly so swift, an obvious limp impairing its motion. The whole stunt did a number on an ankle, a minor fracture that was enough of a handicap to completely shift the favor of the battle...

As Twincrest walked away from the area, a thought she had tried putting down before resurfaced in her mind... She had outlived her use to Thrasher. She had given him all her information she had on Crusher, and it hadn't been enough. He wasn't satisfied with it, so she was now replaced by the Troodonts and ordered to come back immediately upon bringing them to the area. And what was awaiting her back at Thrasher's territory? Certain death. She was convinced the Sarcosuchus had been sent by Thrasher to kill her there, and she didn't want to think what else Thrasher had to send after her. Yet... that was IF she returned to his place... If she could chuckle, Twincrest would have as she changed course once she was out of sight of Rake. She wouldn't be returning to Thrasher's territory... she was going to find someone else's to leech off...

Meanwhile, the Baryonyx that had been fighting Berserker was now deep within Thrasher's territory. The fish eater looked around. THat tyrannosaurus wanted a real fight? No doubt Thrasher would put him in his place...

Nighteye's gaze followed Rake as he walked past. "I will keep that in mind," he hissed quietly, following the Irritator over the corpse alongside his fellow Troodonts. Of course, it wasn't their job to fight Rexes directly, so that was of no concern of his. Outsmarting them, however, was another matter entirely...

The Saurophaganax's injuries proved indirectly fatal, the Triceratops lunging forward as it tried to turn to face him, Erebus swinging his horned head upwards into it's ribs, sinking in a good three feet before thrashing violently, the resulting gash easily wide enough for its innards to spill to the floor. Erebus wasn't satisfied however, the herbivore pulling back before rearing once more, swinging the horned head down again into a spot above the first injury, sheer weight alone joining the gash until a massive rip extending from spine to stomach split the predator's flank, several ribs broken in the process, bathing the herbivore's head in blood as he snarled lowly, shaking his head as he let it drop to the floor before him...

"......Holy ****..." muttered Fatalis, horrified at the sight. "That....was....amazing!" he barked, being hit across the muzzle by Hellfire. "Shut up you idiot! Do you WANT it to come at us next?!" hissed the Deinonychus. There wasn't much that could rouse a considerable reaction from him, but this Triceratops was definitely an example of such...

Not far ahead of the Irritator and Troodontids, the forest began to thin, gradually giving way to a game trail. Various species of Hadrosaur, a few Ceratopsians, and a couple of Titanosaurus could be seen striding across the vast plain. "This would be a good place to watch the goings on of the surrounding territories; figure out just how many Rexes we're dealing with" growled Rake...

Aircrest joined the others seconds later, pulling his breaths in at such a pace that it seemed like he was hyperventilating. He looked over to both Hellfire and Fatalis, in time managing to get his breathing back under control. "What'd I-" he looked over to the open, blood being washed through the green grass by the falling rain with drummed against the leaves the Saurophagnax was just resting under. "... right," Aircrest said flatly.

"Figuring out a precise number will be difficult without seeing their nests," Nighteye remarked, his gaze wandering over the trail before them. "Scents overlap, especially if it is a large family. I can always track down their main nesting site, perhaps smooth talk Spectre a bit. After all, as far as they know, my pack has no connections with Thrasher..."

Rake's hopes for the plan plummeted like a stone in water at that moment. Was this Troodon serious? "First off," started the Irritator as he stopped, turning to look Nighteye in the face. "Spectre's been dead for 16 years. His entire family are likely burning with rage. Second, Rexes are easily among the most territorial things on this island. Your plan MIGHT work with Allosaurs or Carchas, but Rexes? They'll be after you the moment they spot you" hissed Rake firmly, pupils narrowed to needle-like slits...

The Trike didn't stop there. In what seemed to be a fit of rage, Erebus bit down on the dying Saurophaganax's arm, the beak crushing the bone with frightening ease for a herbivore. as screeches of agony filled the air and the Triceratops continued his brutal dismemberment of the once powerful predator, Hellfire couldn't keep from cringing. "I know Thrasher's a mean, greedy, egotistical wretch, but don't you think setting this guy on him is a bit much?" he growled. "What're you talking about? This is great! Did you SEE how it just RIPPED OPEN the Sauro?! I don't even think Crusher or Thrasher could do that! It's crazy!"...

Thrasher, by the time the Baryonyx had reached the territory, was returning from some 'border expansion'. A small pack of Allosaurs living off the edge of his territory seemed unwilling to leave. Most were adolescents, and with the assistance of a couple of his relatives, he was able to butcher their leader and make a point to the rest. The few that survived unscathed would never dare come near his turf again. As it stood, the massive predator's jaws and claws dripped with blood, and his sail was lined with a brilliant cluster of patterns in orange and black, making him instantly recogniseable as he drank from a nearby stream...

"One down, many more to go. I think this is the start of a gigantic chain reaction," Aircrest growled as he watched the Triceratops' horrid throes of rage. "good thing it's raining, then. I don't think so much blood lying around would be good for anyone."

Berserker snarled as he tracked the Baryonyx's scent. He didn't care who this Thrasher was, but he was ready to show these Spinosaurs their place. The Tyrannosaur followed the Baryonyx, growling bitterly as he was ready for what these theropods had in store for him...

Nighteye was unfazed at Rake's obvious irritation. He didn't much care, really. He had learned information out of that little rant, anyway. Spectre was dead, and his relatives were likely unfriendly to the extreme. Smart they may have been, but overly-aggressive brutes they remained as well. "Very well then," the Troodon hissed plainly. "I suppose you have a better plan, then? You know far more about the situation than we do."

The baryonyx did indeed spot Thrasher, and approached, aware that the rex was on his trail. "Thrasher." The Baryonyx hissed as he slowly approached the massive Spinosaurus, taking careful consideration of what he was saying. "There is a challenger coming who to fight you."

"How long will the rain last though?" hissed Hellfire lowly as a flash of lightning lit the sky above. "Hopefully not long. I wanna see some DESTRUCTION" hissed Fatalis in response, a suspiciously maniacal snicker escaping his lips, just as the boom of thunder overhead concealed it, the sound chasing at the heels of the lightning flash that ignited the sky moments prior...

"Stick to the shadows. You and your kind are good at that. You have the speed to evade them, but if you can avoid being detected at all, it'll be better for the both of us. Also keep in mind Rexes have the best sense of smell of any creature on this island. I personally use mud to cloak my scent, because its easily accessible unless you're in Death Valley" growled Rake as he imparted his knowledge to the Troodon, hoping that he wasn't making a massive mistake by putting such a delicate plan in the claws of these predators...

"Yes, you do look rather...mangled. Clearly it was larger than you were...and by the smell of things, a Rex, too" hissed Thrasher as he glanced sideways at the Baryonyx. "The brute was a fool for reminding me it existed" before a low rumbling snarl reverberated in his throat as he drank, two more predators emerging from the river, the two Suchomimus hissing as they pulled their soaked, muddy bodies from the water, climbing out to either side of Thrasher as he rose and paced towards the direction the Baryonyx came, entering the clearing amidst the forest, the Suchos remaining behind, hiding in the trees to oversee things. They knew their duty here was to watch. The odds Thrasher would ask them to fight were virtually non-existent. There was nothing the Spinosaurus revelled in more than tearing apart upstarts...

"We are not juveniles at play, Rake," Nighteye hissed calmly. He knew he had the Irritator concerned; he could practically smell it. "I assure you, when it comes to speed and stealth, we are unmatched. If we have it our way, these Rexes will have no idea we were ever here."
