I absolutely love my sci fi, and I have never felt compelled to play any Halo games. They just seem so bland.

Probably. I've played it multiplayer a few times, wasn't great, bit of a bullet sponge fest. I also played a bit of Halo 3 Co-op, and it was just overwhelmingly boring. Maybe the story could save it. Either way, I've never had an X-box, so most of the games are off limits, the PC port of Halo 2 was god awful and Halo 3 and above never got PC ports.

Doc: I take it that the pc port of Halo 2 having alot of notable glitches was a contributing factor to your opinion of it?

bad ports are always a pain to deal with. I prefer playing games on their original console than on a different port if all possible. Even now, I still recall the horror stories of the Pac Man Atari port...

And it is great to see we have some idea of why we have preserved T-rex tissue... never would have thought of that as an explanation. Then again, I'm not a major chemist.

I never ended up getting the PC port. It was widely regarded as being pretty damn pants.
Its performance was horrible, didn't take advantage of PC power at all, and required Games For Windows Live. Which was basically cancer. It wasn't done by Bungie, but out sourced to some other crowd, if I'm not mistaken

The gameplay of the campaign can be pretty tedious to actually go through, but the story itself is well worth it.

Saw the trailer a few hours ago. I was hoping for at least a fleeting glimpse of one of Godzilla's foes in it, but it's still a good trailer.

"Must... Crawl... Back... From... The abyss!"

"Where ya goin' there?"

"NO!"

And RT was never heard from again...

But anyway, enough theatrics. Interesting article about the explanation of the preserved Rex tissue. Hope we find more, then JP for real (hopefully without the events of the movie!)

I don't think actually cloning dinosaurs is possible. Not due to technological shortcomings, but rather environmental ones. They wouldn't be able to breathe our air. It may very well be toxic to them. And even IF they could breathe it, they'd never grow to the same proportions as their ancestors, because that requires a larger oxygen percentage in the air than is present in our atmosphere now.

But if you think about it, them not getting as big could prove to benefit us in a sense, since therefore it would be easier to raise those animals including the sauropods, as they wouldn't require as much food or space as their ancestors.

Dude. Atmospheric conditions. Our air would most likely be toxic to them, even IF they were smaller. They'd suffocate to death shortly after being exposed to it.

It'd be nightmarishly expensive to sustain though. Whatever government or organisation took on the job would find cash depleting fast, particularly when considering the kind of territorial requirements the animal would require.
