Nuka hissed in pain, the wounded leg almost crippling her. She hoppled in a circle, turning so she could she see the battle between the massive rex and her cousin. She trumpeted,"I hope your happy cous! Because now, for your actions, you will die!" She layed down slowly, gingerly, trying not to injure her leg anymore as she set her blood stained body onto the ground, watching the scene...

"We'll see about that!" snarled the Spinosaur as Crusher lunged at him in an attempt to end it, Thrasher swinging his entire upper body sideways, parrying the Rex's attack and slashing across his entire flank, a long bloody gash starting at his shoulder and ending behind his hip, a second slash tearing into the Rex's upper leg, a third down the top of his tail, near the base. The Tyrannosaur was scrambling to recover, swinging his tail at the Spinosaur , only to have the blow countered with a hipcheck, stopping it dead. Crusher ran, trying to put space between himself and the Spinosaur, whose rage had made him nigh untouchable...

Morphena could barely stand to watch. Crusher was getting mauled more thoroughly than anything she had ever seen. It took all her self restraint to avoid trying to jump in, only the knowledge that she would be a hindrance to him and an excuse for Thrasher calling in the countless predators all around them into the fight, keeping her from intervening. For now, she was powerless...

"The ironic thing is that nothing will change...regardless of who lives and who dies here. So long as there are super predators on this island that are hungry...angry...envious. There will always be predators who will try to take control. I kept this island in check...Do you really think you can do the same?" hissed Thrasher as he approached, his dark green hide streaked with blood, the Rex turning once he'd put some space between them. The Spinosaur lunged forward, the Rex ducking as Thrasher's claws dug into his shoulders, trying to hold him down.

Nuka hissed, almost rising up, about to attack her cousin before the rex died. The only things keeping her wounded carcass from doing that were her crippled leg, and the almost certain death if she did. She simply rose, her strong arms supporting her weight as she rested in a crouch position, both ready to attack if needed, and to help keep the multi- ton weight of her body mostly off her leg. She glanced at the female, only a single grumble escaping her toothy jaws as she watched the fight. "When Thrasher gets ready to kill, attack with all that's left in you and I'll be behind you."

Crusher's head tilted up, biting into the Spinosaur's leg, unable to get a decent grip, but enough to scare the Spinosaur into shifting. The change was enough, Crusher's foot coming forward to support the excess weight near his front, before pushing powerfully upwards, forcing the Spinosaur off. Thrasher stepped back slowly as he struggled to hold the Rex down, gasping as the Tyrannosaur's fangs grazed his throat. "Your 'control' has starved most of the predators on the island...they're killing eachother out there because you keep all the food trapped here" snarled Crusher as Thrasher backed away. "And so it should remain! Too many predators will end up killing all the food on the island....then we'll ALL starve. At least like this, the predators hunt and eat eachother, keeping their own numbers down. Don't pretend your father was any different...He was no better than I, and far beyond anything you could ever hope to become. He saw the problem. You, for all your 'experience', are blind!" roared Thrasher as he and Crusher lunged at once, the Spinosaur intercepting the Rex with his reach, knocking him sideways and exposing his other flank, slashing twice across the Tyrannosaur's side before Crusher twisted, grabbing him by the neck and tossing him sideways, sending the sail-backed predator stumbling to the forest floor.

"And yet, you never saw this coming...the collective hatred of the island destroying you and your allies...My father was a fool...His greed is what made you and your kin kill him...and why it was so easy for me to pick your own defences apart...greed earns nothing but hatred...and hatred is what brings death" snarled the Tyrannosaur as he walked over to the Spinosaur, Thrasher getting to his feet, only for Crusher to ram him back to the ground, putting a foot on the Spinosaur's sail to hold him down. Thrasher could only laugh. "Oh, how heroic of you! You think killing me will end your problems? you poor, ignorant fool! This will only be the beginning! Your family will be tormented for as long as one still breathes! You will NEVER have peace! The island's predators will NEVER let you be, and you will ALWAYS be looking over your shoulder in fear, knowing that one day, you will be the one to be slain in the name of a cause only the naive would believe in!" snarled the Spinosaurus as he thrashed, trying to get free, slipping out from beneath the Rex's hold and rolling onto his front, only to be knocked over and pinned down by the flank by another foot.

"Maybe....but that's my problem, not yours" snarled Crusher as Thrasher's eyes widened, Crusher's foot pressing down more and more powerfully on his side, the Spinosaur struggling to get to his feet, trapped. A second Spinosaur walked out of the treeline, her hide turqoise, jagged patterns of silver and black decorating her flanks. She snarled lowly as she approached, only to be cut off my Morphena, fangs bared and eyes glaring dangerously. "Stay back, Bahari" hissed Thrasher as he eyed the Spinosaur, the female pausing as she eyed the massive Spinosaur beneath Crusher's feet, acknowledging his command reluctantly. "I won't kill you though. I won't do to your family what you did to mine" rumbled Crusher.

A couple of snaps could be heard beneath the Rex's foot, a sharp hiss of pain escaping the fallen Spinosaur, ribs being broken by the Tyrannosaur's weight as he stepped back, Morphena watching in shock. "Get up, and get out. I won't let you live if I ever see you near this territory again...You will live on the outskirts...and see for yourself what you've done" snarled the Tyrannosaur through narrowed eyes as Thrasher struggled to his feet, glaring at the Rex, something more than mere hate in his eyes. Despite everything, it was clear Thrasher at least respected the Tyrannosaur. Limping away, the Spinosaur made a gurgling growl, glancing around at the various predators watching the scene. "Those with old territories around Thrasher's borders are welcome to stay where they are. The territories of those that died are to remain empty. I'll mark out my share of what's left. the remainder is open for those who wish to claim it. Thrasher's kin are to leave this place. With him or without is your choice" rumbled the Tyrannosaur finally, his gaze falling upon Nuka. "With the exception of you. You are welcome to stay" he added as Morphena began to approach the injured Rex, examining the damage, not knowing whether to nuzzle the predator or attack him for letting the Spinosaur go. Did she have a right to? Her family hadn't suffered from Thrasher directly. Their only problem had been food and the occasional invading predator. Crusher's family had been all but massacred by the giant. If anything, she should have been thankful...

Thrasher, meanwhile, glanced around at the predators that had watched, most of them turning their back on him and departing. With his defeat, they no longer had a reason to stay by his side. Many of them had seen how viciously the Rex had fought, and how thoroughly he had defeated the Spinosaur in the end. He was no longer the strongest on the island. The Scarred Rex had earned that title himself, and none there wanted to risk crossing that monster of a Tyrannosaur. The only ones that didn't leave Thrasher were his family; Bahari, two younger Spinosaurs, and two other adults that looked as though they could be siblings or perhaps cousins. Together, the 6 Spinosaurs departed, escorting their injured relative away. "That fool has no idea what he's done...But he will learn in time" hissed the giant as he left the clearing for the southern parts of the island, aiming for an area of forest and swampland that had once been the home of a pack of Suchomimus and a few Sarcosuchus...If they were still there, it wouldn't be difficult to displace them and take over...injured though he may be, he was still a powerful fighter...and he would be able to claim it with little trouble...

Nuka bowed her head in thanks, rising up to her full height. She stared at the leaving spinosaurs, sighing in disappointment. "I hoped he would get what was coming to him," she grumbled as she limped toward a nearby tree. She layed her bloody body down, beginning to lick the wounds clean. Before she did that, she roared as loud as she could, proclaiming the new top carnivore on the island.

"If you want to kill him," growled Crusher as he tilted his gaze to the Spinosaur, "then feel free to do so. I won't let myself become the thing I've hated most of my life...the cycle will never end if I do...his young will come after me and my kin....my young, if they survive, will go after them...and this nightmare will continue indefinitely. Killing him won't bring my father, brothers or grandparents back" he concluded as he and Morphena tended to eachother's wounds. Morphena had handled herself well, all things considered. Her snout was scratched and would probably remain scarred. Her flank had a single slash across it which would likely also scar. Her shoulder and neck had a few shallow cuts, but most of them would probably heal well. Nuka's hide, at a distance, looked significantly more damaged. A claw slash to the flank marked where she had been attacked by the Acrocanthosaur, and a bite to the arm would act as a permanent reminder of the predator. Her snout was scratched, her other flank, clawed by both a clawed hand and a foot. Her sail had been bitten, her head probably scarred from where the Oxalaia had tried to rip her head off, and her leg had been bitten and clawed shortly before the beast's demise.

Crusher, on the other hand, looked to be a veritable monument to pain. In addition to the countless scars he already had, his snout, neck, shoulders, flanks and tail were covered in scratches and bite marks, many of them deep and undoubtedly permanent marks of the fight. His face had been clawed several times, his shoulders scratched up, his neck bitten, clawed and undoubtedly scarred in several places, his flanks marked with a fair share of scars themselves, including one that extended from his shoulder to behind the hip, and across the top of the base of his tail, a wide 3 claw slash could be seen. It would be a good few months before any of the injuries fully healed, and Crusher was certain that at this rate, he would have earned the title of the Scarred Tyrant before long...

She shook her head, growlin,"Maybe in a few weeks. But not now, for I am hurt, as are you even from my look," she adde, seeing the countless wounds on the tyrannosaur. She finished licking the blood off her own wounds, thinking of how she would seem with all the scars her body will get from these. "At least their badges of battle," she hummed to herself, watching the now peaceful meadow.

"I wouldn't risk it if I were you, Nuka" growled Morphena as she licked her wounds. "The ones left with Thrasher are his closest family, and they'll see you as a traitor. I got lucky because I was challenging Thrasher for the territory. But now that they've been forced out, they'd probably attack anything that attacked them together" added Crusher as he slowly settled to the ground, a cringe notable on his face as he growled, aches and pains all over his body.

Even after being dethroned and ousted, Thrasher and his ilk continued to shake the ground they treaded upon like a roaming force of nature despite their crushing defeat. The trees rustled and swayed. Rocks became animate for seconds at a time, leaping from the forest floor. Dirt and mud sifted as their talons thudded against the earth. Little did they know, they were being followed by the ones that the island's history most likely won't recall. The ones whose jobs did not end with the conclusion of Thrasher's reign. Aircrest crept along, dashing in between the thick trunks of the trees and peeking out sparingly. Leaves were raining down all around him, the sweeping shadows of massive tails sailing over his head.

She growled, rising to her full height, ignoring the pain throbbing. "I may die, but I must do this," she said, heading toward the two rexes. She stopped infront of the two tyrannosaur. She stood tall, bowing her head in respect. "It's been nice fighting with you two." She brushed her hands by the tops of their skulls, lighting touching a claw down. She sighed," I hope we meet again in a much more peaceful setting." With that, she began heading toward the river, a prominent limp in her step. 'Get ready cousin, because I'm coming for you,' she thought as she followed the bloody spinosaur's scent.

"You have a place here whenever you need it, Nuka" growled Crusher as he watched the Spinosaur leave. Inwardly, he shook his head. He knew this could well be the last time they ever see Nuka alive, as Thrasher wouldn't hesitate to have the entire family attack at once for the scale of the betrayal she had committed against them. The first was perception. But the second? It was very real...

"That idiot really thinks he's won. As if the island's going to let him keep that place for long" snarled Thrasher as he walked slowly, his mate at his side, a couple of his relatives helping escort the two and their young to their new home. "It's out of our control now, Thrasher. Let him learn the hard way" hissed Bahari calmly. "At the expense of everyone else? Eventually it'll be us that starve. Or our young. Or THEIR young. What then? 'Ooops. Seems we were wrong' isn't going to do anything to help our situation!" snarled the massive Spinosaur, Bahari shrinking away from him for a moment before he sighed, lowering his head as he gestured for her to come back to his side. He knew he wasn't in a position to lash out at anyone. The only ones he had left were the ones who actually cared about him...They were the ones he couldn't afford to lose...

"Well aren't you a testy one," Aircrest thought as he observed Thrasher's outburst. Slipping through the brush, he couldn't afford the deep thought to contemplate what was running through the snouted terror's head at that precise moment. To the raptor, it seemed that the spinosaur was reacting as any other would after losing their title: attempting to reaffirm his damaged ego. Or at the very least, to maintain appearances to his family, whereas his body was not able to intimidate any rival. Aircrest wondered if he could use this to his advantage.

Either appear to the sail-back and exploit his fragile state, or continue to follow him to see where he would lead his family. Both would warrant different kinds of information, but what would be most pressing to know right now, was the issue. Especially with Thrasher's forecast of misfortune...

"Fatalis," the green raptor rumbled lowly. He never thought his comrade's boundless energy for peril would ever be of use to any mission of his, but he was beginning to reconsider as pieces of a plan started to assemble in his mind.

Nuka hooted thanks to the rexes, not looking back, heading toward her goal slowly, wanting time to recover from her injuries. 'Lets hope he's too hurt to kill me, even if I have to take on his entire family, I will finish what he started,' she thought, nearing the riverside cliff. Moving to a much gentler slope, she dove into the water, her powerful tail propelling her through the murky mass.

Crusher sighed as the Spinosaur departed, his pained expression softening as his gaze settled on the female beside him. "That was some impressive fighting back there" growled the male with a smirk. "Eh. You learn a few things when you have something invading every day. You weren't too bad yourself" responded Morphena, tilting her head as she eyed the scarred Rex. "Eh. You learn a few things when you spend your life on the run" rumbled Crusher, mirroring the female's response, the two chuckling. "So what happens now?" she growled. "We rest a bit, and then bring our families here" growled Crusher. "I could help out with that" hissed Hellfire as he walked out from the midst of the trees. "Who're you?" growled Morphena, eyes narrowed, Crusher smirking at the sight of him. "Hellfire? I thought you'd be with Fatalis and Aircrest? What changed?" growled the Tyrannosaur, the Deinonychus shrugging. "Dunno, really. We were split up a few days ago, then that old fossil of a Raptor showed up and sent me here. Dunno where I'm supposed to go next, so I may as well help. Besides, if one or both of you go, you'll just come back to find some greedy opportunist here instead. The way I see it, if both of you are here, nobody'd be crazy enough to try" hissed the dark Deinonychus with a smirk. "Fair enough" growled Crusher, chuckling. "I dunno if my parents will want to come here. That's been our territory since before I can remember. I'm fairly sure my mother's parents were the original owners of it" rumbled Morphena thoughtfully. "Up to them in the end. I'll just let them know and let them decide on what to do. If some of them do decide to stay there, you can stop by after there's a few more of you here to keep an eye on things" barked Hellfire, Morphena nodding in appreciation. "What about Thrasher? Aren't you wondering where he's going?" growled Crusher, curious. "I'd bet the fossil's following him already. Or if nothing else, has someone else following him. Either way, I'm not exactly one for following grumpy Spinosaurs around. That's Fatalis's job and Ripper knows it. If that's what he wanted he'd've sent Fatalis here, not me" growled the firebrand hunter with a smirk, Crusher tilting his head with a nod. He had a point.

"You called?" hissed a raspy voice above Aircrest, the dark Velociraptor's head hanging nearly upside down in front of the Wanderer. Fatalis had been following as well, sticking to the trees to avoid detection. Having spotted Aircrest, he had descended, letting himself fall behind the Spinosaurs in order to communicate undetected...

"You were better off in the tree," Aircrest deadpanned. He stuck his head out of the greenery to look down the torn up straight that the giants had created before turning back to the yellow-speckled raptor. They might have been huge and lumbering, but the spinosaurs were covering a lot of distance just by walking. "Thrasher isn't in good shape right now. Both of us could see that. I think we can chance -and by we I mean you- a more risky, direct approach, if you follow..."

She soon reached the other side, her wounds still aching from the fight. "Accursed Oxalaia's. May their kind die out," she growled, shaking her body dry. She roared in pain, her neck killing her, a past injury's pain resurfacing. Dealing with the aching sensations, she continued toward Thrasher, a deep rumble emanating from her chest.

"Not too difficult. Question is, what do we gain by turning up the heat? I don't think the two of us could kill him. Sure it'll be a blast pissing him off, but then what?" inquired the speckled Raptor, his head tilted curiously...

"Guess I'll see you when I get back with your family then" hissed Hellfire with a smirk, before turning away and heading off into the treeline, the two Rexes left to their peace amidst the cool shade of the canopy-covered clearing. In the aftermath of the fight, the chirping of birds could once again be heard, and a couple of compies could be seen slowly approaching the dead Spinosaurids. The distant silhouettes of super predators could be seen departing across the plains, which, for now, were clear of herbivores, barring those too large or heavily armoured to be at risk. "You know, you've got yourself a nice bit of territory now. Plenty of trees, water, its no wonder why Thrasher had all the prey here. Part of it was probably them not wanting to leave" growled Morphena with a smirk, Crusher nodding.

"We" he growled. "What?" growled Morphena, head tilting in confusion. "We've got ourselves a nice bit of territory. You don't honestly think I'd keep this place to myself, did you?" he rumbled with a smile. "Well yeah, my family and I will be right on your bord-" responded Morphena, Crusher shaking his head. "I meant it literally. If you like, you could stay right here. Share the territory with me" he growled. Morphena went silent, taken completely by surprise. "Whoa....whoa whoa whoa hang on...Are you actually asking what I think you're asking?" she rumbled, eyes wide. Crusher simply nodded, smiling. It was obvious she was thinking a million thoughts at once, considering the implications. "I....I don't know what to....Yeah..I'd like that" she growled after a few moments, obviously at a loss for words, unsure how to respond. Crusher curled his tail around the female as he lifted his head, offering her a spot against his side, Morphena coming closer. "Guess this's a big day in more ways than one" she growled after a few moments of silence, Crusher simply chuckling as he nuzzled against her...

"Wrong way" hissed a voice ahead of the black and orange Deinonychus, Ripper walking out from behind a tree, Hellfire barely stopping in time to avoid colliding with the smaller, older predator. "How did you get here?" growled the Deinonychus as Ripper reasserted himself. "I got bored of where I was so I walked into a tree trunk and came out here. What do you think?" hissed the Elder again. "You can do that?" hissed the larger of the two, an unamused look coming from the Elder, earning him a quiet, guilty looking 'sorry' from the Deinonychus. "As I was saying. Wrong way. Follow Thrasher with Aircrest and Fatalis" growled the Elder. "Where were they? I got to the fight but couldn't see them" barked the Deinonychus. "Aircrest was in a bush to your left, and Fatalis was in the trees above you. If you'd been paying attention to something other than the fight, you'd've realised" growled Ripper as he turned to continue the path Hellfire had originally taken.

"Right. So they're following Thrasher now? What about Crusher's family?" barked the Deinonychus. "I'll tend to them. Knowing them they'll be on high alert. Going anywhere near them will get you killed, and they probably won't listen if you tell them Crusher sent you" hissed Ripper. "But they'll listen to you?" growled Hellfire, cocking his head. "They've known me most of their lives. They'll listen" growled the rusty red Raptor, eyes shimmering amber against a black background. Surprisingly, the appearance of feathers on his hide had done nothing to reduce his well groomed appearance. It was as if he'd taken to preening perfectly. Almost as if emphasising the Deinonychus's thought, Ripper preened the feathers on one of his arms, tending to them briefly before pressing on, leaving Hellfire to catch up with his comrades. Without another wasted moment, the Deinonychus bolted into the undergrowth.

"Killing him isn't the issue. Getting information is the goal here, prodding him until he tells us something we don't know already," Aircrest explained to Fatalis. "You see, Thrasher is no ordinary spinosaurus. What I want to know is, how in the hell did he end up like that. If we find out how a mutant like him is made, we can take steps to stop any others from appearing ever again."

The green raptor cocked his head and looked up into the jungle canopy as another thought occurred to him. With a shrug, he added: "Anything else he sheds light on could be considered a bonus."

"Not that I'm against some pointless risk taking, but why would he tell me how he gets to be a huge grumpy monster of a Spino? If anything he'd hide that sort of thing from someone trying to piss him off" hissed Fatalis confusedly...

Not far behind them, Hellfire was tearing across the forest floor, ducking under low branches and over fallen logs, weaving around trees as he closed the gap swiftly...
