Adeline closed the door and was about to head to bed herself, but she noticed that Eric was still in the room. "Oh right, singing lessons." She could see Eric striding over to her. He closed the space between them and started to caress her cheek. Adeline was confused. This was a singing lesson, right? "Eric, isn't this suppose to be a singing lesson?"
"It's not the time yet," Eric debated, still caressing her cheek, not wanting this moment with her to end.
"We need to get it done, so let's do it," she huffed.
"Very well." He sighed and stepped back to observe her posture. It looked like he taught her well over the years. "Start with the warm-ups," he instructed.
Adeline did as she was told, going from low to high, but Eric stopped her and shook his head. "What is it?"
"You're not breathing right." He went behind her. "You have to breath from here." He moved his hands to her stomach and placed them there, then moved her closer to him so that her body molded with his. "Try again," he hissed in her ear.
She listened and did as Eric instructed. She was nervous that he was standing behind her and wondered when he was going to finally leave. Her voice started with the shake, but as she got higher with the notes, it got better. "How was that?"
"Better, but your voice is shaky. Here, let me sing for you." He stepped away from her and held her hand. He knew what song to sing to her. It was a song that she probably knew very well, one that he sometimes used to sing her to sleeping. He opened his mouth and started to sing, staring at her in the eyes.
Adeline gasped. She recognized that song. Her eyes slowly started to flutter as his voice almost started to take a hold of her. It was deep and intoxicating to the bone. He was tempting her, leading her around the room. Every so often he would get almost close enough to kiss her, but then he would back away again to sing. She didn't know how long she would be able to take this song. "Oh, Eric, what are you doing?" He came close to her again, still singing softly. His hands went on the side of her cheeks, then they went down to her neck. He turned her so that she was molded into him once again and ran his hand across her waist. Her eyes closed. She leaned her head again him. He lifted her left hand up and pressed it against his cheek, and whispered in her ear. His cheek was warm to the touch. She turned around slowly and went from his eyes to his lips.
Eric felt like he had her right where he wanted her. He could see her eyes going from his eyes to his lips. "The song worked," he thought. As she stood here before him, she looked vulnerable. For now, she was under his command. He was her master, her maestro. He went in for the kill, bringing his lips closer to hers. The meer thought of touching her lips excited him.
Her arms went around his neck and their lips connected. Adeline's eyes were closed. Everything around her melted away. There was only music in this room.
Meanwhile, Captain Yuke was getting prepared for bed. He sighed and wondered what tommorow would bring before finally getting in and slowly drifting to sleep.
