James said "Oh, nothing much. i'll be back when im done getting some milk". he went down below deck and went to where the cows were kept, surprisingly, still alive and healthy considering what had happened. he milked them, then went off to the galley, and started to heat it under the fire after a few minutes of getting it going. a bit of Rum over the wood sped it up, and soon, the fire was ready. he heated the milk, and then left, knowing the stone fireplace would keep the fire in check. he went back above deck, and went to his cabin, and put down both mugs. without a word, he got out the chocolate powder, which had only barely escaped the crabs, and put a bit in Adelines mug as well as his own. he handed one to Adeline and said "It's hot, so be careful with it. i'll be back in a minute". he then grabbed two rum bottles he had on a shelf, held in place by a wood carved bottle holder, and walked out of the quarters, closing the door behind him. Rainbow flew in through the window, and started to whistle the Song. meanwhile, James walked up to Eric, and handed him a bottle of Rum, which, due to age, was unusually strong. he said "Come with me, Eric. i would preffer we dont have those damned crew members' prying eyes and ears interfering". James then walked below deck, walking into the cabin Eric had occupied...

Adeline raised an eyebrow, but said nothing. She was suprised and glad to see Rainbow pop in and smiled at the bird as he started to sing the Song. She started to sing along with the parrot, unaware of what was going on between James and Eric.

Eric watched James' actions carefully, but followed the captain with his rum bottle in hand. He still couldn't help wondering where Adeline went though. "Now, what do you want to talk about," he inquired with a sigh. "I don't have all day. I have somewhere to be."

James said "calm down man, we're at World's End. we have all the time in the world". James handed him a bottle and opened his own, encouraging him to take a sip. he took a small swig of his own and waited to see how Eric would react...

Eric continued to watch James as he took a swig of his room. Eric opened his own bottle, sniffed it, then finally took a swig from it. A voice in his head said, "Rum will help you out." The rum was...good. He chugged a little down before finally taking it out and waiting for James to speak. He started to feel a little funny, but payed no heed to it, for the rum was very good. "What is it now...go on." He was getting a little impatient with this young man.

"Well, mate. i've been noticing you seem to be glaring at me as if i had done something absolutely murderous. and you've been doin it since you saw me. i've been wonderin; why the hostile stance? seems to me i must've done something you weren't too happy about. Mind fillin' me in on that, mate?". James would use the Rum to loosen his tongue, lighten his mood, and to soften him up a bit. it was ironic that considering their lives were so similar, they hated eachother. James took another long swig of his rum, which he had watered down the previous night before going to sleep, after he was sure Adeline had gone to sleep completely. he knew that, eventually, he'd want to talk to this guy, and then he'd need to keep level headed while Eric was barely in focus. he had a few more swigs of his Rum, while he waited for Eric to respond...

Eric took another chug from his rum bottle before answering the question. "It's simple, you better keep your hands off of Adeline," he growled as he thought about Adeline's words before he married her. "She is my wife and I don't want any other man coming on to her." He took another swig. This rum was slowly starting to take a hold of him, but in a bad way. The more he thought about Adeline missing, the more he got mad. "Where is she now?" He stood from his place on the bed and paced the room. "Is she with you?"

James grinned. Eric was obviously getting very drunk at this point. James said "Well, i suppose beatings and forcing one's wife to do every last thing one tells her to as if she is a mere plaything to one is what marriage is all about? one would be wise to avoid such actions, especially when the person these actions are being performed on is one's friend, as something such as those actions can be harmful to one's health, both physically and mentally". he knew that soon, his own sentences would be very vague and confusing for the drunken man in front of him...

Eric was confused by James' sentence. What did he exactly say. "What? What'ss tha' suppose to mean? You failed to answer my quessstion." He was starting to slur. "Where isss Ade...line." He took another swig of his rum, only to find that he drank it all.

James said "Adeline's with my Macaw, Rainbow, enjoying herself, singing a song. however, that is irrelevant to our lil' conversation. Let's just say marriage isn't something that opens up everything to one's will. one can get in a bit of a mess if one is caught doing things that one shouldn't be doing, such as beating one's wife and forcing one's wife to do things one's wife wouldn't want to do, savvy?". James grinned. it was working well...such vague talk was intimidating, but innocent at the same time. Eric would worry about what it meant, but wouldn't be able to attack him for it since it wasn't a direct attack at him...

Eric was getting more confused by James' sentences and he wasn't liking it. He had a dumbfound expression on his face. "Wha?" How should he reply to such a sentence? He wasn't sure, and was slowly beginning to worry of the meaning of that sentence. "I guesso," he slurred. Maybe he needed to sit down again. He stumbled over to the bed and sat upon it. "Wha are y' tryin' to saaay?"

James grinned. "Well, let's just say one's been told stories of what happened in one's absence, and one doesn't like what one hears. savvy?"...

He was really starting to grow worried and angry. "Whassstories? Savvyyy?" Should he be even saying that word to James? What was he saying savvy to? What the heck was James talking about? He wasn't liking this at all. "I needto speak to Adeline noow!"

James said "Old stories one missed during one's absence. ones that one wasn't too happy to hear of. one should be careful what one does to one's wife, otherwise one could find one's self in alot of trouble by one's anger, savvy?". James felt like bursting with laughter at Eri'c confusion, but he contained it. all that showed on his face was a grin, which seemed more out of happiness than out of will to fall apart laughing. he said "Calm down, Eric. you'll see Adeline. but your not fit to walk, much less climb to the deck. for now, just stay here and rest. I'll have Adeline come and see you soon"...

"Savvvy?" Eric's anger was starting to form. He put a hand to his head and tried to calm himself down. A headache was starting to develop because of James and his big words. "Sssstopp itt, headache," he groaned and felt like laying down on the bed.

James smiled. "Now that that bit of information is overwith, i'll leave you to rest. the only way to get rid of that headache is with rest. peace and quiet. i'll keep everyone away from your room for today. i'll see you tonight. headaches like the one you probably have now will take that long to disappear completely. any sooner and you'll have it coming back, with a vengeance. it'll be worse than it is now if you dont rest properly. i'll see you tonight". James then turned to leave, knowing his talk had done it's job. it confused Eric, but, now he couldn't claim he wasn't warned...

Eric grumbled. He didn't want to rest, but he didn't want the headache to continue. "Bbbut whot about Adddelinne," he inquired. He wanted her to be with him if he had such a bad headache. Adeline would take care of him like last time.

Adeline was tired of singing with Rainbow and took a sip of chocolate milk from her mug. She closed her eyes at the taste of it and let out a contented sigh. While drinking her chocolate milk, she wondered what James could be doing and hoped that he would hurry back. It would be good to spend more time with him. She reminded herself that he probably needed her more than Eric did. "But what about your promise, Adeline? To be a good and loyal wife to Eric? I am a good and loyal wife. Are you really?"

James said "Don't worry. Adeline'll be here soon. but for now, just rest. sleep, you need it". James then walked out of the cabin, closed the door, and left, telling Raphael as he got up onto the deck to make sure nobody disturbed Eric's rest. he then walked into the Quarters and said "Lovely singing voice you have, Adeline. i enjoyed listening to that while i was moving around outside". Rainbow squaked "RAAAAAK! Flirt! RAAAAAAAAK!". James chuckled as he looked at Rainbow, who simply squaked "Feed me!". James stared at him. "You call me a flirt and now expect me to feed you? some cheek you have". Rainbow hissed and squaked "Shutup and feed me, you bloody pirate!". James cocked his head as if saying "you're pushing it". Rainbow then chirped weakly "Please?". James chuckled and went over to a bowl of fruit on the table, picking a mango...

Adeline was glad to see James back. "Thank you," she said softly and chuckled softly at Rainbow's squaks of flirt. She watched the whole thing between James and Rainbow and couldn't help but let out little laughs. "You know, you two make a great pair," she said between laughs.

James grinned. "Well, his cheek can serve for some interesting moments...much to my discomfort". Rainbow chewed on a bit of mango James had cut him, putting some of his rum on it before Rainbow started. Rainbow squaked "Dont blame me for liking to amuse people! RAAAAAAAAK!". James stared at Rainbow for a moment, who looked at him, cocking his head and squaking "What?". James sighed, and went over to the armchair next to Adeline's, to relax a bit, having sliced the mango completely and soaked them all with rum...

Adeline's rolled her eyes playfully at the smart bird and shook her head. "Anyway, James where did you go? I missed not having you around?" She pouted her lips slightly, trying to pull of a cute and innocent expression on her face.
