Adeline followed James to the deck to find that nobody was up yet. She sighed in relief and went over to the railing to look out at the beautiful sea. She closed her eyes as the smell of the sea welcomed her. Suddenly, she heard a voice, but this time, it wasn't in her mind. It was singing the same song it was singing to her last night, coaxing her to succumb to it. Two arms wrapped around her. A shiver went through her spine. There was whispering of the song in her ear now. Adeline finally opened her eyes and turned around and looked up to find she was staring into the face of Eric. Her lips parted in a gasp. He was too close. "Good, good mor-" She was cut off with a kiss.

Eric couldn't help but stare at Adeline as she was staring out at the sea. Her eyes were closed. She looked beautiful to him, like an angel. His eyes were only focused on her. He crept up on her like a predator about to strike on its prey and started to sing to her the song he sang on the night of the singing lesson. When she finally turned around and let out a small gasp, he smiled and gazed into her eyes. He noticed that she tried to form the words, "good morning," but thought it better to greet her with a soft kiss. He finally broke the small kiss and cupped her chin, forcing her again to look up at him. "Good morning," he whispered.

Adeline didn't know what to do or say. He was still so close to her. She was beginning to feel uncomfortable. "James...James is up here, oh god!" She bit her lip and smiled faintly. "Um, g-good morning," she stuttered.

James was up at the wheel, eating one of his oranges, whistling the tune to The Song, as Nathan told him what Gibbs had send him via Mr. Cotton's Parrot about the plans, about ShipWreck Cove being less than a day away. "...and, if the wind keeps up, we should be there by Afternoon" concluded Nathan. James nodded. "Thank you, Nathan. now, if you'll be so kind as to get me a bottle of Rum from my cabin? a green bottle". Nathan nodded and went below deck. James spotted Eric walk up behind Adeline and then embrace her in a kiss. his blood was boiling and his eyes seemed to have an enraged fire lightening them...

Raphael was watching his Captain from the railing of the quarter deck, not more than 6 feet from James. he was actually getting nervous as he saw James eying the man with Captain Adeline. he was at such an angle that he could see the look in his Captain's eyes as he stared at Eric. few things could scare him, but the look he saw in James' eyes did. he decided to keep silent and not to interfere unless things got bloody...

James decided he'd intervene, as he could spot a look on Adeline's face that didn't exactly look happy to see Eric again. "Eric mate! good mornin! here, catch!" he called out as he tossed an Orange, though he secretly hoped it'd hit him on the head...

Adeline tried to start up a conversation with him, but it was difficult as he was standing so close. "S-So how did you sl-" She stopped when she heard James' voice and turned her head to look at him. She sighed, and thought, "Oh no" when he tossed the orange. "This is not going to be..."

Eric's eyes narrowed at the sight of the boy. He tried to react as quickly as possible to James' toss, but wasn't quick enough. It was a perfect shot to Eric's head. Adeline covered her mouth, trying to stifle her laughter while Eric let out a yell and put a hand to his head. He started to make his way toward the captain, but Adeline held on fast to his arm.

"Eric, you will not harm him," said Adeline sternly. "He was only trying to give you some breakfast." She tried to plead with him, using her eyes, but he ignored her and shook her off of him. Adeline just put her hands on her hips and glared, trying not to show fear.

"That orange hurt me," he debated back, but Adeline would have none of it. She only shook her head and put her hand up.

"It's only an orange. It will not harm you," she said calmly, trying not to raise her voice to him and turning to look out at the sea. "Why don't you go find something else to do? There must be-"

"No, I am not leaving your side. Not again. I want you with me," debated Eric again.

Adeline didn't know what else to say. She sighed and tried to think of something else to get rid of him, but so far, nothing came up.

James said "Oh come on, you can catch better than that, surely! it couldn't've hurt that much! be thankful it wasn't a coconut!". he walked up to Eric, his grin fading after the urge to laugh at Eric's horrible attempt to catch the orange subsided, and said "On a more serious note, however, i have been informed you are quite good at commanding the crew, and, quite frankly, my Bo'sun Raphael has been having trouble trying to keep the crew following orders properly. as such, i'd like you to assist him in keeping that rowdy lot in check"...

"Commanding the crew," he repeated as he looked at Adeline, who only smiled at him and nodded in agreement. Memories of what happened when he was captain and Barbossa yelling at him started to come. He didn't want to deal with any yelling or getting swatted in the head, like a troublesome schoolboy. He glanced up at the man James' was talking about. He was tall and muscular.

"Oh, come Eric! Prove to me that you can command a crew," said Adeline with encouragement in her voice. "Captain Will said you were quite good while I was taken away. If you did it like that last time, you can do it again. Please?" Adeline had to remember to thank James for this.

"I am not..." He sighed defeatedly. How could he say no to her pleading face? It was innocent, in a way. "If it will make you happy. Very well." He focused his eyes on James, again, sizing him up. He was thirty two years of age and how old was this captain? He looked young. Before leaving, he gave a kiss on the cheek to his wife, not caring if James was in front of him. He also murmured his goodbyes before walking away, almost defeatedly to help Raphael command the crew.

Adeline closed her eyes for a minute, glad that he was finally away, then opened them again to watch James carefully. She didn't know what to say...

James watched as Eric walked off, Raphael leading him, and made an almost disgusted shudder. he HATED being near that old smelly crackpot! he looked like he was older than Jack! and, although his talking around Adeline didn't suggest it, he did think too highly of himself. lazy sack of Cow droppings slept for nearly 3 days in a row doing absolutely nothing, not that James minded. he was a lazy old fart that would do better as a new figure head for the ship than anything else, but, unfortunately, James couldn't do that, as Adeline did have SOME care for the man. James tried his best to beat that idea out of his head, but it was a very tempting idea, tying Eric up to the bow, dressed in one of those dresses he wanted Adeline to wear so much, and used as a ram when in pursuit of a smaller ship. James then got handed a bottle from Nathan. a bottle of rum, and he opened it and took a quick swig, and then looked at Adeline, and said "Better?", meaning the fact that Eric was gone...

Raphael looked at the smaller man in front of him and said "Now, we got de crew to weake op. teake dis and knock dem on de hied wid it. i'll teake care of de starboard side of de ship, you teake ceare of de port side". he handed Eric a small club, made out of human bone, with a rock skull on the end of it, then led Eric below decks, where the crew were resting in hammoks hanging from the cieling of the lower deck, packed tighter than sardines and with one crew member's feet next to the other's face in the next hammock over, as was the case with all the crew members. Raphael got to work knocking on the crew members' heads with his knuckles, as he eyed Eric to make sure he did as he was supposed to...

Adeline nodded and grinned. "Much better." She shuddered. "He was standing too close to me. He's..." She shook her head. "Um...rather interesting."

Eric examined the club and shuddered. What the hell was this thing made out of?! He watched Raphael with uncertainty in his eyes. "Is this thing..." He made a face and went to the port side, carefully doing his job, hoping he was doing it right. "Get up you lazy dogs," he shouted while bonking each crew member on the head with the club that sent a shiver to his bones. He didn't want to get on Raphael's bad side. Every now and then he would glance at the tall man, then look down quickly, hoping not to meet his eyes.

James nodded. "Indeed...and smells funny. cant forget that" he added with a slightly disgusted look on his face as he remembered wat Eric smelled like when he walked by, Raphael leading him. a wicked grin creeped onto his face as he realised something. he just remembered Raphael was a cannibal...and his usual tool to wake up the crew was....Eric was in for a day he was NOT gonna forget very soon...

"Weake op you lazy Goats or i'll eat you like i did dat Pirate in Singapore! and den i'll have more clobs to weake ya op wid!" yelled Raphael, his voice a deep gutteral roar that scared half the crew members to death. the three closest to him leapt out of their hammocks and were sorting things out in seconds...

Adeline chuckled and nodded. "True. I must admit, he smells better when he is back at home." She noticed a mischievous grin take over James' face and raised an eyebrow at it. "What's so funny," she inquired.

Eric froze when he heard that voice come out of Raphael's mouth and shivered in fear. Did this guy really do such a thing to another man?! What did the man do to make him...eat him. "Oh great, now I have to be worried about being killed too," he thought bitterly as he did his job faster. "Come on, get up," he yelled, trying to sound tough and menacing to the crew members.

James said "I think Eric's going to have a bit more inspiration to do his job properly than i originally expected. i just remembered something that he might not be too happy about". his wicked grin grew a bit wider as he overheard Raphael's loud voice echo through the lower decks...

"De last one to leave his hammock will be havin dinner wid me tonight! and dey'll be de meain meal!" yelled Raphael, his voice a roar that literally rattled bones. the crew, shaking in fear at the sound of the yelling roar that came from Raphael, leapt out of the hammocks as he was finishing his sentence. the last one fell to the floor after struggling to get out of his hammock. Raphael walked up to the man, and said "You! giet up!". before the man could reply Raphael grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, and lifted him off the ground, and looked him in the eye as he said "You 'ave wark to do. now, giet moving!". his yell was enough to make the whole crew scramble for the stairway up to the main deck...

Adeline shivered at the yell and shook her head at James' wide grin. "Oh James," she said with a sigh and turned to see the crew scrambling up on the deck, fear in their eyes.

Eric gulped and was doing his own rushing and yelling with the crew, trying to please Raphael. He was satisfied when they all finally scrambled up and went up the stairs to the main deck of the ship. He stayed silent and didn't dare look at Raphael, fear in his own green eyes that were once cold and fearless. "****, I better be careful," he thought and cleared his throat before speaking to the man. "Now what?" He just hoped that the man didn't yell at him.

James said "I forgot to mention. Raphael is a Cannibal. the only people he wont eat if given the option are me and my closest friends. he usually sticks to normal food but he does eat his enemies if he can get ahold of them. can't believe i had actually forgotten that!". he was barely suppressing a chuckle...

Raphael looked at Eric and said "Now we got to keep dem warkin propaly. Capitan Sparrow doesent like his crew to be lazy. we got to keep dem warkin to keep 'im happy. gimme dat!". He snatched his small club out of the smaller green-eyed man's hands, and then stopped for a moment. "onless you want to keep it? i need more man-bone to make me a good clob, and dat one wasn't strong enough. too weak"...

Adeline's eyes were as wide as saucers when James mentioned that little fact. Was that why James suggested that Eric work with Raphael in the first place? Eric and James did not like each other. Her eyes started to narrow. "Is that why you wanted him to work with Raphael? Oh James, Eric is going to...I don't know what he's going to do." She sighed. "At least he will be kept in line."

Eric cleared his throat again, trying to speak properly to Raphael. He tried to look into the other man's eyes without fear in his own. What should he say to that question, yes or no? "What happens if I do say no?" He finally decided to answer. "Yes, I will keep it." He was trying hard to hide slight disgust in his voice.

James said "If i had remembered it then, i would've sent Eric off with Nathan instead. still, at least Eric wont be able to deny an order. knowing Raphael, he'll make it very clear what happens to those who dont listen". James shook his head as he thought of it. absolute brilliance, that mistake. Raphael would put a bit of fear in that old fart's stone heart, and at the same time, wouldn't harm him unless he openly disobeyed an order...

Raphael nodded. "Com on. we got some crew to keep in line" he grunted, as he threw the man who was STILL in his hand to the ground and yelled "Giet op and giet to wark!". he then walked after the man who ran up to the main deck, and climbed the stairs...

"You would've really done that?" Adeline rolled her eyes. "For some reason I have a hard time believing that. You and Eric are like two competitive lions. If someone locked you two in a room together, I bet you two men would try to kill each other before doing anything else."

Eric let out a deep sigh and followed Raphael up the stairs, making sure to stay behind him, but not staying too far behind. He took another glance at the weapon in his hand and let another shudder course through his body. He really didn't like to use such a weapon on the men, but he had to, for fear of what Raphael might do to him if he didn't. "At least I will get to see a little bit of Adeline when I go up there," he thought, looking at least a little hopeful about that.

James raised a finger as he said "Correction. if you locked us in a room together, i'd knock him out, tie him up, disarm him, leave him in a corner and unlock the lock then lock it myself after im out, and find you, thank you for giving me the chance to talk to him personally and alone, and then take you in me arms to the cabin and hold you close for the rest of the day". he then saw Rainbow up at the Main Mast, and yelled "Oi! Rainbow! get your feathery hide down here now!". Rainbow glided down, landing on his shoulder. James said "Could you tell Gibbs how long he guesses it'll be before we arrive at the Cove and whether there are any reefs that may get in the way?". Rainbow squaked "Aye aye, Cap'n! RAAAAAAAAK!" and took off, squaking "Rope head! RAAAAAK!" as he flew towards the Pearl. James pulled out his pistol and aimed it at the bird for a moment, before grumbling and putting it back in it's holster...

"Mr. Duplier! guo and kieep an eye open on de crew, i'll watch from de bow! you walk amang dem. i watch and tiell you what too doo" yelled Raphael, his whip now in his hand as he went up to the bow, and watched the crew...

"Hm, you know, locking you two in a room doesn't sound like a bad idea," she murmured and smirked. "I will make sure that both of you are disarmed and make Raphael stand by the door and not let either of you out until you settle your differences. I mean, you both share almost the same past." Adeline was a little worried when he took out his pistol and aimed it at Rainbow after he called him a rope head, but let out some air when he put it back and smiled. "You wouldn't really do that to Rainbow."

Eric didn't say anything, but nod and did as Raphael asked. He hated doing all of this! He was acting like a dog, following every order that Raphael gave out, afraid to be punished if he didn't. Then again, didn't he have a right to be afraid? After all, Raphael could kill him if he didn't do exactly as he commanded. "Why would James keep a man like that on his ship," he wondered as he carefully eyed the crew with the club in hand. He wanted to see what Adeline was up to, but didn't even glance in her direction for fear of what Raphael might do to him if he did.

James said "Dont need a weapon to fight, dear. then again, Raphael would probably open the door, swap with me and eat Eric alive. oh, by the way, want a drink?". he was sipping on the Rum and felt guilty about it since he was drinking something and Adeline was without a drink...

Raphael yelled "Mr Archer! giet movin or i'll see to it dat you dont have a left arm tonight!". he cracked the whip against the side of the ship, getting the crew's attention and making them move faster. "Mr Duplier! Giet your head otta de clouds and make sure dey duont slack off!"...

James sighed as he watched Raphael keep the men busy. the crew weren't in the mood to follow orders, thinking that now they were back from World's End they could do as they pleased. James had to correct them, and Raphael was the man for the job...

Adeline shook her head. "No thanks, I'm ok. You see? There you go again with the harming. I just can't believe you!" She huffed, placed her hands on her hips and held her head high. "I am going to find some way to make you two stand each other and at least try to work together without killing each other first."

Eric grumbled. "I am trying," he yelled back and grabbed one of the lazy men by the collar. "You go to work now! I don't want to see you sitting on your *** and talking," he growled and threw him back down. He figured that his temper would help him in this area. All the anger and frustration he was holding in, he was finally letting out, thanks to his new job on the ship provided by James.

James shrugged. "I wouldn't hurt a fly unless i was provoked" he said, a humourous grin on his face. "I treat people the way they treat me. he acts badly, expect me to react the same way. right now, im keeping a rather harmless attitude towards him. what happened a moment ago was unintentional, believe me. i had absolutely forgotten that little perk of Raphael's. didn't remember it until i spotted his little club. the one he keeps on his shoulder strap. it had a skull on it, probably carved out of rock or something. that reminded me of his...eating habits. whatever the case, im harmless until harmed, physically or otherwise. he keeps a good attitude towards me and all the people i respect, care about and trust, and i'll keep a good attitude towards him. he refuses to treat any of those people, and he loses my respect, courtesies and trust, and has the brig waiting for him" said James, now being serious. Rainbow flew in, and squaked "No risks! no risks! 4 hours! 4 hours! RAAAAK!". James nodded, and Rainbow flew over to the wheel and started to whistle The Song. James was given an idea by that...

Raphael watched the crew. they were starting to speed up, but one crew member stood out. John Archer. a young, muscular man who thought he was above the standards of the crew. "Mr. Archer! giet moving and finish swabbin da deck! there's more wark to do on de ship dan dat!" yelled Raphael, his eyes shifting between Archer and Eric constantly. he didn't trust that man as far as he could throw him...
