Adeline walked from the ship back to her own ship to freshen up. She noticed that her door to her quarters was ajar and raised a fine eyebrow in suspision. "I didn't leave it like that before." She walked into her quarters and closed the door behind her, wanting to freshen herself up. On her desk lay another rose next to the one she got earlier in the day. Curious, Adeline walked over to the desk and picked up the flower carefully in her hands. She smelled it like she did to the other one and sighed in happiness. "I really do appreiate these gifts...but, oh if only I knew..." There was a letter on her desk. She picked that up to and opened it. It said:

My dear Adeline,
I am sure you are wondering who is sending you these flowers. I will come down by your quarters tonight to see you, when everybody else is asleep. Look presentable tonight, for it is a special occasion.

"What could be the occasion," she thought aloud, not sure whether to do what the letter asked or not. The writing was fancy and appeared to be a male's. "Well, he said he would come by anyway. There is nothing in it about being my choice whether or not he could come." She didn't know what to think about this little. She was a little happy that she was going to be finally seeing this man, but also very curious. What did he look like? Who exactly was he? "I'll just do what is asks and see what happens tonight, if he even keeps his word. Now how is James doing? Best go check to see how he is faring." She looked at the second rose she got today and decided to put it in her hair. It looked wonderful. She walked out of the room and out to the deck, but was stopped by Allen. She informed him to where she was going. While doing so, she noticed he was glancing up at her hair.

"Where did you get the rose," he inquired, curious.

"I found on my desk next to another one..." She trailed off, a look of wonderment and a little happiness placed on her face. Allen started to smirk, but Adeline started to narrow his eyes at him. "What?"

"You look rather happy about all this, my darling girl. It looks like there is an admirer amiss the crew. And you are happy about all this? Who is he? And I thought you-" he stopped his last sentance when she gave him a deadly glare.

"First of all, I appreiate whoever is doing this. And I don't know his name. He didn't place it on the letter that I got from him, saying he would..." She stopped herself, knowing she was giving him too much information.

"He's going to meet you?" He chuckled. "So that is why all the happiness."

"Listen!" She lowered her voice so only he could hear. "Yes, yes I confess that I am happy, but you would be too if there was someone giving you mysterious notes and roses. Just because I am accepting that he will visit me, doesn't mean that I...have feelings for him. I am curious and wondering how this will turn out. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to see how James is doing." She walked away from her friend and went on her way to the main Captain's ship to see how James is doing so far...

James looked at Adeline as she walked in. James looked at her, and then noticed a Rose in her hair. "Where'd you get that from?" he enquired. "we haven't been near a garden in months!". James walked over to his own personal barrel of Rum, opened it up, and was about to put his mug in it, until Jack the Monkey leapt out of it screaching. James jumped back and drew his pistol, but the Monkey had already left the room. "Damned undead monkey! stay away from my rum!". James knew Adeline was probably laughing behind his back, so he put his pistol back in it's small sheath, and continued, getting a mug of rum from the other Rum barrel, and handing it to her, before getting one for himself as well. he waited to see what the answer to his question would be...

Yuke was not that tired after the fight since he only shot people for a fair distance.he was just sitting in his cabin cleaning and fixing his musket, drinking some rum, watching the map to see where point-au-prince lays in these waters...

She thanked James for the mug of rum and took a small sip of it before answering James' question. "I found it on my desk today." Her answer was simple, and didn't give away too much detail. That was all James needed to know. "So how about you, how are you doing?"

James said "Well, cleaned myself up from the battle, had my surgeon check the wounds, put on a fresh set of clothes and was sharpening my blade a coupld of minutes ago. im still not done, and i need to check my pistol. it isn't shooting as well as usual. i think that monkey must've stuffed some cloth or something in there..."

She chuckled and shook her head. "The monkey...you know, we should give him back to Barbossa or do something with him. You've been wasting your shots on that monkey ever since it came on board. It's not really good to do so."

James smiled and said "it gives me something to do on long voyages. it keeps the crew happy too, seeing as im getting trouble from something that cant die. i hate it, but it keeps the crew happy, so i put up with it. it also gives you and Yuke something to laugh at in grim conversations". James got up, picked up a stone he was sharpening his blade with earlier, and drew his sword, and started sharpening it while waiting for Adeline to say something. there were more modern tools to sharpen blades with these days, but nothing sharpened blades quite as well as some stones...

"True." She observed James' sharpening his sword with his stone for some time, admiring his skill at doing so. Sbe stayed silent, focusing on her thoughts and drinking some of her rum as she watched James sharpen his sword for the next time. "How long do you think it take to get to Point Au Prince?"

James looked at thoughtfully, and then said "Well, if i remember the map properly, and these winds keep up the way they are, we could get there in 3 days". James continued sharpening the blade as he waited for her to say something...

"Three days," she repeated thoughtfully and leaned back in the chair she was sitting at. "Once we get there, we are going to try to look for the childrens' parents, right?" True concern shown in her eyes as she asked that question.

James shook his head, and said "First thing we do is go to the tavern with the kids staying on the ship. we ask the bartender about any kidnapped children rumours. if anyone in Port Au Prince knows, it'll be the Bartender. all those drunkards in the tavern exchange all kinds of stories. if Port Au Prince is indeed the place the children live, then they'll be taken to the Governor. if not, we'll ask the Bartender where the latest missing children stories are coming from"...

She sighed. "Alright, James. Those poor kids. They shouldn't have to go what they went through." Anger was starting to come out of her. "Those robed monsters were cruel and sick. How could they think to do such a thing to them?"

James sat for a while, thinking. at last, he said "well, I have heard of a group of cultists; Animists to be exact, that have been roaming the Caribbean lately. I've also heard that a guard was found dead in Port Au Prince with a piece of red fabric in his hand....the same red fabric these Robed men are wearing. A while ago, back when i was still quite young, an old man came to the place where me and Yuke used to live. one day, he had given me a book to read while he was with my uncle in the tavern. I was curious as to why he would give me a book, and what he thought would interest me about it. i opened it, and found some information about cults known around the world. the one that scared me was about Animists. it talked about how they used children in a sacrificial ritual that was supposed to give them immortality. the thing is, it involved magic that allowed them to do so. Im guessing these Robed men are the Animists i read about..."

Adeline leaned farther back in her seat, trying to relax. When James started to talk about the Animists using children as sacrifices to give them immortality, Adeline grew uncomfortable. Her nose scrunched up in distaste and she squirmed. When he was done, she shook her head and commented on the memory. "No wonder why it scared you. That would've scared me too. The things people do to gain immortality. Immortality is not suppose to be great and wonderful...I would rather have a mortal life then an immortal life."

James said "Well, obviously they preffer the opposite. anyway, they're dead now, and the children are in safe hands. if my dad was here he'd probably just wave at the Animists as they pass by, ignoring the children. still, that's the personality of a hardened pirate, i suppose..."...

"And a little drunk," she suggested with a little humor visible in her voice. She was enjoying talking to James alone, with no one to bother them at the moment. But there was bound to be somebody to bother them sooner or later, but right now, it seemed everything was going alright...

James smiled and said "Yeah, and that too. at least he didn't have that problem with salty, fish filled rum...". he had just finished sharpening the sword, and held it in front of him, facing the window, the setting sun shining through and making a bright reflection on the blade. Rainbow was sitting on his perch in the corner and squaked "Raaaaaaaak, Pirate cleaver, Pirate Cleaver!". James looked at him in surprise. he didn't think a Scarlet Macaw would know words like that. still, this macaw was special. He smiled and said "And Parrot cleaver as well if you say that again!". Rainbow went silent for a moment, before shear cheek took over and he squaked "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAK! PIRATE CLEAVER! RAAAAAAK!". James then spun his sword and threw it at the bird, blade forward, pinning it next to the perch. Rainbow was already on the table to his right. "Bloody parrot...". Rainbow bit his hand and said "Raaaaaaaak! Bloody pirate!". James couldn't help but laugh. he went over to Rainbow's food, took a few bits of fruit he had put there as treats, dunked it in rum and said "Here you go, you mangy flying rat. enjoy". he put it on the big metal plate slightly in front of the perch, held up by a metal plate holder that was shaped in a way so that it would be right in front of Rainbow's face when he was sitting there. Rainbow flew over and squaked "Drink up me hearties yo ho!". James laughed, and took his blade and put it back into it's sheath...

Adeline couldn't help but let a laugh escape when the whole scene played out with James and Rainbow. "He's a wise little bird." She got up and went to run her finger gently on Rainbow's head while he was busy eating his rum soaked fruit. "Yes, you are," she said softly to the brightly colored macaw before turning her attention back to James. "How did Rainbow come into your life?"

James said "Well, when my father finally managed to set that deal with Davy Jones to get the Pearl back, he was in Singapore. on the way, he stopped in a small island port, to get supplies, and a good ship plan duplicator, to make a set of plans that perfectly matched the Pearl, so that if she was actually sunk, he'd be able to have it remade. while he was staying there one day, a Scarlet Macaw landed on a curved Palm tree next to him. the Macaw was eying a particularly juicy piece of fruit in my father's hand. My father looked at the bird and said "Forget it, it's mine". the bird jumped onto his shoulder, grabbed the fruit, and tried to take off with it. my father caught it by the leg and said "Have the rest! this one's mine!". the Macaw stopped, and landed on his shoulder again, and seemed to stay there thinking for a short while, before making a nodding gesture, and dropping the fruit in his hand. My father liked the bird, and petted it on the head. it squacked and rubbed up against his hand, and my father named him Rainbow, because he had much more vibrant colours than the other Macaws around him. when he dropped the Plans off with my uncle, he dropped the bird off, along with me as well. i had been with my mother and uncle for my first few years, and had gone with him on the trip to Singapore to get the Pearl from Davy Jones. and so, with my father away, the only person Rainbow actually knew and was affectionate of was me. now he's by my side all the time. sometimes, he'll even join in on small fights, to distract the enemies. he's also fun to watch with Ragetti. he has seen Ragetti's false eye as a toy, and sometimes dumps it in the sea...". Rainbow cocked his head in thought, as if remembering that fateful day when he and the famous Captain Jack Sparrow crossed paths...

"I need to see that sometime. You know, I think that we should get Ragetti another eye. He sometimes complains about the wooden one being itchy. Then again, it is funny when it pops out and rolls around the deck." She chuckled at the fine memory when Ragetti's eye popped out in front of the Animist captain. She was starting to forget about what she had to do tonight, for she was comfortable spending time with James. She continued petting Rainbow on the head.
