Arqueek handed Jarad the device, explaining, "I was tracking... something, but it simply disappeared at a certain point, yet I'm pretty sure the tracker's fine. I just wanted to know if it really is broken."

OOC: You were just unfortunate. Its hard to survive with something taken from another universe. Afterall, it was never designed to cope with whats here.

Thara stopped to glance at a map of the ship, trying to find the Rec room. As embarassing as it was, he didn't have a clue about where anything was on the Endeavour...

Jarad took it from the Skaven and had a look at it, recognising it. he had only come across it a couple of times before, but he knew it's workings inside out. he immediately put it on the table and took several small pointed screwdriver-like devices, and then a scanner that was programmed with every device he had ever worked on, comparing the wiring and circuitry of this one to the last one he had worked on after restoring it to perfect working condition. the scanner made a high pitched bleep, and Jarad looked up at him. "There's nothing wrong with it...it's perfectly fine" said Jarad as he handed it back to Arqueek, slightly disappointed. repairing damaged devices was a hobby of his as much as it was a specialty...

"Hey Thara" said Serephir as he walked up to him. "Looking for something?" he said as he looked over Thara's shoulder at a rather complicated map of the Endeavour...

Arqueek furrowed his brow, accepting the tracker back. "Strange... I'm going to tell Serephir to get us out of here as quickly as possible. I have a bad feeling..." Nodding to Jarad, he left, seeking out Serephir.

Thara glanced back and nodded, growling "Yeah... The Rec room... I can't understand this thing for life... Most ships I have been on had electronic maps and you just had to tell it where you wanted to go. The ones that didn't were too small and simple for it to matter....

Serephir chuckled. "You could've always asked the Computer" he said, crossing his arms. "Computer. Where's the Recreation Room from my position?" he called over the annoying droning engines of the cleanup drones, a loud buzzing sound being heard as one drone broke down a body into mere atoms before absorbing it into it's compressed storage tank for disposal after the cleaning operation was done. "Walk ahead until you reach your first right, where a staircase to the left will lead you to the door to the recreation room. current occupants: Xander Veleros, Michael "Blaze" Meldaro and Alexander Bartellos" said the Computer. "See? why read when it can tell you where to go directly?" said Serephir...

Arqueek appeared behind Serephir and said urgently, "Serephir, I suggest we leave this spot as quickly as possible!"

Serephir turned around to face Arqueek, saying "What's wrong?"...

Arqueek replied, "I'm not sure, but I have this feeling that where ever that thing went, it's not just running because it's scared."

Serephir brought a hand to his chin, thinking about it for a moment. "What did that creature do while it was here, exactly?" he asked, starting to think of what it's purpose could've been.

"Considering it only attacked small groups, I'd say scouting, if something that animalistic could really scout," replied Arqueek. "Everything about it seemed to be pointed towards that role."

"Attacking small groups...hitting and running...good god" said Serephir as he realised it. "Just like Scout Drones back in The War...it was gathering Combat Data...COMPUTER! prepare for Hyperspace travel, activate the defense systems and Activate gravity and displacement nullifier generators! give all crew members warning that we may be in for phase two of an attack!" he commanded, the Computer swiftly following orders...

Arqueek's whiskers twitched nervously. "You know, you didn't have to agree with me..."

Meanwhile, a moon-sized, oblong craft was heading in the opposite direction Spikeblade had come from, following the pheromone trail he had released on his way back to the Hive ship...

Thara turned around, both hands up. He growled in suprise "Holy sh**balls! err shouldn't we be grabbing guns?" He was shocked by the news he had just overheard, he knew very little about military tactics....

"Thinking through that thing's behaviour, it acts EXACTLY like the Scout Drones used by the Empire that once ruled Vardia. they were 8 legged with hooked, acid injecting stingers on their long tails, which hung over their head. they had machineguns built into pincer-like arms that pointed forward from the body. their purpose was to gather combat data on a race, before moving in more powerful forces to capture them for experimentation. they were First Encounter tools used whenever a new threat was detected on the battlefield. it'd paint the target using a specialised beacon, and then retreat, activating a scrambler if it needed to hide it's tracks. usually less than an hour or so after that, the second wave would move in to capture the target at all costs, or, failing that, destroy them. now, if this thing is anything like those Scout Drones, the best thing we can do now is retreat" explained Serephir...

Arqueek made a thumbs up. "Right, getting the hell out of here's the plan of action then." He turned to Thara. "Pray we don't need them. If whatever might be coming after us is anything like that thing, we'll want to get out of here, not fight back."

Thara's face fell... He growled "Well if they are like that.... thing.... I don't want to be anywhere near them... I suggest we make a bee line for Kimrav. That way if they do chase us it will be the militaries problem."

"Computer. get us to Kimrav through Hyperspace" said Serephir simply before looking at Thara and Arqueek. "I wouldn't get comfortable yet if i were you. i'm not sure about these guys, but the guys i used to work with, they only HAD scout and explorer drones if they were a fairly large force with research capabilities...chances are whatever's after us will STILL be able to catch us if we run" he said to the two before walking towards the Recreation room...

Arqueek followed Serephir, saying, "Thara was right, though. Kimrav will probably be able to handle this." He looked over his shoulder to look at Thara. "...Right?"
