The drone responded calmly "Marican Star please." Thara leaned back, senseing Serephirs predicament. He growled "Just give the duke some credit." The Drone seemed to hop on its cushion of air for a moment and bleeped "oh! Very sorry, I forgot that Vardia was new on the block around here.... " A short arm stuck out, holding a plastic card. The Drone said "You can pay this at your leisure, either when you get an account or if you find someone who will transfer for you. It must be paid off fully before you are allowed leave though. Is there anything else you want?"

Thara clapped Arqueek on the back and growled heartily "Freind, what we need to do is get you a drink..."

Arqueek smirked. "It may not help defend this planet, but why the hell not?"

Thara turned around, walking away towards the terminal building and saying "Serephir! We're off to find a pub!" He knew a few good places for a pint around this spaceport, afterall, any time he came to Kimrav, its always been to this city

Arqueek walked after Thara, his mood lightening a bit. On the bright side, it's not like the moon-sized craft up above was doing anything...

A single pod, carrying Spikeblade raced towards Kimrav, so small that it would only pass as a tiny meteorite.

"Nothing else, thank you" said Serephir with a sigh. before Thara could get anywhere, he put a hand on his arm and said "And i assume you HAVE a way to pay?"...

Thara looked back and nodded, saying "Sure I do. My uncle set me up with an account ages back.. I was like... 15 and had already had one of these" He slung a card out of his shorts pocket, the green card holding a small screen in one side and his signature scrawled into the other side. He tapped a finger off the screen and said aloud "Identify" The card said from an unseen speaker "Thara- Koult- Your average Drifter from the wastelands, Dumpheys backreach to be exact. Excels in extreme environmental conditions and has a strang grasp of fire arms, considering his family buisness" Before the card could say anymore he clicked it back and slid the card into his pocket. He explained "Don't ask me how these dudes now all that, they just do."

Serephir chuckled. "Well, do me a favour and help me set up my own. before now all business done outside of Vardia was usually handled by the Koult regarding money conversion, so i don't exactly have an account to work with, and without that, i don't think i could really get the most out of our stay here" he said...

The pod settled down in a relatively open, isolated area near where the spaceport the Endeavour crew was in. It opened, disgorging the Lictor once more. He immediately vanished, sprinting towards the spaceport to help gather yet more information about this planet. A usual Tyranid invasion prelude...

Gaige stepped into a dark room blinds closed and shuttered locked up tight. He stood eyeing the figure at the end of the room. So i hear you have valuable goods to sell, said the figure. As a matter fact i do but it depends. On what, the mysterious figure asked. How much are you willing to pay, Gaige commented in response. Crops were not so good this year, we are offering you a sum of 20,000 credits. Gaige grinned and thought, oh this was to easy. Make it 25 and you got a deal. However we do know these are military goods... your friend ran her mouth a little too much, so we know you want it out of your hair so... 15. Oh 15! come on! You need this. Yes and you need the goods out of your hands so...15. Alright i guess i pushed it a little much uh take it back up to 20 and you can have it. The man looked at him for a short time then said bluntly 17 and you can be on your way. Gaige sighed, well at least its not a total loss for myself, and he smiled. And i guess it fair since you guys are lacking crop output. We will drop it off at the garage and youcan give me the money then.

After the deal was made Gaige left. A half hour later the dropoff was made and the transaction complete. After refueling and stocking up on equipment he and his crew took off again into space. We need to get a contract job make some real money slavage ops aernt paying off as well as they used to, Gaige said to Tala. If you can find anything let me know. Aye aye captain no problemo, and she walked off back to the engine room.

The massive 501st Armada re-appeared in between sectors two and three. Suprisingly, both planets were roughly close to each other and using the wide spread Armada, they could provide aid to both. "

"My Lord long range scanners are up and poised to warn us as soon as they come through" Piett stated, standing by Revan's side to deliver orders.

"Good..tell the ground forces to defend the walls at all cost and withdraw power from the ion cannons and reroute them to the shield generator and fortress defenses" Revan replied.

"At once my Lord" The Grand Admiral bowed and walked off, delivering orders as usual. Revan knew they had a chance to hold the planets...meanwhile Acclamtors have been dispatched much earlier at the very sighting against the Tyranids, while they were old Imperial ships. They were still powerful and could carry a large ammount of Imperial troopers.

Revan then thought back to the first time he encountered them...seeking a way to defeat these hordes..

Just as Thara was about to respond, a huge alarm blared out from the distance... It wasn't as much of a warning but a song.. It faded away slowly and the drone said aloud "Thats odd, there weren't any maneuvers scheduled for today." Just after he said it, the earth seemed to shake, the roar of engines deafening everyone without ear protection.... Overhead, a huge Marican battleship roared past... its engines leaving out a massive trail of orange flames... Its many weapons exposed and active by the looks of it.... The roaring continued, cruisers zipping over head, flanking the battleship.... The column of warships continued on... another battleship among them and a few drone ships.... Ambusher drones folded into aseteriods infront of their eyes... the column rising into the atmosphere...

Thara shook his head and growled "Damn that was unexpected... anyway, lets go then... it should only take a minute..." he started walking towards the spaceport terminal, eager to get out of here and into the city as quick as he could....

Meanwhile, above Kimrav in the planets only orbital defence station, a single general sat in a control room, converseing with the stations Ai... The general said "So you think its a scout or the real deal itself?" The Ai responded "I honestly don't know... previous attacks have included just one of those ships or once.. hundreads of them..." The general nodded and then said "Well this is the first time they have come near Kimrav..." A screen on one side of the room changed to show a greenish planet seemingly under attack by one of the living ships. The ai narrated "The main battle were significant data was collected was here, on Mx-90. A large mining coloney had developed and then they were attacked by the Tyranids. They were unprepared for heavy combat, and the Tyranids reportedly just came down with a purely ground based war. They slaughtered civilians and guards alike, useing mostly melee weapons. Claws and teeth and such. However, many utilised bio weapons... nasty things those... Thankfully a transporter was nearby at the time and managed to drop off some marines onto the surface. They managed to halt the tyranids advance and collected a significant amount of data. The Hive ship was crippled by a hellscream missile and then the marines and survivors extracted out. The planet was then used as a testing ground to find out how to kill them. the omega strain of syn-arma wiped out the entire population of them and managed to finish off the hive shi-" Here the general interupted. he growled "No! No... No strain of syn-arma is being used unless absaloutly nesscessary... You realise what could happen in an accident dont you?" The ai paused and then said "Yes I do.... I propose we strike now and kill the hiveships mind before the gather enough inteligence on our combat tactics."

The general said "Agreed, take it out with the Planetary cannon, and try to set up some sort've shield... I dont want chunks of Tyranid replaceing rain for a whole week...."

The ai crowed "Already done, general..."

Next to the spaceport.... The massive statue of the fairy like figure begun rotateing, shifting around, its arms makeing strange patterns as it moved....

Arqueek, covering his ears, yelled over the sound of engines, "Maybe they're going to take out that ship!"

Suddenly, close to a thousand Hive Ships appeared above Kimrav, called by the scout ship. They all varied in size, shape, and appearance, a horrifying amalgam of bio-technology.

Spikeblade continued onward, fearless. Considering his sensitive role, he, and all Lictors, were not controlled by the Hive Mind telepathic link. Even if the entire fleet was destroyed (a highly unlikely scenario), he would still be going strong...

Thara nodded and said "Probably... I have never seen anything like it before.... You?"

Suddenly, behind Thara... A huge long gun barrel slid out from inbetween the statues arms... A massive blue explosion erupting from its top, the earth shakeing as it recoiled back... A blue orb burst into the atmosphere... Thara looked up, stumbleing back in shock... Seeing a small blue explosion gracefully expanding out in the distance... The general watched on as the scout ship was obliterated... the explosion hitting some of the surrounding ships with its shockwave.... The general folded his arms and grunted "Get reinforcements... I want these things torn apart... have the defence fleets move out to do maximum damage, get the Ion cannon network activated and shoot down anything alien attempting to get onto Kimrav...."

The Kimrav defence fleet joined up into formation... red nano shields fizzling into existence infront of them....

The Tyranid fleet immediately opened fire. Acid and even living creatures flew through space in untold numbers, incinerating on contact with the shields. There were so many of them, however, that it wouldn't take long for them to simply overpower the shields and break through, acid melting ship hulls and massive beetles exhausting their lives frenziedly burrowing through the hulls of ships, leaving gaping holes where ever they did so...

Spikeblade hunted for a native Kimrav, an authority figure of any kind. He knew from previous battles that killing them and absorbing knowledge from their brains would give the information he needed...

Arqueek looked up at the massive battle above. "Looks like the time for drinking is over..."

Serephir watched on, impressed. "It's been a while since i've seen THAT kind of firepower" he said, before looking at Thara and saying "Why don't we get on with our business and finish off here before things get too intense?"...

OOC: its unlikely for any figure of authority to be strolling around in a field :P

The Tyranids breaking through the shield were simply vapourised... massive blue beams streaming across the battle, incinerateing anything they touched, being supplied by the drone ships.... The Drones were moving towards the front takeing the brunt of the damage. Having the tyranids within their armour didn't hinder them much. It would be extremely hard to destroy the ships with just acid or melee attacks. The three battleships that had assemebeled, however, had their sights set on the enemy hive ships... Their cannon batteries lobbing orange orbs into the living ships and blowing large parts of them off, easily melting into its skin before explodeing. One of their disintergrator cannons opened up light streaming up the barrel as it prepared to fire.... The defensive held in place... The tyranid numbers failing to simply over whelem them in the face of the superiour fire power. Sentinals were released from most of the ships, moving towards the tyranids in waves both outside the shield and within it.... It was strange... Here they were with high tech ships and planet destroying weapons yet here were machines and alien monsers fighting via tooth and claw in the middle of a battle... It was an even battle between the Sentinals and the Tyranids. The ones fireing acid managed to melt through the machines armour and tear off their tenticles while other machines simply tore the Tyranid acid glands off...

Thara nodded and walked into the terminal building, the door slideing open easily. He walked over to a bunch of floating chair type arangements, sitting into one, fastening a seat belt and clicking the button on its arm, the chair riseing upwards and then slideing along on the rail above it towards the Spaceport entrance....

OOC: Spikeblade's actually in the spaceport now, though.

Though the Tyranid's weaponry was primitive, to say the least, they did have a couple of tricks. Many were covered with armored tendrils, which whiplashed back and forth, actually deflecting energy bolts back towards the fleet. The tendrils' reflective armor was used specifically to turn their prey's attacks against them. Many of the ships also launched projectiles. However, these didn't do towards the fleet. These spores, carrying dozens of Tyranids each, swiftly wheeled around the fleet, heading towards the planet and using their incredible maneuverability to avoid stray shots. The sheer number of the spores--numbering in the millions--ensured they would almost all get to the planet unharmed.

Spikeblade, still camouflaged, hunted amongst the alleys of the space port, hunting his target.

Arqueek followed Thara's example and sat in one of the chairs, heading in the same direction. The soon they were out of there, the better, especially since he felt the malignant presence again, this time stronger. And hungrier...

Serephir and Blaze had followed suit, heading off with Thara and Arqueek...

The front of the spore column was wiped out with direct shots from the ion cannons, pulseing beams strikeing with supreme accuracy and obliterateing targets completey... A few Owl Phoenix fighters pursued from behind, shooting down spores in their hundreads... It was like a field day for them.... After some swift orders from the general, two of the drone cruisers twisted around, flying after the spores, reactivateing their lasers and sweeping them over the cloud of spores.... If the Tyranids wanted to make any sort of significant landing onto Kimrav they would have to clear out the space defensive first.

A drone hovered into Spikeblade its freindly blue eyes gleaming. It started cheerfully "Hello there good sir, you look slightly lost..." The Controler saw this on one of the security cameras, confused as to why the small drone was seemingly converseing with itself....

The space port shook, the massive roar outside indicateing that the Planetary cannon had fired again...

This time the shell tore straight across the battlefield, hammering into another hive ship.

The chair came to a halt, Thara leaping off it and landing softly onto his feet hurrying along with the people of the crowded spaceport lobby, all of them anxious to get into the city... They passed what looked like a customs check point, but it was deserted. The city was prepareing for invasion... the worst nightmare to a place like Kimrav...

Even the defenses couldn't stop thousands more of the spores to make it planetside. They hit the ground and bloomed like grotesque flowers, disgorging dozens of Tyranid soldiers each. The creatures, Gaunts, Gargoyles, Genestealers, Lictors, Carnifexes, and anything else, formed a seething mass of carapaces and claws.

Spiekblade watched the drone for a moment, then, realizing it wasn't an organic creature, smacked it aside like it just a toy, continuing on.

The fleet, hardly a pinch to innumerable swarm, never stopped firing, chipping away at the Kimrav fleet. They disgorged another wave of Tyranid spores, intent on overwhelming the planet with sheer force. The crashed spores rapidly grew into massive capillary towers, while some sprouted long, barbed tendrils and clawing viciously at the Planetary Cannon. The rest of them threw massive clouds of cloying spores into the air, choking the very air.

Arqueek arrived at Thara's destination, getting off and racing after the Koult. He shuddered at the rumbles he heard as more spores hit the earth...
