Nightbane held the pup down with a paw as the elephants started trumpeting, wondering what had made the noise. they soon calmed down however, assuming it was a monkey or something. "First rule of hunting...keep quiet" Nightbane hissed quietly, as he let go and started walking forward, placing his steps carefully. he walked on, careful not to make too much noise, as his target finally came into view...a small herd of elephants sitting in a river nearby, bathing. as he had hoped, there was a young one among them. barely larger than Night was. and it was out of the water, a fair distance from the others, plucking fruit from the ground around one of the trees. he carefully crept towards the youngster, trying his best not to make any noise. "Second rule of hunting.....be QUICK" he snarled as he suddenly lunged out, having felt he was near enough, the young elephant being startled as Nightbane ran out and threw himself at it after swiftly closing the small gap between him and his prey, latching his claws on it's tough hide as he twisted himself to it's neck, biting hard as it trumpeted to it's family, it's breath swiftly being stopped as it suffocated, the herd struggling to wade out of the river to save the youngster, Nightbane ripping it's throat out with a vicious jerk, blood spilling from it's neck as it fell to the ground, wriggling as it tried to get up and get to it's family. soon it had lost it's ability to move. Nightbane eyed the elephants, who seemed to lose their determination to help the youngster, knowing it was dead. they still tried to get to it, but at a much slower pace, knowing it was too late to help it. Nightbane dragged the near-dead elephant into the bushes, dropping it after having pulled it away far enough to make the elephants give up. "Third rule of hunting...keep your prey away from anyone who might be watching, it's herd included" he growled...
"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
