the shields sparked wildly across the Vardian ships' hulls, the smaller ones losing their shields temporarily while others were damaged with various degrees of intensity. the Revenge sent message back to Vardian satellites, which sent it back to the Vardian high command on the Capital Planet. the Manticores traced the shots back along their original paths, returning fire with their numerous long range guns, almost light-speed ordnance of various types being fired back towards the enemy ships as the Vardian ships began rotating in orbit around Trandosha, completely intact ships coming to bare as damaged ones went behind cover to give time to recover their shields, a hailstorm of weapons being launched at the attackers. meanwhile, the Revenge remained over the capital city's tower, Vassek, in orbit, now slightly below the altitude where the rest of the ships were, to allow them to pass over it, it's own guns locked on all targets within sight on that hemisphere,it's numerous weapons ready to fire the moment they attempted attack, it's 6 PSCs charging as the directional turrets rotated to target the ships in sight, supporting the turrets already locked on them...
Meanwhile....
"After the whole lightsaber impalement incident...well, let's just say High Command wasn't happy with it. so the order was given out to acquire all known saber-resistant materials possible. we've got alot of them, and cross studied them to find out the properties that were matched in all of them, hoping to find the key to their resistence, and synthesize an artificial material with similar properties" said Aragren as he walked through the dark grey room with Serephir. "That must've taken ages" responded Serephir. "Well, to tell you the truth, it tok longer to actually make it than it was to find the property. no matter what they tried, they couldn't seem to find a material that was pliable AND resistant" responded Aragren. "So, presumably, anything artificially manufactured would also be non-pliable?" responded Serephir. "Precisely. they're working on a solution for that as we speak, but according to them, it won't be ready for a while. several months, at least" said Aragren. "So what is it you wanted to show me then?" asked Serephir. "Well, we said it was non pliable, but we DIDN'T say we couldn't make it with such fine parts that it was as good as pliable" said Aragren with a smirk. they walked into a small branch of the large lab, where a black and silver wet-suit like armour was kept inside a tall glass container, the shoulders covered in a series of armoured plates molded to fit. "Impressive" said Serephir. "This should be considerably safer than your current armoured suit. it's been completely geared with life support systems should something manage to get through. however, it's still experimental. by that i mean it won't be as high performance as your current armour. it's at least twice the weight, and considerably less flexible, meaning you won't be as fast moving in it. while it allows for standard movement and maneouverability, but you just won't be able to attain the same blistering speed you usually have. you'll probably still be several times as fast as your average person, but not quite up to par with how you are now. simply speaking, it's probably something you should only use if in a situation where speed just doesn't help" explained Aragren. "I'd preffer you keep it here until you've perfected it. so what if it takes several months. a year, two. keep it here. you'll be able to work much more effectively with this thing in the lab and accessable to scientists, that you would if it was in a completely different star system in the middle of a war. when you've finished constructing it and perfecting it, and have something at least 95% the pliability of my current armour, and less than one and a half times it's weight, THEN you can contact me about it. until then it's better you keep it here to continue research with a model you can work with up close" said Serephir. Aragren nodded. "The other thing i wanted to show you is a new weapon we have acquired from a group of weapons merchants..." he explained as he walked away from the display container...

"Ah yes, organised chaos. the sign of a clever but ever-busy mind. To the perpetrator, a carefully woven web of belongings and intrigue, but to the bystander? Madness!"
