"Anything new, Uzuri?" rumbled Amani, looking at her sister and Night. "Maybe I was too hard on Nguvu..." thought the lioness, glancing back to see Lusa laying on his stomach.

Nguvu looked at Lusa after the stretch, growling "Lusa? are you done using me as your personal bed? I find it somewhat difficult to move like this you know"...

"Just talking to Night about what the prey's like around here," Uzuri growled. Noting Amani's expression, she added, "Is something wrong?"

Lusa, in reply, rolled off of the lion's stomach and stared up at the ceiling for a while. "Do you like that lioness?" she yipped suddenly, curious about the interaction between Amani and Nightbane.

Nguvu's eyes widened at the random question, worried the others had heard. the lion rolled onto his feet, eying the pup for a moment and growled "It's a secret". and with that, he walked out of the cave, hungry. he wanted to hunt something down while the others were chatting. he needed time to think, and he always found peace in the midst of the trees or grasses, alone....perhaps he'd have a better chance deciding what he really wanted. with a final glance back at the others, his eyes lingering on Uzuri for a moment, the lion walked off...

"Nothing Uzuri, Nothing," growled Amani, starting to try and hide her expression. "Uzuri, can I speak to you alone, outside of the cave please?" rumbled Amani, still looking at her sister, then towards Nguvu, who was leaving the cave, and Lusa, who was now off of him, watching him go.

"Um, sure," Uzuri growled, confused, as she got to her paws.

Lusa, extremely confused and a bit hurt, watched the lion go. Did she make him angry?

Amani started to head towards the entrance of the cave, then made a sharp turn left once out. She headed to the back of the cave, Uzuri close behind, as she looked around to be sure nothing could see the two lioness' together. "I needed you to come talk in private with me Uzuri, because it's about, something I had to talk to you about. It's basically about... Nguvu," rumbled Amani, cutting herself off in mid sentance before continuing, looking behind herself to be sure Nguvu was watching her, seeing nothing in the bushes or trees... yet.

Uzuri cocked her head, growling," Okay...what about him?" She had the sneaking suspicion that she knew where this was going.

Nguvu meanwhile, had entered the midst of the undergrowth, bushes and trees surrounding him, the loud calls of monkeys and birds having died down with the approach of night, the songs of insects taking over, clicks and chitters and even whistling sounds coming from all around. Nguvu, once he was sure he was well away from the cave, he thought over the day's events. so many things swirled in his mind it was bordering on driving him insane. Amani had come on startlingly strongly, as if actually racing for his affections. Uzuri on the other hand kept to herself and seemed not to even notice the events. if she had, she probably had it in her head that her sister liked him. that in turn, would make things more difficult for him, as the one he wanted now thought he didn't want her, or otherwise felt that she may hurt her sister if she truly did share feelings for him. that was another issue. did she even notice him? had she any idea he felt for her? Amani by this point probably thought he DID have feelings for her. the lion sighed, closing his eyes tightly as if trying to crush the thoughts, so he could focus on hunting. opening his eyes, the lion proceeded to move silently through the jungle, searching for prey...

"You see, Uzuri, I am in love with Nguvu, but I don't really think he loves me, yet, I know for sure he does," rumbled Amani, looking at her sister, not trying to hurt her feelings. She didn't exactly know at the time if Nguvu was truly in love with her or Uzuri, and decided not to talk to him about it or anything else that was important until tommarow.

Uzuri controlled her wince. She'd noticed the lingering glances Nguvu had been casting at her. Convinced he liked her sister - he had known Amani longer - Uzuri had been trying to crush her own creeping feelings of attraction to the male.

"I... I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings," growled Amani, suddenly running off into the vegitation behind her and the cave. "i'll, I'll just come back to the cave tommarow, for now, I'll stay in the deeper areas of this jungle," Amani rumbled to herself, still running away from the cave.

the lion upped his pace, picking up a scent, knowing it was prey but not knowing what. as the thick bushes and trees gave way to a small stream, he froze. just ahead of him was a large tapir. and somehow, it hadn't noticed him yet. leaping at the chance, the lion lunged from the undergrowth, the tapir bolting with a panicked squeel, Nguvu hitting it before it could get into the undergrowth and into cover, the lion tackling it to the ground, claws hookedo n it's flanks. the creature kicked wildly in an attempt to get free, but the lion was simply too large. with little effort he managed to get ahold of the neck, biting down and twisting, a resounding crack marking he had killed his prey. satisfied, the lion rose to his feet, beginning to drag the kill by the neck, back to the cave...it was a large one. it wouldn't fully feed everyone...but it would satisfy their hunger, at least...

Uzuri called out after her sister, but by then Amani had already disappeared into the jungle. Hopelessly confused, every thought in her head clamoring for her immediate attention, and with a sudden ache in her heart, she just stood staring in the direction Amani had run.

Amani continued heading in the direction she already was, trying to get as far away from the cave as possible without losing the scents of the wolves or Uzuri and Nguvu. "I'll be going back tommarow. I could explain to uzuri why I ran, if she doesn't already know why," she growled to herself, heavily panting, barely hearing her own words. She instantly slowed to a stop as she noticed a nice spot under a tree to sleep for the rest of the day. She started walking slowly towards the hole, checked it as she caught her breath, then went into it to sleep for now.

after several minutes of walking, Nguvu neared the cave, dragging the tapir behind him as he headed for the entrance...

Not long after Nguvu returned, Uzuri padded up to the cave entrance, looking dazed and almost lost. Night let out an alarmed growl, noting the absence of her sister. The wolf hadn't heard a fight, so...where was Amani? Lusa bounced out of the cave, smelling food, saw the situation, and approached the white lioness. The tiny black wolf pressed herself against the white lioness' forelegs and growled concernedly, "What's wrong? Where's Amani?" Uzuri forced a smile as she looked down at the pup. "Nothing's wrong, little one. Amani...Amani will be back soon."

Nguvu entered close behind, dropping the tapir at the entrance of the cave. "I hope so....it wouldn't be fair if she didn't get a share of the food....now...Whose hungry?" he growled as he looked up with a smile, though it swiftly dropped when he noticed the discomfort in Uzuri's expression. had something happened?...

Uzuri gave the pup a nudge. "Go and eat, Lusa," she growled. "Everything's fine. You don't need to worry." She lifted her head and stared out towards the jungle. Why did she take off like that...? Was it because she thought I'd be angry? she thought, frowning. But I'm not. If she and Nguvu are in love...then...it's not my place to try and get between them. Even as she thought it, her heart gave another painful twist.

Lusa padded back to Nightbane and Night, tail down and ears flattened unhappily. She looked back more than once and whimpered quietly, "What's wrong with her?"

"I don't know" growled Nguvu, obviously conscerned. "But i'm going to find out" he decided finally as he left the tapir for Lusa and Night, walking towards Uzuri, his pace obviously careful, trying to make sure he didn't seem too demanding in case it made Uzuri uncomfortable. "Uzuri?" growled the lion lowly, his head held somewhat low, just below Uzuri's eye level, being as low as the massive lion could manage. he made sure that the way he was walking eased the two of them away from Lusa and Night in case it wasn't something she wanted them to hear. ".....What happened?" he inquired, worry obvious in his tone. the look on her face was obvious. he didn't know what, but something DID happen...
