Serenity fell into a deep sleep. Her breathing become more relaxed. Revion stared at her sleeping form and shook his head. What a silly filly, he thought and let out a cross between a heartfelt laugh and a nicker. His ears twitched and his tail flicked back and forth in boredom. He faintly wondered about traveling, and if he should leave the comfort of the herd in search of adventure and new things in the vast, unknown world. I should take her along, and show her the world too. Maybe the elder unicorns are wrong. Maybe the world is not such a bad place, he thought. He nudged the filly lightly, wanting to wake her up. Maybe now was the time to leave this valley in search of bigger, better things in life? "Come on you, wake up," he cooed gently to the napping equine.
"Wha? What is it, Revion," Serenity was a little annoyed that Revion woke her from her nap, but she got up and went straight into listening mode. "What do you have crawling up your hoof now?" She snorted, waiting for his answer.
"Let's leave this place now," he nickered in a whisper. "It is not like anybody will notice. The others are too busy doing their own things. Come on, just an adventure, filly." He nudged her again. "It will be the two of us, exploring the world together! Just think of the endless possibilities."
Serenity was quite surprised by his forwardness. "Don't you think it is too soon to leave the herd, just like that? What will the others think? You don't even know what's out there, Revion."
"Isn't that the point, Serenity? To find out what exactly is out there? You know, they can not stay in this valley forever." He snorted and stomped his hoof. "Let us go, come on. Live a little! It is about time you and I start seeing more of this world anyway."
"Well I don't know..." She glanced back at the herd. In a way, she knew Revion was right. Then again, this was all the two had ever known! How could they leave such a place? "I guess....I guess we can try," she finally admitted, lowering her head. "You know, you are quite stubborn!" She pulled his mane lightly.
"Ah well, that is what you get," he replied lightly. He looked around, thinking about the direction they should go in. "We should gradually distance ourselves from the others. We are already at a fair distance. Come on, just a few steps more." He started trotting away from the filly. "Well, come on," he said without stopping.
I can not believe I am going along with his crazy plan, Serenity thought as she picked up a trotting place, following Revion. She tried not to look back at the herd, and hoped that they would not notice them. Unlike Revion, she had a doubt that the herd would not notice. Why wouldn't they notice two unicorns leaving the valley?
Revion glanced behind him, and was somewhat relieved that the filly decided to follow him. He thought this would be a great learning experience for the both of them. Finally, it is all going to happen, he thought with glee.
